After spending over $1200 and two trips to different auto shops, the problem still wasnt fixed. I then went to Cole's praying I wouldnt have to put out unneccesary money and walk out with the same problem on my hands for a third time- well.. third times a charm! Cole's over exceeded my expectations and is now my familys number one go-to auto shop. From the moment I walked in the door until picking my truck when it was finished, I was kept in contact with and up to date on the progress. I was only charged $500 for the entire repair! Not only was it affordable, the customer service and quality of work spoke for itself. Prior to starting the work on my Expedition Mr. Cole contacted me with an estimate and fully explained what the problem was in terms I could actually undersand. He also went over with me where the numbers came from with parts and labor needed to fix the emmision problem. I hope this will save someone the headache and hole in the pocket that I suffered before finding a shop with the quality of work Cole's has to offer- there is absolutely no comparison in the area.

They do not just fix your car; they lecture you on why you should call your mother more often…read more Basically, they care. I have gone there for years and my recent visit for maintenance came with a chauffeured ride from Kevin to pick up my car. This man took his personal time to pick me up. While in route, I mentioned how grateful I was for him and the entire group at Fred Drake Auto. He's been with FDA for years "because they are like family." His words, not mine. Side note, please don't ask Kevin for a ride because of this post. I was in a jam that day and he is a very busy man. When it comes to car repairs/maintenance it can be "painful." Whether it is getting the bill, hearing what is wrong with the car/truck, etc. Fred Drake Auto will sit down with you (literally) explain everything and work with you to get your car/truck back on the road. The entire Drake family and their extended family, are amazing. Clearly, I highly recommend.

They were just like all the other shops in essentially being set on thinking the actuator needs replacing when I clearly said I ONLY wanted to bleed the brakes first to see if that worked and if not we would talk about replacing the actuator or other fixes that have helped other folks with the same issue. Guy really didn't try that hard to help, said because they don't have the scanner tool needed, I have to go to Toyota. Dude, the scanner is available on Amazon for $150ish. I have it. I hit up some local mechanics that were more than happy to do the job. My other issues is how you used NO protective covers when getting in my car. I had to wipe everything down and it STUNK until I gave it a full clean. Not professional. Also, right after my appointment, all of a sudden, I have a few spam emails, so they also sell your information as well. Guys. Be more noble. Y'all lost a big customer at that oil change. I had 2 other cars from my house that y'all could have been the main dudes for. Not now! I need someone who wants to work, does it well, and owns their work. Not tell the customer to go to the dealership for every little thing over what? Liability? Guess y'all have a lot of issues with that then if your selling information off. Take care y'all.

Mechanic cussed me out and tried…read morecharging me storage fees when I told them their estimate was high and I was going to go somewhere else. Also, they are now located on Ogletown Rd in Newark, so the current address on yelp is not current. story: My transmission went out on my SUV and roadside assistance put me in touch with these people. Since I didn't know a garage in the area, they agreed to look at the vehicle . Every interaction I had with these people was very unprofessional. It took them three days to get me an estimate and every time I called, it felt like I was calling someone's cell phone; "Hello?" "yes is this the garage? "yeah" Many times it would just ring and go to an unsetup voicemail, so I wasn't even sure I had the right number. They called me three days later with an estimate which was high but I was ok with it. They said I needed to pay half the job up front before repairs. Ok.. I guess. This didn't seem normal to me, but I told them I'd come in on Friday to do it. Because it snowed on Friday, I called them up and asked if I could just pay by credit card. They said they couldn't take credit cards because their machine was broken and they weren't sure when it would be fixed. Since I needed to pay via credit, I started calling around and ended up getting an estimate from another garage about for $1000 less. When I talked to them the next day on Saturday, I told them I was going to move it to another garage and that other garage would come by on Monday to pick it up. They were mad because they had got their credit card machine fixed last night and could take my money now. Then they told me if that was the case then I'd have to pay them for a week of storage at $70 per day. I told them I would not pay that since those fees were never disclosed and they took 3 days to get me an estimate. The woman on the phone said the mechanic would have to call me back to talk about it. When the mechanic called, I told him I wouldn't pay the full storage charges because they were ripping me off. The guy goes mental on the phone and starts yelling and cursing at me using all sorts of profanity. I tell him not to talk to me that way and he tells me me not to tell him what to do, "nobody tells me what to do!". The guy is clearly unstable, and I don't like dealing with unstable people. He then tells me that I am going to pay for a week of storage AND $250 for his labor in diagnosing the problem (it was a transmission and he had it diagnosed the night he picked it up) Despite his rage, I stayed calm and firm and told him I would pay for his labor but not the storage fees. He told me if I could get the car off his lot now, he'd waive the storage fees. I am fine with this because I didn't want my car to be anywhere near this person any more, so I gave them my credit card number and called roadside assistance to come get my car away from this person. Normally this would be the end of this drama, however, not so with this garage. After much effort, I arranged for a tow truck to get there and get my vehicle. When the new tow truck driver got there, I get a call from him because there are "problems." The garage doesn't want to release my car because it takes two days to get funds cleared via credit card. I talked to the other mechanic there and he said if I wanted to get the car released, I was going to have to pay them now in cash. I told them that wasn't the way the world works. I then told him about the other mechanic and how he verbally berated and cursed me out. His response was, "From one man to another man, I would never apologize for something another man did. " I told him that as a business to a customer, he should definitely apologize for something his co-worker did. He puts me on hold and then after 5 minutes, he comes back on to tell me the credit card went through but there was another problem; they didn't have the key there. It was "in another car in another state". Unbelievable!!! So after all of that work of getting that tow truck there, I can't get my car towed away that day. The garage I'm moving it to was able to get the car moved away two days later and they were fantastic and totally professional. I have never been in a situation like this. Crazy!!

1 STAR -- EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL…read more This place is extremely unprofessional. No one answers the phone, and the information they have listed online is inaccurate. I had just purchased a vehicle that is brand new to me. The seller drove the vehicle to my rental community, dropped it off, and removed their tags. The vehicle had not even been sitting there for two hours after the tags were removed before GIR Towing and Recovery came into my community and towed it. What concerns me even more is the way the vehicle was removed. Instead of placing the vehicle on a flatbed, they dragged it out of the community. I sincerely hope there is no damage to my vehicle because of the way it was towed. I work from home and began calling them at approximately 12:30 p.m. I continued calling and sending text messages throughout the entire afternoon until I got off work at 7:00 p.m. Not one person answered my calls or responded to my messages. The phone number they provide is a cell phone number with no voicemail box set up, so you cannot even leave a message. Their information online says they are open 24 hours, but when I physically went to the location at approximately 7:20 p.m., they were CLOSED. I was then told that they actually close at 5:00 p.m. So which is it? If you are not open 24 hours, your business information should not say you are. If customers cannot reach anyone by phone or text, those should not be advertised as reliable ways to contact the business. At minimum, there should be a working phone number, voicemail, accurate business hours, and some way for a person whose vehicle has been towed to actually reach someone. Now I have to go back this morning, and because their posted hours apparently aren't accurate, I don't even know what time they actually open. This entire experience has been extremely frustrating and unprofessional. My biggest concern now is getting my newly purchased vehicle back and making sure there is no damage from the way it was removed and towed.
