I was referred by my PCP and had a procedure on June 3, 2025. The office later stated that a…read morefollow-up was scheduled on June 6 for September 3. I did not personally confirm that appointment. I was told reminder calls were made on August 29 and August 31. One attempt was documented as a "busy signal," and the other as "unconfirmed." I never spoke with anyone, never received a voicemail, and never confirmed this appointment. First, the explanation that my cell phone returned a "busy signal" is highly questionable. Modern cell phones with call waiting do not produce traditional busy signals under normal circumstances. That alone raises concerns about how these reminders are actually being documented. Second, despite no successful contact and no confirmation, the appointment was automatically treated as a no-show and a $50 fee was imposed. I was informed that paperwork signed months earlier includes a no-show policy. What makes this more concerning is that after the appointment had already passed, I conveniently began receiving automated calls telling me it was time to schedule a follow-up. So the system clearly has the ability to reach my phone. Somehow reminder calls before the appointment resulted in a "busy signal," yet automated outreach afterward worked without issue. There is a difference between having a policy and applying it reasonably. If an office cannot successfully reach a patient to confirm an appointment scheduled three months prior, enforcing a financial penalty is not patient-centered service -- it is rigid billing practice. I paid the fee, but the handling of this situation reflects poor communication standards and a lack of accountability. Patients should be aware that even without confirmed contact, they may still be charged.

So I had to sit there for extra 45 Minutes. When they called me back finally I told the nurse that you took the wrong patient back, she said I know sorry. Then Doctor Blank came and talk about everything else other what I was there for, Finally said my blood doctor wanted me to have her check my small colon, Without looking at my all my blood work from Baylor she didn't think it was necessary, Wanted more blood work done. Said they couldn't look at Baylor information and wouldn't take to time to look my paper I brought going back to April of 25, This was in November. I found another Gastrologist with Baylor who will be sending the Test,

2/27/25: BEWARE! Staff provided inaccurate information on more than one occasion!…read more One staff member wanted to set me up with a procedure without any type of consultation. When that doctor's schedule wouldn't align with mine, I was assigned to Dr. Gayle, who required a consult prior to the procedure. The consult with the nurse went fine, and the procedure was scheduled for December 2024. They had a Tricare authorization for office visits, but neglected to advise Tricare that a procedure would be needed. This resulted in me being charged for the procedure by BSW Dallas, as it was treated as a Point Of Service (POS) claim, versus an authorized procedure. I was not advised that I would be billed for the procedure. I received a bill for the procedure, paid it to avoid any credit issues, and contacted Tricare to question the charges, since my catastrophic cap had been met in August 2024. Tricare confirmed that a request for authorization for the procedure wasn't submitted, and the only thing authorized had been office visits. I reached out to the office manager, Christine Loya, and she was zero help. She basically passed the buck, and that I was on my own. I had no follow-up from Dr. Gayle, and have yet to receive a diagnosis or treatment plan. I would NEVER recommend this organization to anyone!

I would give no stars if that were an option…read more I went in for an appointment because I had been feeling nauseous for the first week. Without asking me about my lifestyle habits (e.g. fitness, nutrition, basically any important background information that would be pertinent to diagnosis), Dr. Fan goes to tell me that I "should be fine and I'm too young for something serious to happen." He also tells me I should move out of my parents' house, providing wonderfully ignorant and unsolicited advice. I redirect our conversation back to my digestive issues and tell him I've been weaning myself off my antidepressants. This is relevant information because the nausea might be a side effect. He then keeps telling me that I'm so young and I don't need to take antidepressants (this man knows nothing about my mental health history he literally just knows how much I weighed in 2015 and that my BP is normal). He says doctors now just dump depression/anxiety/schizophrenia medicine on people. He tells me that psychological medicine is not necessary "at such a young age" (I didn't know depression/anxiety only affects older people!). He says taking these antidepressants so young is foolish and unless it's super serious (like hospitalized serious bc of a suicide attempt) then I just need to let it go and deal with it. This doctor might be good at dealing with digestive issues, but I wasted both time and money on this appointment. Do not go see him. Instead, go see a doctor who will actually take the time to listen to your medical problems and practices medicine with understanding and humility.

I still have not been able to complete the hospital review because she still is not well, but this review will be shorter, so I have a little more time to complete it. Dr. Fan is a wonderful and understanding man. He was very kind to my daughter and very, very personable. My daughter's disorder is treatable, but not curable, so it is difficult to find a doctor that doesn't get frustrated and say there is nothing more. We were at this stage again when my daughter was hospitalized and her primary called in Dr. Fan. He immediately looked at her tests and came in with a workable treatment plan, verses the frustrated and unwilling to try attitude. I had to call the hospital for his phone number, and I was given his cell phone number. He was very understanding and told me to call that number if I ever needed help for my daughter. We went in for a followup and he was very professional and friendly, just as with our previous encounters. If you ever find yourself in need for a GI doctor, I can highly recommend Dr. Fan.

Once you stop seeing new patients Big D doesn't rate you again. This angel on earth restored my hope in having a happy and healthy future that was previously dimmed by rampant disease activity so resistant to slow down damage so severe I was told by my prior rheumy I'd be wheelchair bound by age 40.. despite trying dozens of treatments over 2 decades (I am only 38 and have many other chronic ailments such as type 1 diabetes, fibromyalgia, gastroparesis, neuropathy, etc) and in 1 MONTH DID MORE THAN MY PREVIOUS RHEUMATOLOGIST OF 15 YEARS!!!!!! .DR. If you are looking for narcotics/presc. pain meds..keep searching bc this amazing doctor treats the cause of all your disabilities instead of just temporarily covering symptoms. Personally, I have a separate pain mgmt doc who, along with my other team members such as my endocrinologist, gastroenterologist, pain mgmt doc, etc and works with them for what is truly best for me. I cant say enough about the stellar work and human being this doc is! She literally saved my life.
