I do NOT eat bologna, but my partner "snuck" a piece in my mouth without telling me what it was....I could have sworn it was high quality ham! OMG! The smoked ham was wonderful, as was the salami too. Got some andouille sausage which we had last night....oh so YUM We also had lunch there. I had their chili, really well made, lots of meat n veggies. Flavor was mild, but nice variety of hot sauces on tables allowed one to vary heat/flavor according to ones taste. I abhor chili with excessive green pepper, but HNG's was spot on. J had the hot dog which, like their bologna, was superb. Also discovered Smokin J's chipotle hot sauce, really nice flavor with medium heat, got a bottle for home. We'll be heading there again soon! And yes, HNG has both a deli counter and small cafe in the primary building, first one you come to on left of driveway.

Thankfully, she was too young to understand how bad it was; filthy dirty farm, supposedly a working farm where people buy meat? I don't eat meat but if I did I wouldn't buy it there. Their baby chickens were kept in the most horrendously filthy dirty condition; super crowded together, and a lot of the playground equipment looked like it hadn't been maintained properly in years. Granted this happened around 2017 so things could have changed a lot by now but I wouldn't know since I never went back. I want to vote for you Jamie but good God clean this up. You graduated from Warren Wilson right? Didn't they teach you godliness is next to cleanliness?

It has a bit of old barnyard vibe. Lots of outdoor room to sit and enjoy the weather. They have a really nice covered area surrounding three sides of the brewery with tables where people can congregate and enjoy their beverages... They are dog friendly too. That's a big one for us. Nice friendly staff... Just a fun place to visit. The beer selection was not extensive, but they covered a lot of different tastes. The Base Camp Grub food truck outside had amazing "Smashed Burgers" and super fries cooked in beef tallow. Quite an experience. Definitely recommended....

I swear it's their attempt to subliminally coerce me down there, and it usually works. Owners Julie, Lou, and daughter Jess have created an atmosphere that's intoxicating and I'm not even talking about the brewery. They welcome you with a smile and a kind word. I'm kind of a homebody and usually not much on being sociable, but Sideways has a lure and a draw that's hard to resist. I love that it's kid friendly. I love the bartenders. I love the smell of the food trucks. I love the live music. Heck, what's not to love about Sideways in little old Etowah, NC?
