Her boss was unresponsive and finally after writing the home office we got some pathetic apologies and a ridiculous offer of 5000 points for our troubles. We will certainly avoid this hotel forever and I will also avoid IHG hotels whenever possible. This company really needs to read up on the term Customer Service. We are not there for their benefit.

On the surface it looked fine but then as I took a closer look at the beds I saw the sheets were extremely worn from overuse and that my pillow cases had make up on them. This sound was so loud that it woke me despite having a white noise machine on in my room and after putting a pillow over my head, the sound still kept me awake. So I've cancelled my reservation to return to this location next weekend and I hope the review saves someone from this same fate.

The hotel room had a number of significant issues…read more Specifically: 1. There was an infestation of flying black flies/gnats in the room. They were everywhere, getting into our food and beverage. One was discovered in the refrigerator. They were all over the bathroom: on the mirror, walls, shower, and toilet. I voiced my complaints. A different room was offered. The desk clerk informed me that these pests are "all over," including at the check-in counter. I have multiple red, itchy marks on my extremities. I believe the bugs bit me. Eating in the room and taking part in the continental breakfast made me nervous. A couple traveling from out-of-state said they noticed flying bugs in the breakfast area. I placed several cola, sweetened coffee, and sugar water covered containers and cups in the bed and bathroom. The cups had many, many drowned pests. The evidence was shown to the desk clerk. I spoke with another hotel guest who said the flying bugs were also in his room. Several guests who attended the church service also said they noticed numerous bugs flying around in the event room and landing on their food: "Yes, they're all over the room." 2. The event room was next to our room. There was a very large gathering of folks hosting a church service for 6 hours. The music was very loud with bongos and other instruments. We were assigned the room right adjacent to this event. With bongos and other instruments, the music was really loud. I voiced my displeasure with the loud noise. Every Sunday, the church has a service there, according to the desk clerk. I then questioned why I wasn't given the option to decide if I wanted to remain close to an event with so much noise. I didn't get a satisfactory response. 3. There was a problem with the microwave. It was replaced by the housekeeping staff. The replacement microwave did not work either. It would not open. We gave up. 4. The shower and sink had stains, and the bathroom was dirty. The walls were filthy. I discussed this with the housekeeper. To which she said, "Yes, we know." 5. There is mold and leakage on the ceiling just outside our room. 6. The lampshade has a big tear hole and is dusty and unclean. 7. The charging power port at the bed's left side was inoperable. What a terrible experience. We need a remedy.

At check-in, we were told the last wine tour started at 5:00 p.m., and it was already 4:45. I asked if we could go the next day (Monday), and the front desk agent assured us we could, saying they were open daily from 12-6. After settling into our room, we headed to Louis' House of Bourbon. The food was decent, but the drinks were excellent. The atmosphere alone made it worth the visit. The next day, however, we found out that the wine tours and tastings were actually closed on Mondays, which was disappointing given the information we were told at check-in. Still, we didn't let that ruin our trip. We went out to a nearby steakhouse for dinner and returned to the resort for drinks at what had quickly become our favorite spot, Louis'. I have to give a special shoutout to the staff, Manny, Anya, and Cole were amazing. They were attentive, friendly, and really elevated our experience. This "professional" ghosted me and lied to my credit card company that all issues were resolved. He asked me not to post reviews until the issues were handled. Im in the process of disputing the charge now. We booked a 3 bedroom villa, that, as I was told, had been recently renovated (NOT). My villa issues were: 1. They did not tell us the villa was offsite and there was never any parking when we needed to go onsite. There was 1 shuttle available to service everyone. We were always late for events. 2. The villa was not clean. We found multiple earring backs and glitter was all over the place. 3. The microwave over the range was broken so they placed tape on it and had another microwave sitting on a counter. 2. There was a very old air conditioning unit inside one of the rooms. It was to help cool the entire villa. The knobs on it were broken so it was either on (meat looker) or off (sauna). 4. I moved a trash can in a bathroom. There were cobwebs attached and spiders made a mad dash (I guess no one cleans the bathroom). 5. There were NO robes in the villa. Advertising says 2 robes per room. 6. One remote control worked all tv and the one remote had tape holding the batteries in, you could see the dirt on the tape. 7. No price list for snacks in the mini bar. I asked housekeeping for it and was told I'd have to get it from the front desk. 7. We had to make a grocery store run for paper towels and toilet tissue and water (1/2 roll was available and tissue was actual hard paper, water was Kirkland brand purified water). 8. No comp wine from the winery with no wine fridge (in a winery villa). Other area issues: 1..The website does not let you book anything for more than 2 people. I was told this by a staff member after calling and being on hold for 32 minutes. 2. I booked a spa day for 5 over the phone, when we got to the spa, I was told I was quoted the wrong pricing (I SAW pricing online AND called to book what I saw, with no issues). 3. The waiter at the Marc didn't ask us about food allergies. When we asked if there were nuts in the bread, he stated he would have to ask the chef. He came back and said the chef didn't know what was in the bread because they did not bake it onsite. 4. THERE WERE ROACHES AT THE MARC RESTAURANT (other guests took pictures of them). 5.Someone charged their breakfasts to my villa. I had to prove it was not correct by showing I had receipts for breakfasts for 5, offsite. After going over all of this (and more), no one at Chateau Elan would return my calls. I saw a LinkedIn post on Chateau's page from someone asking for a call back. I see this is the way they do business. So, I filed a dispute with my credit card company. Chateau Elan DID respond to them an told them all of my issues were resolved by the time I left, which was not true. I had girlfriends that needed to get to the airport and was told I would be able to resolve my issue later. All that to say, Chateau Elan is not what they advertise to be. The food is mediocre and overpriced, the customer service is horrendous and the overall experience was definitely a thumbs down. I DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone that has really experienced luxury. They are only "luxury" in price. This is a scam. Oh, and they only grow muscadines, thats how they are able to use the word "winery". Please read the real truth about what is going on behind the scenes before you or your family eat anything from this location: Re-serving Leftovers: Food that has already been served out to guests is routinely taken back into the kitchen, stuffed into the fridge, and then reheated and served again to new guests the next day. This is a massive cross-contamination risk and a direct violation of basic health codes. Reheating it does not make it safe once it has been sitting out. Expired Dairy Products: They are actively serving milk that is 3 to 4 days past its expiration date. Month-Old Specialty Items: They are using Starbucks-branded products and concentrates that are over a month expired. The Indian ownership running this establishment is choosing profit over human safety. Serving spoiled dairy and constantly recycling old food can cause severe food poisoning, vomiting, and dehydration. Looks new on the outside but a little bit rundown on the inside. Staff was OK not overly friendly. We had two rooms for the family. The air conditioning didn't work grade and one in the bathrooms in both were OK just not clean. The beds seem to be clean so that was important. They were going to grab breakfast at the hotel before they left, but it was a very sad continental breakfast even ran out of coffee and didn't have time to wait so they went to Waffle House across the street. Although I didn't stay there myself, Holiday ends are just not on my list and this one lives up to the reputation that I've now associated with the chain. Too bad this is a good location that should do well just doesn't seem to be managed properly. Do not recommend.!!
