Not knowing who to call, I looked up a list of licensed installers through the local health department. I talked with several companies, but knew right away Wood Brothers & Sons was the company I wanted to do the work. I spoke with David Wood, he walked me through the entire process from start to finish. He responded very quickly to any and all questions. His brother Jack did the septic, even offered to help with some other things to get this closing done. They had the whole job done and final inspection from the health department, all within a week!!! I can't say enough about these 2 gentlemen or this company, I would give them 10 stars if I could. It's hard to find people now days, who strive to do a top notch job, I was fortunate to have found exactly that through Wood Brothers & Sons. Thanks guys for an outstanding job!!!

Cody did an exceptional job pumping and inspecting my septic system--even while working out in the cold. He was honest, thorough, and very explanatory throughout the entire process. The job required digging twice into the city street, but they did so without complaint. I should mention that they took great care in restoring our front yard/garden to its original state, including a gravel walkway with curved metal edging. The entire crew is hard-working, polite and very patient with questions and requests. I'd have no hesitation hiring them again. Recommended, to be sure.

We needed grading work to redirect water from impacting the foundation at the back of our house. And we wanted to have that water (and water from our downspouts) end up nicely in a rain garden out front. Bob knew exactly what to do for our situation and handled it all in three days, including building the rain garden. Bob gave us a fair price, kept his word throughout the process, didn't cut corners, and showed up when he said he would with his hard working team. He's a standup guy, to boot, and great to talk and consult with. We are pleased with the quality of the work and the straight talk. Wholeheartedly recommend Knight's Grading and Excavating.

We hired Mark originally to plow our driveway this winter as our tractor had died the summer…read morebefore. Mark was reliable and did a fantastic job clearing the driveway. Communication was always clear and consistent. We were so impressed by Mark we decided to hire him to redo our driveway with crushed asphalt as well as put stone down in our barn. The crushed asphalt driveway is beautiful. The stone in the barn has been a Godsend. The original builder put some kind of junk sand in the barn that was incredibly dusty/dirty as well as anything that walked or drove on it sunk in 6" and filled the air with a heavy dust. The day Mark put the stone down the whole atmosphere of the barn changed. It is clean and clear inside, and it is easy to breathe. I'm so happy with the fix. We like Mark's work so much my husband and I keep thinking up projects for him to do for us!

Chris Margraves and his crew took our collapsing back yard and transformed it into a beautiful…read moremasterpiece. It was clear that his crew put their hearts into the work. He installed two stairways of huge stone slabs. The cascading locally- mined slabs convey an artistry and aesthetic consideration that is greatly appreciated. The multi-tiered retaining walls have broad natural curves and were built with care. It was a big job. I suspect it took a little longer than Chris expected. He finished up well. Chris and his skilled crew adapted to the changing scope of the project. The add-ons to accommodate the expanding complexity of the project, along with some much needed stump removals on the rest of the property, were done well and were fairly priced. Chris was attentive to our suggestions and needs. Definitely money well spent. He's a good man. He's got integrity and he's good with communication. He's respectful of his crew. They work well together. We will certainly hire him for projects in the future.
