We got the breakfast pancakes to split, which we were very curious about. It was somehow an excellent pancake and also a unique experience. I also grabbed the spinach scramble and my wife got the potatoes verdes. The chorizo in her dish was surprisingly good, but the true unsung hero was the homemade biscuit. Definitely grab one of those! The homemade hot sauce is excellent and not too spicy but packed with flavor. It adds a ton to their egg dishes. We are going back tomorrow to check out the banana bread French toast, which our waitress said is not to be missed, but we simply didn't have any more room in our stomachs! Update after day 2: skip the corn beef hash, and the omelet we got was just so-so. The "scramble" style egg dishes are much better. The home fries didn't get enough love in yesterday's review. They are quite excellent. And, the banana bread French toast was as advertised. Don't miss it. You can get a single slice as a side order for five bucks as of this writing, and you will not regret it. Again, excellent and friendly service and my kind of music.

The food is delicious. In a small town of around 6,000 residents, this diner is the place to eat. Portions are hearty and cooked to order. A great restaurant that I will definitely return to soon.

Upon walking in you'll notice that it is a very small restaurant with their lights dimmed low. The bar area is ready to be taken in photo and put in one of those decorations magazines. The hostess was great, the waiter we got was really friendly, knowledgeable and the food recommendations were FANTASTIC. We got the chicken wings with pickled carrots and house ranch, the side of pulled pork, their Pig Mac burger (a double) and their duck fat French fries (OMG). Everything was good, we would just look at each other and say "did you try this, did you have a bite of that?" my only regret is that I didn't get a chance to try their skillet cookie and that we live more than an hour away. We will definitely go back and eat at this restaurant again.

It gets busy and they don't take reservations. They do have an online waitlist but we went around 4:30 and didn't have to utilize it. Our party of 6 climbed camel's hump earlier in the day and showed up famished. We knew this was the right pig out spot for us to refuel from the moment we walked in, smelled the food and saw the amazing ceiling-high bar. The smoked meats were outstanding. High quality cuts smoked to perfection. We had an order of every meat they offer and they were all just as good. That being said, I could go back just for the cornbread w maple butter. My word, it was like eating cake for dinner. The Mac & cheese was ooey and gooey with a nice crispy top. And the cookie skillet was like a party in your mouth. We didn't think we'd be able to finish everything but there wasn't a crumb to be found when we were done. As far as service goes, it was as good as I've ever had at a place like this. Our server was laid back yet always on top of things. We never waited for anything and her timing was perfect. There's outdoor seating if that's your jam. We sat in the large table by the window and got to look out on main st. It couldn't have been more perfect.

Locally sourced food, so the menu changes regularly based on what's available. Everything was full of flavor. Recommend checking out the daily cheese selection. For example only one or two things on the yelp menu were on the menu I received 2) New American is a very apt characterization of the menu with emphasis on new. As in new to the point of unusual/unfamiliar/avant guard. 3) I am not a huge fan of cruciferous vegetables and the offering was chock full of them, like Ham and Pork Belly with buttered Cauliflower 4) I could not find an entree that sounded terrific from the 4 offered that day. The hanger steak on the menu Yelp showed would have been great. 5) I had two of the starters - chicken liver pate with grilled bread and salami cotto. They were good. Pate is hard to make into a stand out. The Salami appeared to be made in house and was quite good but would have been better to share -- it's a lot of salami 5). The place was full and loud. Not sure why restaurants with hard surfaces and high ceilings think bass driven background music is the thing to do, but it appears to be. The noise volume detracted from the intimacy of a couples dinner. If you are really adventurous- this place is for you. If you favor the more familiar with a twist, you may be there the wrong night.

We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Not bad at all!! Our server was energetic and accommodating. She cheerfully answered all our questions and honored our request to get a margherita pizza as an appetizer. The aforementioned pizza arrived in no time. It was good. Not the best ever, but still quite solid. The star of the culinary show was the salmon entree. Both my wife and I got it and we both loved it. It was a big piece of wood fired salmon and came with a nice assortment of roasted veggies. I'm talking real veggies--zucchini, broccoli, fingerling potatoes, the works. Neither one of us are big drinkers, but there are LOTS of microbrews on tap if you're into that kind of thing. The dining room was lively without being too noisy. Both of us enjoyed hanging out there. It would be a great place to have a beer and watch baseball on TV. Will definitely return the next time I'm in town.

Unfortunately, this was no longer on the menu but we thought we'd give something else a try...starting with French fries (these were good). Then we shared the carnitas sandwich and delicata squash. Both of these items have a lot of potential, but the chef missed the mark. The carnitas sandwich was 95% fat and we couldn't eat it. When we let the waitress know (not expecting anything other than providing feedback), she seemed annoyed but proceeded to provide a discount to accommodate us. Shifting to the squash...it's spicy. We are certain cayenne was used, even though the menu list pomegranate molasses...the skins weren't removed and overall just wasn't something we'd recommend. We left most of the bowl behind. Anyways. The menu does appear like it has potential just needed more TLC when making the food. We appreciate the wait staff trying to make up for the negative experience with the food, but also would appreciate the attentiveness from the waitress. They did seem short staffed, so she may have been stressed out but when a customer provided feedback...maybe take it more graciously? Overall, this feels like typical resort food. So if your into that type of food, enjoy!
