I am literally typing my first ever Yelp review to rave about the staff at this dental office. I had to have my first ever filling performed by Dr. Meinert a few weeks ago and it turns out I do NOT handle dental work well. Both Dr. Meinert and the hygienist were beyond patient with me as I worked to breathe through the procedure, allowed me to take several breaks when needed, and never once made me feel like a burden for slowing things down. Mind you, this was a completely pain free, routine procedure. I really am unsure why my body responded so dramatically. This did not bother them, they were professional, compassionate, and gentle from start to finish. I couldn't have asked for better care. THEN the receptionist team. My goodness. I had already been delighted by their friendly demeanor when I checked in and waited in the waiting room, but after seeing me a little visibly shaken as I was exiting the dentist office they REACHED OUT AND DIGITALLY SENT ME A STARBUCKS GIFT CARD and wished me well. I can not get over the level of generosity and care I have now felt from this entire team. I find it difficult to find that perfect balance between exceptional health care while still maintaining the family-friendly office feel. Dr. Meinert and his staff have achieved this in such a special way. I look forward to visiting them every six months from here on out :) read more

I am a UC Davis graduate with SHIP insurance. I wanted to take advantage of my insurance because it was expiring soon so I made an appointment for an exam and cleaning. I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist because the last time I went I was quoted $4000 for a cleaning and I left in tears. This visit was drastically different. Everyone I encountered here was friendly, helpful, and passionate about their job. Angie at the front desk happily rescheduled my appointments after my work schedule changed due to covid. The dental hygienists took their time explaining each step to me and the two cleanings that I received has immensely improved my smile and my confidence. I cannot say enough great things about this office and everyone that works there. I truly appreciate the attention, the knowledge, and the kindness that was shown to me and the level of care and detail that was spent improving my oral health. read more

I was a patient here for 8 years and I have nothing but great things to say. 1) I never waited more than 5 minutes before I was called in to start my appointment 2) The staff are welcoming and wonderful. Low turnover rate for staff- I had the same hygienist for basically a decade 3) My cleanings were always super thorough and done well 4) They are so accommodating. Once or twice I've showed up super late to an appointment, or had to leave early, etc. and they always tried to meet my needs and accommodated me and never charged me any penalties 5) I always left an appointment feeling like my teeth were well cared for I just recently started going to a new dentist because my insurance changed and am devastated at how lacking in quality the new place is in comparison. I was spoiled for so long with Dr. Meinert and staff. Love you guys!!! Hope that one day I can be a client again. read more

Just had my semi-annual cleaning done here. I've been coming to Dr. Meinert's office for over 10 years, and I have to disagree with the other reviewers take. They are a very modern dentist office, with the latest equipment. I spoke with one of the Hygienists about the poor review, and she reported that the office staff met about that and are taking the criticism seriously. Personally, I never have seen any of the problems the other reviewer mentioned,. She did tell me that the few things you find covered in plastic are for the patients protection, and explained to me how this is much more sanitary than the alternative. I'm dental-phobic, but the staff here makes me feel very comfortable every time I go in. As I said, I'm a long-standing patient, I drive all the way from Vacaville to go to this office, and I will probably continue to go here forever. These 5 stars are deserved! read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. Great Doctor, with an absolutely amazing support staff. They actually treat their patients like individual people, and they don't try and sell you services you don't need. My kids were going to a different dentist in Vacaville because it's closer to where we live. We had a really bad experience with them (I left them a review as well! :) and I ended up dropping in on Dr.Meinert because the vacaville dentist couldn't help us. Even though he was fully booked he took the time to peek in my kids mouth and let me know what was going on. Someone in another review said the office "looked old"...that's silly. I learned the hard way that a super nice office doesn't mean anything. A super nice office is how my kid ended up with a dental issue Dr.Meinert had to fix. And the billing/support staff are wonderful. I drive from Vacaville to go there. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Meinert a few years back and the only thing I didn't like about his practice was him. His office location is pretty cool and his support dental staff were just wonderful which is why i give him three stars, but him....meh. Several times I asked him questions that he flat out just ignored, and its not like I was talking his ear off, just had one or two questions about my teeth. I guess he thinks that a dental god like himself doesn't need to bother himself with responding to a patients questions. At my last visit he basically told me i had a ton of cavaties and "problem teeth", saying they looked good superficially but i would need lot of dental work probably my whole life. Understandably I was a bit taken aback by that. Especially since he clearly wasn't going to take the time to explain himself.....after that I switched dentists and since then I have had several great dentist all of whom when I ask about my "problem teeth" say that they have no clue what he was talking about. Oh and all those cavaties i had? Its been several years and dentists later and they have yet to materialize! Infact the Dr I saw immediatly following Dr. Mienert said he was going to have to re-take all the x-rays that got sent over from his office since they were so low quality he couldn't use them. read more

Can't say enough praise about this dental office. My daughter attends UC Davis and was having pain for days. Since we live in Southern California we didn't know where to go. A friend from Davis gave me Dr. Meinert's name and... wow was I happy! Angie at the office arranged it so my daughter could get in the next day and they worked with our insurance. My daughter said the office was nice and the staff friendly. In fact, she wants to make a complete switch from her SoCal dentist to Dr. Meinert. Thanks for easing a worried mom :) read more

Pathetic service. My first appointment was a cleaning, X-rays and checkup. The rooms are creepy, without proper walls and doors, it was like having dental work in an office cubicle, and the place smelled like cheese. Old cheese. The hygienist was just completely unpleasant to be near, let alone have her hands in my mouth. She stunk. Both body odor and bad breath. Really bad breath. Poor demeanor, poor dental cleaning skills. I honestly could not wait to get away from her. When Dr. M came in he acted as completely disinterested in me both as a customer and a patient. I told him of a tooth that was causing me discomfort, He looked at X-rays, talked about this and that and left without recommending a treatment. I sat there a bit and the hygienist escorted me to the front. The receptionist was busy texting on her phone and I waited for her to finish and she began to check me out, then the office manager returned from wherever, huffing and puffing about this and that and was so nervous being in her presence made me want to be anywhere that was not next to her. She said Dr. M had told her to schedule me for a crown. I told her he hadn't told me that, so she flounced back down the hall to get him and he came up front, obviously perturbed, and acted like he was doing me a huge favor to explain my treatment plan, none of which included the tooth that was causing me discomfort. I agreed to the plan, scheduled the initial appointment, then they said I would have to have a temp. filling for THREE WEEKS! So I scheduled the second appt. for 3 weeks later. I was very uncomfortable with this entire situation and can not believe it takes that long to get a crown made. Where do they get them, India??? I went home extremely unhappy with the ENTIRE experience. I called the next day and cancelled the two appointments. Over the next month, the office manager called no less than ten times to try and schedule the appointments again, each time sounding more and more aggravated that I would not schedule the appointment. Finally I told her I would call them if I wanted to schedule an appointment and to leave me alone. Four months later I went in for another cleaning. My appointment was at 8am so I was there 15 minutes early like they said. No one was there and the door was locked.At the stroke of 8, Ms.Text Messenger showed up and began unlocking the door. I asked her if she was from Dr M's office and she said yes. I told her I had an appointment at 8 and she said ok. I told her it was impossible to keep an 8 am appointment with me if they didn't open the office BEFORE 8. She just glazed over like I had just asked her to explain the theory of relativity in pig latin. Then she said "we have to park way over there". I told her I didn't care where they parked, my appointment was for 8am. Then she point across the street and says"it's fine, I see one of the hygienists now", to which I replied. It's not fine. I am not going to sit here and get treated like garbage, cancel my appointment and forget about ever seeing me again. If you have one shred of self respect you will not condone the horrid practices of this sham of a business. What a complete and undeniable joke this practice is. You've been warned read more

I wish I had read the reviews first, after two years of going here I finally decided it was time for my family to leave. The cleanings were never very good and the dentist always seemed to find problems where there were none. The last time I was there, he needed to rebond a tooth. He spent only 15 minutes on it, it stuck out strangely and fell out of my mouth 5 days later. It took a month to get reimbursed, Also, they kept sending us bills when really they ended up owing us money for over billing . Old office, everything is covered with plastic. Staff will put their fingers in your mouth, touch the keyboard, then put their fingers back in your mouth. Not very sanitary. Dentist was neutral, however the staff that works with billing is absolutely terrible. They try to find excuses for you to come back so they can bill you over and over again. Terrible experience, definitely go to a different dentist if you can. read more

Although I recently moved to Davis and just started as a patient with Dr. Meinert, my experiences here have been very good. The staff is friendly and responsive, and I appreciated that they accepted my recently taken x-rays from my previous dentist rather than demanding new ones. My first cleaning went well. And, I recently broke a tooth and they fit me in for a bonding very quickly. Dr. Meinert explained the process clearly and welcomed my questions. I also found him to be very gentle. read more

Never have I been so impressed with a dental office! Dr. Meinert and Staff were super helpful and very friendly! The office was clean and I enjoyed the huge windows in the room over looking downtown. I will definitely be taking my family here. read more
