Food is alright ig. Basically tastes like frozen burger patties. It's ok for the price but there are better options out there.

The burger was made with some kind of magic or something, i dont know for sure but maybe Bigfoot had something to do with it. We were driving up from Nanaimo to Fanny Bay and decided to make a pit stop here for lunch. What a…read moregreat decision that was! They have patio seating and a nice open area for ordering lineups and parking. We got a couple items and they were all fresh, delicious, and generous in portion size. Although they're mostly known for burgers, we ordered a fish and chips for variety. It came with 2 large pieces of lightly battered fish, crispy on the outside and flakey fish inside without being heavily oily. The coleslaw it came with was the only thing we didn't enjoy, as it was too creamy and didn't have much flavor. We got three burgers: 5 alarm, classic and little foot. All the burgers had a delicious beef patty which was juicy inside, a little crispy outside and just enough char flavor (not burnt). 5 alarm had deep fried jalapenos which was quite a pleasant surprise. The classic was a good size and well-balanced. The Little Foot was the priciest of the 3 but definitely worth the extra dollars as it comes packed with goodies! Requires some assembly, but what a beauty when it's all put together! Overall it was a wonderful experience for amazing burgers and worth the drive out! Reasonable prices for generous portions!!

We put our name in and the wait was only 15 mins so not too bad considering how packed the place was our server was out going & that always makes for a nice time the 2 piece fish and chips were really enjoyable I especially liked the very thin crispy batter and also the chutney that came with it really different in a good way my wife had the Seafood Chowder with Bannock to start and loved it also the Avocado bowl with Salmon for her main and she said it was just what she needed lots of good nutritious food and the Salmon was cooked to perfection I also had a couple of their great dark ales, would definitely have those again The meals were a good serving enough that we passed on dessert As for price point a little more than other places but not out of line considering the quality of the ingredients and the serving size I wouldn't hesitate to return for another very enjoyable meal thx to all at Fern and Cedar

Since we're from Van we don't get to go here as often as we'd like but wow what a knockout brewery! The interior has gotten even better since the first time we went! The ferns from the hanging baskets above are beautiful, the plants throughout the space give it such an earthy BC forest vibe it's gorgeous. The patio too! What a great spot to post up and enjoy a delicious lunch and some beers. This time I got a non alcoholic Cesar to drink and I loved the garnish of jerky, bean and pickle. My husband got a beer which he loved. For eats we ordered the chowder of course with the side bannock (a must) and the shrimp and lobster lettuce wrap and the broccolini - everything was delish. Service was excellent as always and we will of course be back in a few years I hope if not sooner!

This place is absolutely a tourist trap, and that's okay, because if you are here, and you know…read morethat it is, and yes, there are Goats on the Roof, then you are going to love this place. Firstly, if you come here "late" like after 10am, then it might be a messy bit to find parking, but there is both parking behind and down along the drive into the property, or across the street also. Once you park, I recommend just heading to the Old Country Market itself, find a space a few meters back, and look on the roof, The roof has a rotating set of goats, which live up top. They are the attraction, and that is it. You got a place with Goats... on... the... roof. Once you have accomplished that, time to head inside and check out the offerings. First, if you are just rushing through, it's just going to feel like some random grocery market. Yes, lots of things are mass market, but when you SLOW down, and look around, you may start to find some lesser known, and okay, still Made in China, but local flair nevertheless. I recommend heading to the meat counter (assuming you like meat) and getting some Jerky, or other items.. because those are made locally. Then as you meander through the trinkets, you are going to find a mix between local and imported things. As you wonder back toward the baked products, you are going to see piles of loves of bread. I didn't try them, so can't recommend, however head past that, and you will find delicious case of based goods, including their house made Sausage Rolls, which are darn tasty. Go with their original one, then branch out. Again, meat lovers here. As you slowly, go around the store, being bumped by everyone around you, because there are too many people here, in this little shop, take in the fact that ABOVE YOUR HEAD, on the roof, are up there. So look, it's a trap, to be sure, and don't doubt it's going to be a mass of people, but honestly, you came here because it was a tourist trap, so go early, and take your time. Also, highly recommend the used book store nearby, once you free yourself of the money you are going to spend here in the market.

I enjoyed my time looking at everything. I will say their bakery was disappointing as a lot of products looked over baked. Some of their products in their display case looked interesting, but were really pricey. 4.5 stars

Shore is exactly where it says... on the shore of stunning Qualicum beach. It reminded me of being in Hawaii. We walked into a very short line during lunch and placed an order for a burger, shrimp tacos, fries and two root beer milkshakes. We were given a buzzer and waited. All tables were full but they clear out fast. The ladies who took our orders were super sweet and even asked how we enjoyed our meal. Prices were normal for being on the island. The spicy shrimp tacos were fire . Nice and clean washroom there. Side table with all condiments and water. Really family friendly and lots of parking. Cant wait to come back!

Waitress walked off and never came back with my water. Had to track her down twice to request water before I finally got water. Ordered basted eggs with English muffin, got eggs over medium with whole grain toast. Politely said, I actually ordered English muffin, (did not mention that I didn't order fried eggs) she said "are you sure you don't want the toast? I said, no, I would like the English muffin. She walked off and served several other tables and started filling their drink orders. My husband tracked down a different person to get my English muffin, by then my not basted eggs were cold. I get it, mistakes happen to the best of us. A simple acknowledgment or apology would have been welcome, but not a word. It made me feel like I was the one being difficult and I hate being that person. It isn't cheap eats, so I simply wanted what I paid for. The fried potato hash towns were tasty and well seasoned, the eggs (however they were cooked) were good enough. Overall the food is what you expect for a traditional breakfast. If you don't expect amazing service you will enjoy the meal well enough.
