**My username is an alias, for privacy reasons. I'm a legitimate patient**…read more Dr. Alvarez or her practice or both are either incompetent, insane, or badly run. I was recommended to Dr. Alvarez by a friend who is a patient of hers. My PCP sent over the referral. I was not allowed to make an appointment with Dr. Alvarez when I called them. First, I was told there had to be a "transfer of care" because I previously saw a doctor in their group (GI Alliance) two years ago. They said that the transfer was pending, a mere formality, and that I should hear back later that day. No one ever called me back so today, I drove over to their office. I spoke with the Office Manager, who flat out said Dr. Alvarez had looked over my chart and is refusing to see me. NO REASON WAS GIVEN. Huh?? That is a first for me. I've never been denied to see a doctor for non-insurance reasons. My PCP's office then called over to them and was again told about the "transfer of care". That's not what the Office Manager had stressed to me. Seems no one has any clue what's going on here and I still have no real idea why Dr. Alvarez is refusing to see me. I urge anyone wanting a referral for her to exercise caution...and consider looking elsewhere. Clearly, there is a lack of transparency here and no real evidence of a doctor who really cares...certainly not about future patients or their health.

Becoming a doctor granted me the art of being able to connect with people while treating their disease and/or ailments. In conclusion, patient's concerns and preferences are always a priority in my mind on forming treatment plans and I feel this is an important part to maintaining the patient-to- physician relationship and key to treating disease.

I am a legitimate patient of…read moreTDDC** As other reviews have stated, their billing department (GI Alliance) is borderline FRAUDULENT at worst and outright incompetent at best. Complete lack of transparency in bills received, due dates that have already passed, mailed statements that conflict with online statements, bills that don't reflect cleared payments, etc. They say I have an overdue amount, which I've already paid. Problem is, they applied my payment to a different charge for the same service date, so the first charge remains and is considered late. They are IDIOTS. This place is the WORST. It's a shame because I really like my doctor here but I don't think I can stay with this dreadful billing in place. Have already filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. The only bright spot has been dealing with Sonya M. at this location. Though she's not specifically in the billing department, she has spent more than an hour with me on the phone, trying to work through my issues. She is outstanding and very kind and I wish more people at TDDC/GI Alliance were like her. Unless you have no other option for GI services in Dallas, run as fast as you can away from this place.

They didn't inform me that they would be sending another payment for the same charge, they just call it a "service fee" Not only that, but after my procedure, DR trys to tell me what's wrong, doesn't give me much info..plus I'm already out of it due to being put under for the procedure. I feel they cant ever rememeber anything at all. They pretty much shove you out the door. NOT TO MENTION THEY PRESCRIBED ME MEDICINE THAT LITERALLY SAYS ON THE DOCUMENT THAT IM ALLERGIC TO. I had to call them twice to make them prescribe me something different. WHEN I went in for my followup appointment with DR Chung, he showed me pics and pretty much told me to take meds for a month and he wants to do ANOTHER ENDOSCOPY. Honestly this place just seems to be out for money. I tried to give them the benefit of a doubt but I'm now having to go somewhere else because this place just seems to be a waste of time and money.

She takes the time to listen as I have multiple health issues, and she follows up. Anytime I have an issue, I know I can always reach out to Dr. Betesh, I can easily make an appointment or leave a message to which will be followed up on. The staff at the front desk always welcome me with a smile and I feel like I can always reach out should I need something.

Next I go for upper and lower GI. They took biopsies. Then x-rays of my stomach. That was 2 weeks ago. No one has called with results. I called this morning and asked if I was suppose to follow up? They said a nurse would call me today. Being that I am never sick, I didn't know results took so long. A friend told me her mother had biopsies done in Paris, TX, and received the results the next day. Well this is Dallas so I guess they are behind. The longest 2 weeks of my life. I had to reach out to them every time about my prescription and they returned the call either that day or the next. I am not sure if these doctors are required to take a medical oath but common courtesy goes along way. If you choose to be treated like a number, this is your place. I felt on my first visit I was going to be taken care of. Even my female intuition had me comfortable. But once you leave, it's self serve. Now I have to wait another week to see my primary care doctor. He will have to give me another referral. Due to HIPPA, (lol) I can't tell you my issues, but my blood work didn't come out well. The prescription is not working at all, and no one basically cares. It leaves me stranded. Second opinion needed for sure. And in the mean time, trust me ~ I have no reason to lie, I am sick and needed help. Still waiting on my return call........ ZERO STARS IF I HAD A CHOICE. We all make choices and in "my opinion only" about the above issues, it was a choice by referral. Please do your research! ***UPDATE: They returned my call only to inform me they would get back with me later that day or tomorrow. So this is tomorrow- they called and advised me to get an OTC med. and they said the doctor needed to see me in 2 to 3 weeks. So while she was on the phone she schedule my appointment for exactly 1 month to the day away. I said, I thought 2 to 3 weeks??? She said, "Ahhhhh, got you down for the 19th" End of story !!! Stay tuned !!!
