My girlfriend is a hairdresser and has had severe foot pain for a long time. She was diagnosed with plantar fasciitis, tibial posterior tendinitis, and arthritis. She has seen three podiatrists and an orthopedic surgeon in the past six months and none of them really did anything for her and none of them would give her a cortisone shot for interim pain relief. I called around to a half dozen local podiatrists and inquired about a cortisone shot for her if deemed appropriate. Dr. Paks office could see us two days later so we made the appointment. The office is located on the second floor in a low traffic building. There is plenty of parking and the main entrance is on the front of the building facing La Palma. There is an elevator to the second floor which we were thankful for so she didn't have to painfully walk up the stairs. The receptionist was very friendly on both the way in and way out. We were led to an exam room after a very brief wait and we were quickly greeted by Dr. Pak. He has a very caring demeanor and he could see that she was in obvious pain. After an exam, he told us about many things we could try, many of which we have already tried. He had no problem offering a cortisone shot with the obvious disclaimers that the relief is only temporary and doesn't always help everyone. He also gave her foot a good wrap with kinesiology tape. She already has several pairs of extra supportive shoes but we decided to also purchase some insoles he recommended which were very inexpensive. It has been a little over 24 hours and she already has a noticeable improvement in pain which will hopefully get even better in another day or two. I've been to several general hospitals, but this one was the kindest and cleanest; everything was excellent. You can truly understand a doctor's character only after visiting other places. It was the first time visiting and the level of care and concern was pretty low. We were not happy with Dr Pak. He was either having a bad day or was tired since it felt like he wanted to leave as soon as possible. We got a diagnosis of going to PT and you have flat feet after a quick observation. I wanted to know if there was an underlying cause of the leg pain since it kept coming back. But I guess it's due to flat feet? But why on pain on only one leg and not the other if both are flat feet? read more

I didn't have a good experience at this office. The receptionist/nurse was extremely rude both on the phone and in person. They said they did verify insurance but charged the wrong amount. I spent a lot of money out of pocket but my issue wasn't resolved. If it was a standard business, there would be at least a 6-month guarantee. Every visit needs to bill insurance and co-pay. Even showing up to pick up something resulted in a charge. If you need a custom orthotics, you'd be better off finding another place who would do a plaster cast and not charge you an arm and a leg for everything. read more

I saw Dr. Pak this week for some foot pain I had (some kind of inflammation in the sesamoids). He examined my foot and asked a number of questions that would inform him of any causes. Dr. Pak was patient and clear in his explanations and treatment options. He was generous as well in giving me a padding to place in my shoe to alleviate some foot pain. Went to see Dr James Lee for ingrown toe removal. Was really skeptical but it had to be done now. I had a horrible experience with the last Dr. That did it on my left foot. His bed side manor was excellent very friendly. He shot my toe up to numb and then made sure it was completely numb before procedure. It was done in no time and I didn't feel a thing. Our son had several growths on the bottom of his foot that were uncomfortable and growing. We went to Dr. Pak based on a friend's recommendation. Dr. Pak's kind manner put my son at ease and he was very clear with us in explaining the course of treatment. The initial treatment cleared up most of the problem but some of it remained, and Dr. Pak switched immediately to a different medication that then cleared up the remaining growths. I came to Dr James Lee looking for a 4th opinion. My primary doctor sent me to see him to get treated. I came to him because I was having a lot of pain in my feet. On my right foot, I had bone spur and pain all over. On my left foot, I had a lot pain on my big toe, and the next two toes due to arthritis and a big bunion. Dr Lee took his time listening to me explain my pain situation. He explained to me what was going on. He sent me to have an MRI on my right foot and requested my previous x-rays from my previous doctors. I came back to him to get the MRI and X-ray report. He explained to me that I had a lot of scar tissue on my big toe and arthritis, which was why I was in a lot of pain. He also recommended custom orthotics. My insurance approved them, and that finally that helped me to walk, but I was still with pain. I had surgery last month, in November 2019. What I really appreciate about Dr. James Lee is that after surgery, and being discharged, my husband took my prescription to the pharmacy and we found out that the medication I had been prescribed, I was allergic to, so I needed another prescription for a different pain medication. His office was already closed when I called, and I left a message for him to call me back. He called me back, and he took his own time to hand deliver the new prescription to my husband, at my home. I am now recuperating from my surgery. I highly recommend Dr. James Lee for any problems that you are having with your feet. He was the right doctor, and I am glad I came to him for a fourth opinion. Dr. Lee is frkn AMAZING!!! 2 years ago I had a really bad ingrown toenail and I had to get the whole side of my nail removed. I came in because all of sudden I wasn't able to walk on my right foot after a short hop. There was intense pain every time I tried to walk on my right foot. I came in as an emergency patient late in the afternoon and they have already gone for the day but he decided to came back for me from home. He was kind and gentle and told me it was "a cuboid subluxation". He gently manipulated my cuboid bone into right position and gave me a laser treatment. I came in limping with a cane in my hand and I was able to walk out without any help. Now it is one day after and I am pain free and able to walk up and down the stairs in my office. He is a miracle worker. Not only he is compassionate enough to come back for me from home after hour but also he is very gentle and knowledgeable. Today I called Dr. Lee to get an appointment for my husband who had an ingrown toenail that was really hurting him. The receptionist said the earliest appointment was a week away. When I asked if that was the soonest, she asked if my husband was in pain and I explained that he was. She said she would check with the Dr. Lee to see if there was anyway he could fit him in. Later in the day I received a call from Dr. Lee personally who was working at his Bellflower office all day and said that he could meet us in his Anaheim Hills office at 8:15pm tonight which just blew my mind. We arrived at 8:05pm and Dr. Lee was already there waiting for us. We were there about a half hour and he was extremely kind, very professional and in addition to removing my husbands ingrown toenail, he even checked both of my husbands feet because he's a diabetic.
