I finally committed to trying this office and have had such great experiences all three times that I have been there. The dentist, Matt, is friendly and doesn't push unnecessary procedures. His wife runs the practice with him, and you can see pictures of their family (and the hygienist's families) around the office. Natalie and Sarah have cleaned my teeth. They were both thorough and very sweet, and they gave helpful tips/info about how to improve my oral health and get into good habits with my one year old. I'm leaving a more detailed review in case you're as nervous as I am about going to the dentist. I'm recommending this place to anyone looking for trustworthy care.

What a knucklehead head right , My husband waited for 30minutes after his scheduled appointment, missed 2 hrs from work just to get there on time . Did my research and Dr Stenson Womack was my choice. Went in for my 6 month cleaning, they took extensive x-rays and was surprised by the New technology they used to take photo's of my teeth. They took me in right away. I was able to discuss my plan with the Dentist and he was friendly. The assistant was nice and the practice just moved into a new place so everything was new and clean. The xray machine was interesting. It was portable and looked like a camera. I will continue my treatments here and see how it goes.

I went in for emergency care for a toothache in a molar when my regular dental office was often booked out and told me my insurance maxed out which I thought couldn't be correct as I didn't know dental insurance often had limits on what it will cover each year. Had to make multiple appointments and they were all close together. At Placerville Dental, the receptionist lady who handles billing told me that my insurance would fully cover it. A few months later, I received a surprise bill statement in the mail of nearly $1,000, apparently, I was lied to. I called asking why this happened. I was told it just took a while to verify with my insurance. Seems like a lame excuse. They said I had five cavities in my lower teeth. They numbed my entire lower jaw and did five fillings at once. Later, one of my premolars had a toothache. My regular dentist from Mather Field Dental recommended I get a root canal in that tooth and consult with an endodontist. The endodontist looked at my X-rays and said that the filling Placerville Dental placed in that tooth is right up against the nerve, irritating it. I got a root canal in the tooth that probably could have been avoided if the dentist at Placerville Dental did a better job. Placerville Dental did a cleaning and a non-surgical laser treatment in addition to a cleaning I got. As someone with health-related anxiety/OCD, this gave me the illusion that I was being given exceptional care. One of the times at Placerville Dental, when I expressed dental discomfort, the dentist dismissed me saying it was food on my teeth, which I did have as I didn't have time to brush my teeth properly beforehand. Yes, it's a good idea to clean your teeth right before dental appointments, but the dentist remarked that in such a way that it made me feel scolded. How rude. At one point, the dentist at Placerville Dental took X-rays and this time said the tooth with the toothache had irreversible pulpitis, but when I went to an emergency visit with my regular dentist, Dr. Tapang at Mather Field Dental, he took an X-ray and he also agreed that there was an infection in the tooth. He prescribed me a course of antibiotics and it made the toothache go away while Placerville Dental didn't do sh*t.

After many many months of research and putting it off I finally called Dr. Falvey's office. From start to finish it was the best dental experience I have every had. Everyone was extremely kind, calm and patient, including the receptionist, the hygienist and Dr. Falvey. There was no judgement and lots of listening and understanding of how my phobia developed. Michelle, the hygienist was gentle, regularly checked in with me and told me I could use nitrous if needed. I never actually needed it! Dr. Falvey came up with a treatment plan that incorporated my phobia and changing my pattern of going from deep cleaning to deep cleaning. The receptionist encouraged me on the way in for having made it to the appointment and on the way out for making my next one. The first visit with x-rays was pricey but for me its worth the extra cost to actually go, have a positive experience and avoid more expensive problems later. Follow up visit prices seem pretty in-line with other dentists. If you are fearful of the dentist this is the place for you.

I wasn't a patient but he quickly assessed the problem and I was out of the office in less than an hour and did I mention I wasn't even a patient? I was so pleased and want to become a new patient and the staff was very accommodating. My new patient visit is scheduled for later this month. Great doctor and great staff. Highly recommended.
