Their menu looked so amazing that knew I had to either have lunch or dinner here! We actually found it while driving from one hiking spot to the next so we stopped in to check it out and grab a quick drink. Believe me when I tell you that their homemade lemonade is by far the best thing I have ever had! We went on our way, enjoyed our hike and came back for dinner. In addition to getting another couple of lemonades, I had the Buddha Bowl (Greens, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Namuru Carrots, Mushrooms, Picked Carrots and Daikon on Rice with Yuzumiso Sauce) and my husband had the Moo Moo Bowl (Braised Thin Sliced Beef, Onion, Soft Poached Egg on Rice). We also ordered a Salad Roll to share which came with the most delicious peanut dipping sauce. You can get a takeaway or if you prefer to "dine in", there is a nice seating area around the back of the truck with picnic tables. Since we opted to dine in, our dishes were presented to us on dishes. Everything from the service to the ambience to the presentation to the taste was next level. I highly recommend checking out this food truck if you're in the area. You will not be disappointed.

The shell is made of melted cheese, the vegetables are fresh and crisp. So often keto options feel like a lesser choice, but not here. I had two pulled pork tacos and while I got a slice of the keto chocolate Cale for dessert, I didn't have space for it. This was fine, as it made for a lovely bit of sweet this evening. I hope that they expand their hours (M-F 10-2 & SS 10-4), and I would love to have this for an option during the week. That said I am thrilled to have a restaurant in Victoria making specific keto dishes, rather than my having to ask for a bunch of things to be left off. Although there are many variations with different toppings these days, just like poke, my favorite way is still the classic Quebecoise poutine just loaded with squeaky curds and gravy. When we stopped by after driving off the ferry on a Friday evening, it was relatively quiet and we were able to place our order with only one party ahead. Since the fries are freshly fried, it took a couple of minutes to assemble. Classic Poutine, Large ($15 CAD) - As a classic poutine, this is a pretty simple dish. The fries are clearly fresh cut, with even a little potato heel in the mix. They are cleanly double fried, allowing the requisite tenderness on the interior combined with the crisp exterior, even holding up to the gravy poured over the top. The gravy is pretty standard. It seems to be from a powdered base, so it's mainly there to contribute sodium rather than any robust beefy or vegetal flavors. They add a ton of cheese curds on top, enough to cover the entire surface of the metal tray the poutine comes in. The curds are fresh, milky tasting, and fabulously squeaky. They are still distinct with some substance instead of being melted into a puddle from the hot gravy. (4/5) While I can't really compare L'Authentique to anything in Montreal (seeing that I've never visited), I thought it was pretty good. I ordered the home style chicken burger and jalapeño poppers, both which were made fresh to order. While I wanted the manager offered me a piece of their spicy chicken to try, it was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The restaurant was spotless and cleaned to a shine. My only hiccup, the music is way too loud for such a small space. I can't wait to come back
