Our experience with Flooring Concepts was very disappointing. When we were scheduled for service,…read morethe timeline suddenly changed from what it was when we signed the contract. We felt scammed because timing was very important to us, but had to proceed despite feeling the owner was dishonest. The crew that was sent to install (Tim and Giovanni) was unprofessional and made a lot of mistakes. It got to a point where we felt uncomfortable with them in our home. When they did show up, we caught one of the workers laying on our new carpet and rolling around. When we brought up the issues to the owner and installation manager (and sent proof), they did not seem to care. It seemed as if this was normal for them. Any solutions were brought up by us and no solutions were provided by the company. We even had to point out a lot of mistakes that were made that the installation manager missed. At one point, we had to facilitate getting our carpet to our home because one of the workers wanted to leave and we had to do the labor of carrying the carpet into our home. When we finally got another crew out, they were confused about why our project took 7 days when they said they could have it completed in 2. At the end, when discussing with the owner, we felt he was he acted rude, aggressive, and condescending. The dishonesty and lack of communication throughout the process was the worst we've experienced through 5 years of home improvements. An actual quote from the owner was, "I only care about the numbers." After fighting with them for a week, the end product is acceptable but not as expected or worth the price. This company does not care about the job they do, they say themselves they only care about the numbers.

Kevin Teppo is dishonest, does poor work and cannot be trusted to show up…read more My wife found him on Angie's List. For THREE HOURS (as a result of his pace, not hers), they walked room to room while my wife typed up every detail of what Kevin said he would do and how much it would cost. This included mostly painting but also a few handyman type tasks. They then printed and signed every page. The work started slowly. He was mudding almost every wall to make it perfectly smooth before painting it and then waiting days to paint it. We said up front that we didn't want that. It's an 80 year old house. The walls were smooth enough. They just needed a fresh coat of paint. We pleaded with him to please just paint them. Since he was wasting so much time waiting for mud to dry, my wife asked him to use that time to knock out some of the handyman tasks. He said he wanted to discuss how much he would be paid to do them. What!? We have his signature and my wife's signature on the page with the handyman tasks explicitly saying the work was included in the original quote. We agreed with him to knock a few things off the list if it meant he could accelerate the pace of painting. He later pulled me to the side and said, "I really wish you had been here when we did the estimate. You know how women are. They can be very emotional and irrational." I told him that I didn't appreciate his insulting comment and that the nature of their disagreement had nothing to do with her being a woman; it had to do with him not doing what he had committed to doing. He didn't realize that our security system included cameras and that it recorded people's comings and goings. We twice caught him in lies regarding the amount of time he spent working in our house. From almost the beginning, he came to my wife telling her a sob story about his cash flow situation and asking for advances. A mistake my wife readily admits today is that, in the interest of 1) giving him the benefit of the doubt, and 2) not wanting to exacerbate the tension already between them, she agreed to give him more and more money ahead of the work being done. Once he received just over $7,000 of the originally agreed upon $9,000, he stopped showing up, even though he hadn't done half the work. Then, knowing we were in a time crunch he, at the last minute, tried to extort us for more money. When I finally told him that we had finished the work ourselves and that he owed me part of the money we had paid him for work he did not do, he threatened to put a lien on my house, threatening to disrupt the home sale process. A BAD GUY!

Teppo was called to replace a few cracked tiles in my bathroom and re grout the shower. A year…read morelater, it looks horrible. More tiles are cracked than before I ever called him. The grout in the shower is crumbling and cracked. I am outraged. Now I'm going to have to spend thousands to re-tile my bathroom. He seriously ruined everything. Never ever again...anyone know of a REPUTABLE contractor on the west side??? UPDATE: I contacted him via email just to tell him I was displeased with his work and all I asked was for the color grout he used since we have to repair it now. I didn't curse or threaten him or even ask for him to come work on it and he sent me the nastiest email reply. (See pictures). Can't believe what an angry hateful person he is. Seemed real nice...I guess he is until you tell him you are displeased...

I visited Prosource a couple of times in the past (ordered carpeting, tile, and hardwood flooring)…read morethrough them in the past) and saw that they now had Glass Shower doors (and we were in the market for new shower doors!) . I requested a quote and followed up a few times...never did receive the final quote (I received one quote but it was the wrong frame material and there was supposed to be a corrected quote...that I never received" AND the quote did not have any approximate measurements on it so I could not accept it as ut was submitted anyway...strange that it was EXTREMELY (3x the cost) expensive compared to the custom glass quotes (2) I received. (I suspect the dimensions that the company quoted were incorrect but there wasn't anything written on the quote) The last I heard (SEPT 2) was "We have a new Basco representative, our pricing must come from but he has not gotten back to me yet. As soon as I receive it, I will get the quote over to you. Sorry for the delay. " I never followed up after that. The reason I go to Prosource is they have a list of decent installers (at least for flooring and tile) And the people working at ProSource used to be extremely knowledgeable....I did not get that impression this time.

One star because YELP doesn't allow zero. **BUYER BEWARE** DO NOT USE THIS CARPET WHOLESALER…read more As I write this, I have had padding and exposed tack strip throughout my entire living area of my home because the salesman at Prosource can't read basic measurements and do simple math to correctly order carpet for a room. He failed to order enough carpet to cover it, so when the installer came out it was a foot and a half short. THEN they wanted to charge me almost $700 MORE to reorder it correctly. Meanwhile all my furniture has been sitting outside under a tarp for 2 days while I tried to resolve this with them. Horrible customer service. ABSOLUTE RIP OFF. There are many places you can but carpet. Go ANYWHERE but here.
