Dr. Reed is an extremely knowledgeable foot doctor and a great human being with very pleasant bedside manners. I visited him for some pain in the feet and to address some callus issues. I went to Dr. Reed because I had a chronic (5 months) wound on my leg that needed expert medical attention. Dr. Reed assessed the wound and knew how to treat it. He explained the process of healing the wound and what I needed to do in order to make the plan work. I appreciated that Dr. Reed took the time to explain the process and his approach to me. As I followed the plan, I saw improvement within the first week and continued improvement in the following weeks. Within six weeks of my first appointment, the wound was healed. I broke my foot and went to Urgent Care and even though they did an XRay they MISSED a Jones Fracture and told me I probably had a ligament sprain and sent home home. After suffering almost 2 weeks in pain and circulation problems I went to see Dr. Reed. He took one look at my foot and said "You have a Jones fracture. Let's XRay to confirm." I have nothing but respect and Gratitude for this doctor. I was a mess when I first visited his office...tendonitis, morton's neuroma, plantar fasciitis and NEUROPATHY. I was a cash paying customer with a very high deductible and he was always mindful of my situation. He treated my neuropathy which was terribly painful and is 90% gone now. I did some research before choosing a Podiatrist. I'm so very glad I chose Dr Reed for my foot/toe issues. Although I had nothing serious, he was able to address the few concerns I had. Excellent and knowledgeable doctor who I have been seeing for years as a cash patient. Many times we talk about non-foot related issues which is kind of refreshing and I always feel like Dr. Reed is trying to help the patient lead a better life. Since I am a cash patient and don't have PPO insurance I have to be very limited in my visits because of my budget. I appreciate the fact that Dr. Reed is willing to work with patients who don't have PPO insurance and come to acceptable financial terms. Many times I was unable to get through and was sent to voicemail or received busy signal. For example, I sent a request via the their office text line for a prescription to be called in. I tried calling back about it several times through the day and couldn't get through. I texted the dr direct around 4pm and he said he would call it in. Around noon the next day it still had not been called in so I called the office again and after being on hold 15 minutes, my prescription was called in to the pharmacy. I have also waited 30 minutes to be seen by the doctor though I had a scheduled appt. The doctor has a lot of experience but sometimes can miss things. For example, I originally came in for toe nail fungus treatment. On one of my follow up visits I showed him a spot on my toe that appeared to be a wart (had tiny black spots). He said he thinks it is a callous. On my next visit I showed him again and he said I still think it is a callous but wear a toe spacer and if it comes back after I file it down then it may be a wart. It came back the next day (wearing toe spacer as advised). Next follow up visit: He finally recognized it as a wart and prescribed fluorouaracil. It took 3 visits for the dr to realize it was a wart. read more

I had my first bunionectomy about 10 years ago, and the whole experience was so bad and painful, I refused to do the other foot. The bunion got worse, to the point I finally began contemplating another surgery. After lots of research, I came across Dr. Mark Reed. I felt comfortable with the reviews I read, but the kicker was a chance encounter with someone who had been one of his patients. Her rave reviews sealed it, and after my consultation with him, knew he was the one I would trust for my second procedure. While I would love to tell everyone of his masterful skills resulting in a painless process, I regret to say I cannot. It just HURTS! Let me start by just saying "Thank You" to Dr. Reed. I developed extreme pain in my foot (specifically the ankle) and I assumed it was gout. After visiting Dr. Reed, he assessed that it was Sinus Tarsi. He recommended I use special insoles for my shoes due to my feet being pronated. These insoles are a game changer and a life changer. Every time I stood on my feet for a prolonged period or if I participated in sport activities, my ankles would hurt so bad to the point I just couldn't walk the next day. No swelling just excruciating sharp pain. After putting in the recommended insoles on both my walking shoes and soccer cleats, I was pain free the next day. Along with the insoles, he recommended I do a specific exercise to help stretch my Calf and Achilles muscles/tendons. This has also helped prevent the pain from randomly reappearing. I'm so glad I took the first step to visit Dr. Reed. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great Podiatrist that can easily explain to you what is happening, why it's happening, and how to go about getting it fixed. I play recreation roller hockey, and a couple of years ago I purchased new roller hockey skates. After three months of still wearing those skates, I started to get bunions by both of my big toes, and my feet were hurting both while I was playing and afterwards. I made an appointment to see Dr. Reed, and he suggested that I wear toe spacers, and said that my range of motion on both my feet and heels needed to be improve. He showed me some exercises I can do to improve my range of motion for both feet and my heels.I do those exercises everyday and each time I had a follow up appointment with the doctor he could see a lot of improvement in reducing my bunions and more flexibility in my feet and heels. Been to see Dr Reed twice now for my 12 year old son who plays club soccer. Dr Reed has been fabulous with my son for his diagnosis and treatment plans for 2 minor issues resulting from my kid's soccer. Very good at explaining not only causes and results of injury and treatment but also with advice on sports and good physical health in general. Highly recommend going to an actual sports doctor, specifically Dr Reed, when you or your little athlete isn't 100%. Urgent care, ER and Family Practice just aren't as capable of helping get you back in the game faster and safer than an experienced specialist. read more

Dr Reed is an outstanding doc. Several years ago I had a hammer toe surgery done by another doctor who damaged the nerves in my foot. I was in pain for 3 years and was told by that doctor that I would have to live with it and that eventually the nerves would heal. They didn't. I couldn't sleep due to the pain and had to alter my exercise routine. Dr Reed took on the case, correctly diagnosed the problem and started a program of injections to get the nerves to regenerate. He told me to be patient and that "we" would fix the problem. He always kept me informed of the procedures and made me part of treatment plan. It took several months but today my foot and toes are healed thanks to Dr Reed's persistence. My wife dislocated several toes in an accident and was in significant pain. Dr Reed fixed her up as well. We are both very grateful to Dr Reed and his excellent staff for their kind and professional medical services and highly recommend him. Dr. Reed did an excellent surgical repair of my ingrown toenail. I have a great outcome. Best of all, he recommended a small toe spacer to both correct my bunion and prop up my hammer toes. While it took a few days to adjust to walking with these spacers, I can actually see a correction in my toes!! I am very pleased! read more

I have a great experience with Dr. Reed. First of all, he's an awesome surgeon as it turned out i didn't have any pain after my surgery (i had a tumor that grew next to my Achilles tendon that needed to be removed and in order to have a clean removal of the tumor so it won't come back Dr. Reed had to shave off 1/3 of my Achilles tendon). Amazingly i did not have to take a single pain killer. Hats off to his skills. Secondly, his caring is extremely important since he encouraged me to call him anytime if i have a concern or just a question. I did call him on the day of the surgery i noted the time 11:30pm and he did return my call just few minutes later. I was amazed how pleasant and calm he was even though that late in the night and he ensured me that i feel ok before he let me go back to sleep. Last but not least, he is very detail oriented surgeon as he always explained clearly his procedure & options & pros & cons as well as any medical terms that i don't understand. I feel i was so lucky that I chose Dr. Reed for my problem and i highly recommend anyone who needs a DPM should give it a try with Dr. Reed. Am confident that you won't be disappointed. I was telling my bestie about my foot pain that got markedly worse. Plantar fasciitis . She recommended Dr. Reed who saved her husband's foot. My first appt with him, I could hardly put weight on my entire foot without cry. I truly was downtrodden from 2 months from another podiatrist and condition worsening. But Dr. Reed explained my condition, appropriate treatment, reasons for it and recommended a boot to sleep but not walk in it (not heel on it) along with exercises. The time he spent explaining the issue, the pain and recovery time was unbelievable and rare. I could not be more grateful and hopeful. He is patient, knowledgeable, professional and kind. I limped home, slept in the boot for a month. Even the first morning the best I had felt in 2 months. In between visits I had to have the boot readjustment because the swelling went down. No problem. No charge. My son (a physician from East Coast) spoke with him on the telephone and later in person. We agreed Dr. Reed is rare physician. Had an appointment at 10:00 today for removal of ingrown toe nail on right toe. Got to office about 10:50 and checked in. Waited until 11:15 to ask receptionist how much longer before being seen. I was told the "it would be awhile". Told receptionist my appointment was at 11:00. I was told that there were 2 patients ahead of me, that the doctor was "running late". Asked receptionist why schedule appoint at a specified time and not be seen. She said it was the doctor and not her. Asked my if I wanted to reschedule for Monday, told her I had other things to do and I would find another doctor. I said that the whole thing was B.S. I don't care who the doctor is, if you have any appointment at a certain time then you should be in with the doctor at that time. He needs to learn how to work his time better. Don't care if he says he has 28 years of experience. Will never go back, will never recommend to any one. If I could register a complaint with the Podiatry Plan I would. read more

Holy crap this guy is good. Ive had to see a podiatrist for an ingrown that later got ripped out and had to have removed twice. Each time was a bad experience prompting a new Dr. and at least a week of walking very gingerly in sandals--it was too painful to put socks, let alone shoes. I had an injury to my other foot that would have prompted the repeated removal of that nail so had the big toenail on each foot treated permanently. The first day I opted to be careful, soaking as indicated, etc. and laying around watching TV. The next day I was able to go out without problem. I wore sandals out of comfort, and realized I forgot something, so ran back to my car. No problem. First day back to work and I'm wearing shoes with no discomfort. 3 previous different podiatrists have treated my toes and tried to kill the nail. 2 failed to kill it, and the 3rd left a hair in the wound so it got infected prompting a 2nd trip. I had told these doctors to "kill it, kill it with fire" because I didn't want to have to do it again and again. Went to Dr. Reed about 2 months ago because I woke up with excruciating pain on top of my foot. There was no injury or even exercise the day before so it was totally random. I explained this to Dr. Reed and he diagnosed it as tendinitis. He explained to me why it happens and it made perfect sense. So in one session I basically found out that I've been wearing the wrong shoes for my flat feet this whole time. What a difference my life would've been if I had visited him years ago. He told me my knees are not aligned correctly because of my flat foot which explains my knee pain. He referred me to a place to get some better walking shoes and showed me creases on my shoes that showed just how much pressure is on one side of my foot. The custom orthotics he made me have been a life changer. The only way I can describe the feeling is I use to feel like I was walking on unstable stilts and now my feet have custom made platforms and I'm stepping on a solid foundation every step. The night splint he gave me was the solution to the tendinitis. It is now gone and even played soccer within a month of first going. I'm now working on my pre-existing ankle injury and have to test out my tendonitis ankle to make sure its completely gone. My 89 year old Father was referred to Dr Mark Reed by our beloved Dermatologist, Dr. Cheryl Effron. My Father had been suffering from a severe fungal infection on his toe nails and a corn which was causing him so much pain that he could barely walk. Dr. Effron and Dr. Mark Reed partnered together to treat these problems. On the initial visit, Dr. Reed took a LOT of time and care to file down each of my Dad's toe nails (debulked the yellowed, infected toe nails). Additionally, he carefully debulked the corn and provided my Dad with gelatinous inserts to use between his toes so they were cushioned when he walks, thus minimizing the pain. We have had several visits with Dr. Reed and for the first time in over 50 years, my Father's toe nails and feet are healthy!! I am extremely grateful for the wonderful care that Dr. Reed and Dr. Effron have provided my Father. So many Doctor's I have encountered don't want to spend the time and energy required to address the needs of elderly patients. Both Dr. Reed and Dr. Effron are kind, caring physicians who provide ONLY THE BEST of care for ALL their patients. I am a returning customer after many years. Returned to Dr Reed to evaluate my Plantar Fasciitis. He recommended stabilizing tennis shoes and a night boot to keep my foot in position. He said I have a mild bursitis on my heel. His recommendations are spot on and I am slowly recovering. Giving praise to someone who put a needle in my ankle is hard to do but I don't think it could have gone any better. He was so thoughtful in giving the injections by not taking the needle out of my foot and only swapping out the syringe- one for the numbing and one for the actual medicine. For someone who is super nervous around needles he made sure I was comfortable throughout and explained what he was doing. He also explained what my condition was in depth and answered all my questions.
