Regular buns not gluten free buns and multiple other errors, they remade the entire order, got it wrong again (she had her receipt) at which time she gave up and got a refund. I witnessed all this before my burger was ready. The burger was tasty but extremely wet and very messy to eat. By that time I'd somewhat lost my appetite so was quite disappointed for my fist experience at Deatbeets

It was with great…read moreexcitement I learned they were opening up at Commonwealth Rec. it is with great joy that I report out that their keto tacos are excellent. The shell is made of melted cheese, the vegetables are fresh and crisp. So often keto options feel like a lesser choice, but not here. I had two pulled pork tacos and while I got a slice of the keto chocolate Cale for dessert, I didn't have space for it. This was fine, as it made for a lovely bit of sweet this evening. I hope that they expand their hours (M-F 10-2 & SS 10-4), and I would love to have this for an option during the week. That said I am thrilled to have a restaurant in Victoria making specific keto dishes, rather than my having to ask for a bunch of things to be left off. Thank you Kattia for making my life a little easier.

There are tables available in front and on the side of the walk-up counter. A must try! There is also a fresh fish market to the rear of the building. A hidden gem!

This is a fish market with a stand in front and a couple of wooden tables in the street for people to sit. We asked some locals what they were waiting for and by a majority they all said this one of the top places in town for fish tacos and fish and chips. This is also a better deal then what you would get at the pier for 2 pieces of cod and fries bundle it was under 20 dollars. There is a condiments table to gather ketchup, seasonings, and vinegar. They provide tartar sauce. The crispy texture of the batter was on point with a satisfying crunch. It is on the thicker side but not overdone where it takes away from the fish. The fish inside was ohh so soft and tender steaming hot. When vinegar was added, the outside absorbed it well without getting soggy fast. We also got the grilled salmon which was done perfectly and had a subtle smokey flavor. The fish and chip cod was our winner and we actually ran back for a second serving before they closed. When I'm back in town I would love to try the chowder and fish tacos.

Cole slaw was bland. Don't bother. Might go back for fish and chips (they can clearly fry things nicely) or the halibut burger. Outside table was nice in the spring sun.
