I also got a large fries that two of use shared. Again the portion size was perfect for two but there is a regular size too. The fries were hand cut, salty, and perfectly crisp. The staff was friendly and helpful. They unfortunately did not have their liquor license so no margaritas but that just gives me an excuse to return.

They are always helpful and can even offer suggestions if you don't know what to make with what. One of my go-tos are any one of their sausages. They have traditional ones plus a few fun ones. And if you watch their social media, they'll usually tell you when they have a limited addition one. The Rieger whiskey and apple sausage is one of my favorites. They also have a chicken curry sausage, which is excellent and has so much curry flavor. On my last visit I noticed that they have mac & cheese that you can take to go. They have a few different varieties, but I went with one with bacon because their bacon is always fantastic. It was a really good side. I slapped it on the grill to warm it up and it was delicious. Thier house made sausages are flavorful and make great appetizers, ingredients, or can stand on thier own or in a bun. The mini pot pies are fantastic. Their meat selection is awesome and they can easily adapt to any request. Local pig/ Pigwhich moved to city market from the East bottoms over 5 years ago and expanded thier Local items to include cheese, wine, liquor, and a ton of other stuff. The staff are knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. The interior is bright, clean, well lit and well stocked.

The smash burger patty was juicy and had lacey edges just like a proper smasher should, sometimes certain places forget the importance of those crispy edges. Not here! The kimchi wasn't an afterthought at all, it was more than a condiment slapped on top of the burger instead it was piled high and added just the right amount of zippy slightly spicy flavor. The cheese oozed out of the burger and melded with the lacey edges to create an impeccable bite, I'm still thinking of it a week later. I can't wait to try more burger renditions on the menu because this one definitely got high marks. There are other things on the menu as well if a burger isn't your speed but don't expect anything too fancy this is bussin' bar food that pairs exceptionally with a brew.

I have visited jamaica and i have to say when you get back to the states and then try to find the same food with the same island taste, I had no luck until Jam Down kitchen opened (YAY) This Family owned Business is very clean and the Food taste like a vacation. The food was handed to me in a plastic bag, containing a Styrofoam container of the curry. I did a good job of keeping everything level, and still, the curry poured out of the sides of the Styrofoam container and into the bottom of the bag. What a mess. Got home and put the whole bag in the sink, and carefully scooped the food out from there. The shrimp curry tasted fine and so did the plantains but the cabbage side was overcooked. No sense coming back with so many great, friendly restaurants in this neighborhood. I felt like I was intruding and unwelcome.
