My husband got the 2 piece halibut fish & chips. I can never get at all my chips so we have started…read moresharing a larger order & no more wasted chips. The halibut is perfect-just like I like it. The pieces are generous. One piece is plenty for the average person. The halibut is BC caught, which is great. Tasted fresh and delicious. I like the fresh tasting coleslaw. It isn't that gluggy sweet sugar & mayo combo you get at many places. It was just a simple cut up cabbage nicely seasoned. Maybe it had a little something else on it. Expect a line whenever you go because the word is out. The wait staff was friendly and working hard to keep the line moving. We found a chair up against a narrow wooden "bar" facing the water. It was quite warm so we appreciated the shade of an umbrella.

I got the albacore tuna and tempura cod tacones which were decently priced and filling - 2 was more than enough for a nice meal. The albacore tuna was prepared medium and fresh and flavorful, and the tempura cod is nicely battered. Both shared similar ingredients like the slaw and it was hard to differentiate the different sauces. Line was long - even on Saturday 4:30pm, it was a 15 min queue and another 10 minutes for food. Lots of ample seating outdoors only, so I can imagine it being more busy on a nicer day like when I visited.

Also called Street Food Hustlin, we noticed this food cart in Victoria inside the Inner Harbour…read moreCauseway, overlooking the Marina, the last time we were in Victoria. It had moved a bit further north to a parking lot area, providing a bit more space. We had made a conscious effort to revisit it, so was happy that we found it and actually got some Canadian dollars so we could pay for it. They accept credit cards now, but we still used cash since we had it (and cheaper for the merchant). We had already eaten lunch on the cruise boat, but the long walk gave us an appetite. One can tell the Filipino influence because of the flag prominently displayed. There is a gas grill that is used to cook the dishes. It's a very tight menu, one side focused on hot dogs and hamburgers while the other on filipino street foods (bbq sticks). 2 sticks is $12 CAD, and we added some rice for $3. The choices for the protein on the bbq sticks was pork shoulder, pork intestine, pork ears, or chicken. We chose pork shoulder. The dishes are prepared fresh, so it took a bit of time, but it went by quick enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery. We found a ledge to sit on, and the sticks was easier to eat since it really is a finger food, while the rice required the provided fork. As for the food itself, the rice was plentiful and good, the pork was OK. We know pork shoulder is very fatty and full of connective tissue, but wish it had been cooked a lot longer to crisp everything up or make it more tender (or choose a different cut of meat like loin). As it was, the meat was pretty tough. The sauce was more of an american BBQ sauce using banana ketchup than a soy sauce based asian flavor, and had great flavor, especially once caramelized. I'm thinking the other meat choices might be better.
