Everything was excellent -- I basically inhaled the chili. The menu even included notes on pairing beers with each entrée or appetizer, which I appreciated. One thing I really liked about the oysters was that they were served on top of the ice rather than in it. I've been to places where the ice melts and leaves the oysters sitting in water, which isn't ideal. This restaurant clearly avoided that mistake. The kitchen was quick with our food and clearly held itself to a high standard of quality. It had been a long day for me, so maybe it was exactly what I needed. The restaurant itself isn't too small to feel cramped but just the right size to feel cozy -- high ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, and a comfortable atmosphere. I would definitely come back.

I had a chef's salad with salmon. The salmon was some of the best I've ever had (salmon is also a favorite of mine so I've had quite a bit). It was salty with a beautiful glaze on the top, I would order it again in a heartbeat. I had a bit of the burnt end poutine as well. I wasn't crazy about it but it was still very tasty. The gravy that came with it was delicious. The only dish I had that I considered mediocre was the salmon burger. Like I said before, I really like salmon and this burger didn't seem to do the flavors justice. It felt muffled by the bun and other toppings. To finish it off I also ordered the blueberry lemon cheese cake and the chocolate cake. Both of which were delicious! The chocolate cake came with some strawberries on the side that added a nice freshness to the dessert. The cake itself was a bit dry, but tasty nonetheless. The cheesecake was absolutely delicious and was my preferred desert. Topped with a healthy pile of blueberries, in a delicious syrup. It looked and tasted delicious (and was quite a large slice). The service we had was also great. Our waiter came to check on us throughout our meals and gave us some recommendations which I found very helpful.

One pizza that was supposed to have no onions, had onions. The pizza that was supposed to have extra cheese, had no cheese at all. The extra cheese was put on a pizza that was for someone who does not like cheese. I phoned them up and they were supposed to give me a refund, but they didn't. The manager was supposed to call me, but he didn't. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

When I was visiting my brother and he suggested Griffin's for our late lunch, I asked him if it was good, be said 'not bad!' I was semi sceptical as it's a pub on an army base, and looked just like any other whole in the wall pub you run into. My brother was right though, it wasn't bad. Besides our table of two there was another table of 3 near by, as I said, we went for a large lunch, so everyone was probably back to work at this point. Our server was on the ball - super friendly, quick witted, I liked her! Service was a little slow, but I believe that's the kitchens fault, not hers. My brother had the buffalo chicken sandwich, which I guess he has ordered several times before. He also got a poutine, he said they had good gravy. I ordered the clubhouse + fries, gravy on the side. I agree, they do have good gravy! The clubhouse was also good, as you would expect it to be, the fries as well. I wouldn't hesitate to go back again should I be in the area!

The food was very good. We enjoy the Italian Steak Harvest bowl and Cilantro Lime rice bowl with shrimp. Both were delicious and left us feeling comfortably full with energy to continuing driving. The shrimp was marinated in the cilantro bowl and the dressing has a perfect balance of cilantro and lime. The cilantro blends in and does not overpower the bowl. The roasted pumpkin seeds and red cabbage added nice crunch to the bowl. The steak was cooked perfect and was cut into bite sized pieces before being cooked. The Irish Hog was delicious, the applewood smoked bacon and a couple of other things that were on that burger... What I didn't like about it though was that the burger was very small and the buns were huge -- so that wasn't the best but everything else was pretty good. If you are sharing all the food including the mains, and you prefer your food absolute fresh and hot, the server is more than willing to bring out your dishes as soon as they are ready (instead of waiting until all dishes are ready to serve the mains together). The mussel with dill cream sauce is really creamy, I can almost drink all the sauce by itself. The portion of Philly cheese steak is loaded with cheese and mushrooms, there is a lot of steak too. The proton is really huge that it seems like double the size of some cheap restaurants. Striploin is done well to my liking. You can almost feel the tender texture comes from dry age process. The only thing I am appointed is the fried smoked pork belly on the tapas menu. It is just too dry, and the pork is way too small inside the thick breading. Basically, you can't taste anything other than the dried breading. If it weren't because of the sweet hot sauce, I would not even put a second piece in my mouth.
