Although my first impressions of Dr. Lipton are based on a consultation regarding sleep apnea and the creation of a mandibular advancement device (MAD) in order to prevent health risks relating to non-treatment of sleep apnea, my impressions were so favorable that they have persuaded me to have him perform needed dentistry beforehand on the "foundation of one's teeth" for which an oral appliance resides. The exam that I received was one of the most thorough examinations I have ever encountered. It is evident that Dr. Lipton cares. As a courtesy, he forwarded an x-ray of a filling that looked suspect to a colleague specialist for review as a second opinion. Additionally, Dr. Lipton demonstrated his expert knowledge and patience in the time he spent during the consultation and examination explaining and clarifying information that he presented. Since he educates future Indianapolis University Dental Students at Indianapolis, I assume and trust he must remain relevant and state-of-the-art in his technique and approach while using research-based knowledge modelled and transmitted through his practice. He also has the newest innovations in regard to his equipment used such as, x-rays. His logic for his recommendations were so visible and obvious through x-rays that magnified decay and problematic areas of my teeth at so much more clarity than I have ever witnessed before. It is also evident that he pays attention to all details in his practice: his techniques, technology and equipment, the surrounding environment and the approach and training of his staff. Most impressive is the staff's approachability, friendliness, courtesy, knowledge, efficiency and eagerness to help in any way possible with questions regarding service, insurance and payment. It is noteworthy that the office provides a medical Care Plan form for which one can apply. It was comforting to know that Dr. Lipton is sympathetic to the costs of care for his patients. For the first six months of the credit card expense, Dr. Lipton pays the six percent required of the Care Plan card. In retrospect, during my first visit with Dr. Lipton, I found him to be an expert in his field: meticulous, approachable, honest, empathic, friendly, humorous, caring and kind and look forward to further collaboration efforts with him in restoring my teeth so that we can begin the process of restoring my sleep, increasing my overall health and satisfaction in life. Let me start by saying I'm so glad I made that telephone call! I have not been to a dentist for 30yrs, because of my fear and the day I called Dr Liptons office i was crying like a baby. I broke 2 of my teeth so I had no choice but to see a dentist, when the receptionist answered my call and she heard my voice and my problem I was put through to Mary right away, she calm me down and soothed me.I was given an appointment the same day, (thank you so much Mary )When I got to the office i was a wreck!The staff was great they didn't make me feel like it was all in my head and they didn't judge me because I haven't been to the dentist in 30yrs. They understood my fear and made me comfortable, I was taken to the back right away. Someone was always with me ,Dr Lipton came in right away i didn't have to wait long. He let me explain my fears he listened and he didn't rush me along, he gave me time to move to the next step. He explained everything to me in which I had to have some extraction work done and he sent me to a oral surgeon who understood my fears.He not only takes care of you in his office, but he also takes care of you when you need work done outside of his office. When I got to Dr Pulver office Dr Lipton had already called to let them know about my fears. Dr Pulver and his staff was great! On the day of surgery Dr Lipton called to make sure everything was okay, Surgery went great! The most beautiful thing about this story is about 6pm that evening I got a call from Dr Lipton! He was out of town but he made time to check on me, because he knows my fear. It was the best thing ever, He touched my heart and made me cry. A visit to Dr. Lipton's office is an experience that will, without a doubt, help even the most fearful and apprehensive patient work towards overcoming his or her dental phobia. I know this first hand, as I have personally walked through his doors a frightened and anxious patient in need of dental treatment. During my first visit, I was immediately impressed with Dr. Lipton, as he took the time to talk with me, at length, about my dental fears and anxieties. He has helped me put to rest many of my longstanding "dental fears" by explaining his professional philosophy of emphasizing patient comfort while providing quality dental care. I've skipped going to the dentist for many years due to my own fears of the dentist. If I had known there was a dentist like Dr. Lipton out there, I would have gotten my "smile" back on years ago. Walking into Dr. Lipton's office, his staff (many who have been with him for 10+ years) greeted all the patients like close family friends....very comforting to me. I didn't have to wait long to be brought back into a room to meet Dr. Lipton. He made me feel SO at ease. He didn't make me feel ashamed or embarrassed about my dental neglect. He took his time explaining my options and even showing me on monitor pictures (not xrays) of my teeth. As I'm walking out, I notice all the dental diplomas and certificates Dr. Lipton has achieved. I had one of the best dental experiences after going to Dr. Lipton. Not only were he and his staff extremely nice and attentive, they made me feel so comfortable. I've always hated going to the dentist, but after going to Dr. Lipton, I will never go see another dentist. His office was super clean, they have the most up to date technology, and have flat screens in every room so people can watch tv instead of worrying about what's going on inside their mouth. He actually cares about his patients and makes sure everyone is taken care of to the full extent. If you're looking for a dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Lipton and if you're not from the area, he is definitely worth the trip. I was always afraid to go to the dentist- so much that I did not for over 20 years. Then dental issues arose that forced me to go if I wanted to eat. I found Dr. Lipton via the internet and decided to give him a try because he specializes in fearful patients. He is very gentle and thorough. He explains what he sees and shows you a picture of your mouth so you can see what the issues are. A lot of my fears came from my childhood experiences. Well dentistry has changed a lot since then. I had not gone to the dentist in years and I was a little nervous. Dr. Lipton's staff and especially Dr. Lipton made me feel so much at ease. It is evident he is a perfectionist at what he does. He is also very caring and friendly. He really takes his time with his patients.
