Been here approx three times to use a gift card I received as a present. Every time I came here both my husband and I were displeased with the service and the food. The food just didn't taste right. Each time it was either too bland, too salty, or too greasy. We ended up just ordering beers to finish the balance on the card on our last visit. The atmosphere is way too loud and too many TV's playing. It's a shame cause the cabin feel of the restaurant would have been so much better if it wasn't over run by TV's. read more

Went to Jameson's today and got a salad. There was a bug in it so I told the waitress. She asked me if I wanted anything else and I told her a wrap. I was scared to eat it because of the bug in my previous salad so I only ate the fries. I expected her to say something other than I'm sorry for the bug in my food. Wish I could give zero stars. The only good thing about this place is that the bartenders are great. The food was horrible, overpriced and the place is dirty. No restrictions on wearing masks. Let me preface this by writing that I eat out 4-5 times Per week and have never experienced any form of food poisoning. I am an RN and was a Federal Nursing Hime inspector for 6 years . Part of my job was that inspect the kitchens and food processing for food borne illnesses. My mom and sisters and I ate here on Tuesday we all had steak. I have the steak tacos . My one sister had a ribeye steak sandwich, which she sent back because she said it didn't taste right. my mom and my other sister had the prime rib sandwich which they admitted tasted "funny," I think they only ate half of it I ate all of my steak tacos though it tasted a little strange , but I was starving so I ate it. We all ended up getting sick with abdominal cramping, vomiting and diarrhea which has lasted for three days for me. I reported this to the Will County Board of Health, who never came out to collect a stool sample. They told me they would send someone out to investigate. I just don't want anyone else to get sick, Edie silly children, the elderly or persons with compromised immune systems. I am not giving the restaurant any stars , but am unable to post unless at give at yeast one star. read more

3/17/17 The place is packed for St. Patrick's day.. It's been almost 5 years since I've been in here.. Same trashy short shorts on some of yhe servers.. I don't know why they need them. Great corned beef and cabbage, and I had a grouper reuben. Really tasty. She brought me a regular Reuben initially... Service was good, but we hot overcharged on our bill: soup comes with the grouper... ********************** GOOD GRIEF!! WHAT IS WITH THE TRASHY, SLUTTY HOSTESS OUTFIT??! SOOOO UNPROFESSIONAL. Just recently making the move back to the south burbs has reminded me of a few things. 1. You're all still here?? 2. Damn, I forgot how much longer it takes to get to the city. 3. There is a serious lack of places to hang/grab a good beer out here. I miss Bigby's... If it wasn't for a group of awesome friends to make bars out here bearable, I would have a serious stamp and/or coin collection going and would be polishing them right.. now. So, Jameson's. I remember when this place opened it was Northwoods. Seems like although this place has been a few different things since, the only thing that has changed is the name. It still looks like a log cabin. The one thing I'm glad hasn't changed, is the patio. It's a huge wood deck that overlooks nature type stuff. Preetty awesome on a summer night. The few times I have been here since it has been Jameson's I have been through the gauntlet of slow and forgetful waitresses (they dress as the other reviewers state- if you're into that sort of thing), overcharged on my tab for things I didn't order, eaten below average food, and forced to drink their small last season's craft selection. Booty-shorted servers in the south burbs? Where the Eff am I!?! Came here over the holidays for some good old fashion townie bar fun, and what I found was some pretty decent eye-candy in the most unassuming of places. I didn't try the food, but for a waterhole here's my analysis... The waitresses are cute and dressed provocatively, the crowd is much younger than I expected it to be (although I'm sure the holidays had something to do with it), the booze is dirt cheap, and there are tons of TV's. If I'm not mistaken I'd say they were trying to appeal to the 20 something demographic. Kinda weird considering when I was growing up this area was all families. I guess the neighborhood has changed, and Hooters ain't the only game in town anymore. People of suburbia...here's another option. read more

If I could give a negative star I would because they don't even deserve 1 star. Talk about piss poor customer service and complete failure of quality of food! So I order 3 pico burgers to go($37.91), well done. I drive 15 minutes away to our destination, it's now 9:20pm. We open and mouth is watering because they look delicious. My wife and daughter cut theirs in halves and they look good. I don't cut mine in half but instead take a bite. Medium to medium rare I'd call mine. I ate half of it attempting to eat around the edges trying not to eat pink ground beef. So a phone call is in order. A phone call is made and the woman on the other end basically said bring it back we'll make another. If I was dining in that wouldn't be much of an issue. But at 9:20 pm on a Thursday I will not be adding another 30 minutes of driving to get a replacement burger and eat 45 minutes later than my family! I suggested a credit, nope they wouldn't do that. And I'm not doing what they suggest so they can literally go pound sand! I try to visit or order from them once a month but after this poor choice of customer service they'll never get another dollar from me! Sincerely one pissed off customer PS... You gotta know what you're getting into here. Went for a late lunch on a Saturday with my husband, baby and another couple. Now, maybe it's the fact that me & the husband ain't exactly hittin it like we used to, but the waitresses donned in super short mini skirts and boots about sent him over the edge. I found the whole deal quite funny, but my friend, who's date could not stop commenting and staring, found it much less amusing. Maybe not so great family atmosphere, but hey, I didn't pick the place, and it didn't bother me. The food was good for what it was. I had a chicken wrap that had cheese, red onion, jalapeno, lettuce, bacon, ranch with the pasta salad. Really decent. They also had 22 oz. beer on tap on special for $3.50. Our server was great. Ladies, if you are secure in your relationship I'd say feel free to have a good time here. If not, I'd suggest coming here for a girls night out and going elsewhere with your man. read more

I just can't like this place. I come here when I don't want to bump into people I know. The service is ok I guess. They try. I just don't think any of them are cut out to actually be in the service industry. The food is just awful. I will make it work in a pinch (meaning drunk). Sober me can't eat here though. The drinks range from watered down to average. I would never suggest anyone going here unless it was a last resort. They do seem to always be open. I'll give them an extra star for that. read more

I am writing this review to save you from buyer's remorse...there are always loads of cars here and so I thought that was proof enough that something here is worth spending good money on. Here's what I knew in advance: it's a place that attracts locals and lots of dudes, the servers are women in tight shirts and short shorts (who cares), it's a burger and beer joint with a big patio. What I learned: it's so so very VERY mediocre, it's kinda grimy - the windows, the floors, the landscape beds ALL need a bath and a refresh, the food is shockingly average, I mean 100% Gordon Food Service with zero attempt to make it any more special. The beer list is BASIC, I mean really average. I wouldn't get wine here and doubt they have anything worth paying for. The entire place needs renovation, it's sad really as the patio overlooks a nice green space with a pond (but bring sunscreen during the day as zero efforts have been made to shade the patio except for cheap umbrellas that only work if the sun is directly overhead. The patio is allegedly smoke-free but we saw a few smokers - what the heck-?? This place needs an investor with money, management skills and a vision + talent in the kitchen. Yuck yuck and yuck. But if you are a restauranteur with deep pockets - this place could be good. It's like a C- student with potential but zero motivation. read more

So my friend always spoke highly of this place, and we finally got a group (4) to come here. The food was decent, fairly priced, and there's a decent beer selection. The atmosphere is really nice, with a cabin look to it and they have a loft area for parties. The reason for the 3 star review is because the waitress ended up getting all of the checks incorrect, and on closer inspection of them there was a surcharge of $0.35 on the tickets. Normally this wouldn't bother me because some places will charge to use a credit card if you don't order a certain dollar amount, but all of the tickets were over $12.00, and this place gets good business. At this point, the surcharge is just asinine, and they shouldn't be charging customers to use their card when paying for food. read more

First of all I loved this place as the Northwoods. The down side, people bring in a whole brood of spoiled yuppie larvae and they make no attempts to discipline them We went into Jameson's last night for the first time since they opened. I got the last parking spot available. We expected a long wait and we were given the standard "Minimum of 20 minute wait" which translates to much longer. There was an open high table as you walk into the bar area and we asked about that and sat right down. I agree with others about the server's showing too much cleavage and short shorts. While some could wear this, others should not. The food was reasonably priced. I asked our server for Salt & Pepper when she brought my salad. Well I finished it and when she brought the entrees, I again asked for it and she finally brought it. Other than that she was good. The food quality was pretty good also. The only downside it is so loud in there. This was the same when it was Northwoods. However, when it was the Fireplace it was more quiet because it was a little more pricey. If anything, I would ask...People if you want to go to dinner with your brood, especially young babies, head to Denney's, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Buffalo Wildwings...you get the picture. The place is a giant stone/log cabin which is nothing short of impressive & totally undeserving of Frankfort. That being said, it can still be a bit cramped on Friday & Saturday nights. Plenty of televisions to provide whatever sports teams are currently playing. You can easily be mesmerized by some of the best music videos of the 90's to today on those same televisions later at night..... a nice alternative to the standard Touch Tunes. You won't find any cheesy cover bands playing "Jesse's Girl" here, or any bands for all that matter. There is a small private party room upstairs with a full bar & it would be nice to see them utilize this with a DJ from time to time when it's not already booked. As previously mentioned by other reviewers, there's not an ugly server in the house, which is all the more reason to come here. As for the food..... I like to keep it simple with a burger & fries. Ya really can't go wrong there. If you plan on coming here with the wife & kids, just be out by 8 or 9. Because after that, it's just another bar, filled with bar type people, so don't complain about beer slugging meat heads or the occasional cat fight. read more

We took a seat at the bar and got a few drinks I had a mojito and it was very good my friend got a triple pour of vodka I believe it was a special only $7. The food arrived quickly after that and looked and tasted amazing, I had mango habanero wings and he had a chicken wrap. Good food and service. Came here for a quick bite with the wife before catching a movie at Emagine. The interior is really nice wood cabin feel. The huge bar is quite accommodating and there are more than plenty of TVs. The bar maid came by right away took our orders for beer and food. Monday's special turns out to be $5 Burger nite which was an absolute steal. My wife's Rueben was huge! Like a half pound of just meat huge. Three of us went in for lunch this week and were all impressed with the food and service. After reading some reviews here, we weren't sure what we'd get but we all walked out feeling it was better than we'd expected. The spinach and artichoke dip was very good. I've had it at numerous other restaurants and it was by far the best here. Just the cheese used seemed to be a better quality and it was just the right texture, not too runny and not too thick. We all opted for burgers and they were all done to perfection. I had the black and blue burger, and my only complaint, if I would have to have one, would be it could have used a little more blue cheese. Of course, I think anything could use more blue cheese! The service was fast and our waitress made sure our drinks were always full and always had a smile on her face. So I'll preface with I always enjoy Jameson's. This is my first time dining since the pandemic. There is ZERO social distancing, tables are within an arms reach and the place is filled. All the bar seats are filled and there are even standing room only patrons that are in the isles without masks. Staff (waitresses and managers) have been consistently seen either without masks, or their masks being pulled down to their neck. From a restaurant and bar that I used to love, I am deeply saddened by their blatant disregard for Covid related safety precautions. read more

Friends of mine that live in south suburbs frequent this place on Saturday or Sunday afternoons to watch football. I went along a couple times. I don't really understand the negative reviews. Yes the girls that work there wear jean shorts. Not a big deal. They are all friendly and fun. Especially my latest visit. My waitress named Gretchen and bartender named Cassie. Both were fantastic. I was there with a female friend by the way. Service was great. Efficient, friendly, and fun. Food is your typical bar fare. I rated it high for this category and not putting up against restaurants in Chicago. Layout of place is great. Restaurant style booths and table. Also lots of bar and high top tables.
