I had to reschedule my fiancé's appointment (which, mind you, they've been milking his insurance with these unnecessary three‑month cleanings) because he had an emergency job come up. The job ended up taking longer than expected, so I called again the next day to move it. The attitude from the front desk was completely unnecessary. They told me nothing was available until December unless someone canceled. I asked how we were supposed to know about cancellations, and they told me we'd have to keep calling to check. Next thing I know, they went ahead and scheduled him anyway -- on a random day and time that didn't even work for us -- without asking or confirming anything. He had to rearrange his whole schedule just to make an appointment we didn't even book. And on the day of that appointment, they told him his insurance "wasn't going through." I'm panicking, calling around, trying to figure out what's wrong, only to find out it was their mistake again and the insurance was fine. At this point, I don't know what's going on in that office. The amount of scheduling errors, miscommunication, and attitude is unacceptable. Either the staff is getting lazy, forgetting how to do their jobs, or they need new people who can handle the workload correctly. But something needs to change. We will not be returning to this dentist office. The constant mistakes, lack of communication, and unprofessional attitude have made it clear that our family's time and care are not a priority here.

If you are dealing with the scheduling staff, you might have a different experience. It feels like high-pressure sales when they persistently try to schedule check-ups even if you don't want them every six months (e.g. my husband.) Billing can be a challenge if your address is changing. I have always paid my dental bills on time for the past few years, but when I notified them my address was changing, they told me I was required to pay my entire dental bill upfront. I have had two dental fillings replaced, which have both been negative experiences for me. One composite filling was replaced with an alloy filling that the dentist pressured me into, and I have had sensitivity issues ever since and weaker teeth. The other composite filling was replaced and less than 48 hours later, my tooth fractured. I was NOT informed about the risks or how large the filling was. I felt like the filling itself was rushed and that a poor job had been done. I did not feel comfortable telling the dentist I thought it was his fault because what do I know about dentistry? He did not take any responsibility for the tooth damage - blamed it on my tooth. They gave me an immediate X-ray and told me I needed a crown. I decided to get the crown elsewhere, and they would not release the X-ray to the other dentist until our "outstanding balance" - that we always pay with the dental insurance reimbursement check - was "paid in full now." I'm not sure what to think, except that this place does shoddy dental work and does not treat good-paying customers with respect.

**Disappointing Experience at Aspen Dental - More Focused on Selling Services Than Addressing My…read morePain** I visited Aspen Dental because I was experiencing significant pain in a back tooth on the left side of my mouth. Unfortunately, I left feeling frustrated, pressured, and completely dissatisfied with the care I received. My experience started poorly when the staff failed to verify my dental insurance, even after I explained that I had coverage and that my insurance information should already be on file from a previous visit--which, incidentally, had also been unsatisfactory. Nevertheless, I paid the amount requested upfront before being taken back for X-rays. Before the X-rays were even performed, I was asked whether I would be willing to pay for a deep cleaning if they determined one was necessary. Looking back, this should have been my first warning sign. After the X-rays, I was placed in an examination room where the dental hygienist briefly reviewed my X-rays, glanced inside my mouth, and informed me that I needed a deep cleaning. Shortly afterward, the dentist came in, briefly examined my X-rays and teeth, and repeated the same recommendation. I specifically asked about the pain that had brought me there in the first place. Rather than providing a clear explanation of what was causing my pain or discussing treatment options, the dentist simply stated that he would prescribe a mouthwash for me to use until I received the deep cleaning. I was then directed to the financial consultation desk, where I learned that my examination and X-rays were covered by insurance, but the recommended deep cleaning would cost over $4,000. After insurance, my out-of-pocket responsibility would still be approximately $2,000. When I asked whether I could have one side of my mouth cleaned at a time to make the expense more manageable, I was told the dentist preferred to complete the entire procedure at once. Instead, I was encouraged to apply for medical financing to cover the cost. Despite my continued questions and concerns, the financial representative seemed more interested in scheduling the procedure than addressing my concerns. I was even told they could perform the cleaning later that same afternoon. At that point, I felt extremely pressured and uncomfortable. I declined the appointment because my immediate concern--the tooth pain that brought me to Aspen Dental--had not been adequately explained or resolved. I ultimately contacted another dental office, where my pain issue was addressed and resolved. **My biggest disappointment is that I went to Aspen Dental seeking relief from pain, but the experience seemed to revolve around selling me an expensive procedure and arranging financing.** I am not suggesting that a deep cleaning was unnecessary, but I expected a thorough examination, a clear explanation of my pain, and an opportunity to understand my treatment options without feeling pressured into an expensive procedure. Patients deserve to feel heard, respected, and confident that their immediate dental concerns are being taken seriously. Based on my experiences, I will never return to Aspen Dental, nor would I recommend them to anyone seeking dental care.
