Darling little wine tasting room on the main street in Napa. Wine tastings were fairly reasonable compared to other places and they were one of the only ones to have a semi sweet wine. We enjoyed a glass on their front walk. There's inside and outside seating with large open windows. So even when inside you feel like you're outside. This place was so cute, lots of eccentric decor, ie. maganize covers adorning the walls and and mood-setting lighting all around. They have a few booth seats for having meals here, several bar seats, and some other comfy seating options closer to the stage. They even have a small disco ball hanging from a mirror on the ceiling at the center of the studio. But they're all about the wine and music here. And I love live music, this place did not disappoint. Chance McCauley was playing on this night, showing off his guitar playing skills and vocals to small crowd. He seemed very genuine and friendly. And I Ioved his versions of John Mayer and Tom Petty hits, along with some country covers as well as his original songs. He performed mostly soulful music, perfect for the intimate environment created by JaM Cellars. I tried the Brownie Points on the menu, a warm chocolate brownie topped with whipped cream. I am a big fan of Jam Cellars Butter Chardonnay, so decided to pop into the tasting room in downtown Napa. There were about 4 other parties there at the same time (most of us were walk-ins, which they were able to accommodate). We went with the Napa Exclusive tasting as we wanted a local selection (all small-batch grapes exclusively from the Napa region). I liked the white wines much better than the red wines as it was mid-day and the reds were a bit heavy. The host was kind and made rounds to each party to explain the different wines. We got very good pours of 6 different wines: Jam North Coast Brut Sparkling (very similar to Champagne, on the dryer side, very refreshing) 2019 Candy Dry Rose, Napa Valley (this one was sold out due to popularity. Very light and fruity flavor. Would be great for day drinking outdoors or on a boat) 2021 Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley (My favorite - mix between NZ sav and Cali sav flavor. Light citrus notes) 2021 Butter Chardonnay, Napa Valley (close sister to the famous Butter Chardonnay sold across the country, but with oaky notes). JAM Red Blend #1, Napa Valley (heavier, plum/blueberry notes, apparently a top seller). 2019 JAM Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley (another heavier red, more classic oaky flavor) Overall the bottles of wine were more reasonably priced than many of the other local wineries / tasting rooms around. They have a very cool spot (music studio vibe) and live music on Thurs-Sat, so definitely worth a stop for the ambience. Would not go here looking for high quality/expensive wine. read more

I saw the Black Heartthrobs here. It was my first out-of-San Francisco-but-still-in-the-Bay Area show since I got a new place in San Francisco. But unlike when I drove southwest and out of San Francisco to see TBH last fall, this time, I drove northeast and out of San Francisco, and far. The show was amazing. They're a very tight band. You should see them live at some point. Probably sooner rather than later. Oh, this is about JaM Cellars. It was a weekday, and it was pretty dead. The venue itself is gorgeous. The entire place has a recording-studio theme, so the bar has mini-fridges disguised as amps, the breakish room looks like the control room of a recording studio, and there are records and concert posters and photos all over the place, including the bathroom. (Check out the cool vertical paper-towel dispenser as well.) It's tiny. There are some couches and a few booths for more privacy. When the show started, I was the only one here, along with some bored-looking employees. But over the course of the set, more people came and listened to the music as they sipped wine. I know you're asking yourselves this, and yes, I felt totally out of place. But I'd do almost anything for my old pal Dave, and if I have to feel uncomfortable in Napa for a few minutes in order to support him and his band, I'll do that over and over and over and over. Plus it was kind of an adventure coming home since I was still totally new to my new place and neighborhood, and I kept wanting to drive to my old flat, which was destroyed in a fire. The employees are really nice. They made me feel very welcome, even if Downtown Napa just isn't my scene. Like not at all. Like wow, I didn't know I could still feel this out of place somewhere in California. It's like San Francisco's Marina District froze in time in 2005 and moved across the bay many miles to the north. read more

JaM Cellars has to be my all time favorite place to visit while in Napa! Their name does match up with their wines well (think sweet, jammy wines) and they are DELICIOUS! I had seen their Butter chardonnay in grocery stores for years, but never thought to try it... until my birthday! We stopped by one evening for a tasting ('elevated' thanks to the hotel next door the Andaz) and received some complimentary trio snacks. JaM's interior is a fun, rock-and-roll theme with sultry colors and a casual feel. By the time we were done tasting, we left with six bottles! We loved their Butter chardonnay, Sweet wine, Butter sparkling (not champagne, sparkling), and Toast sparkling wines. They do have a few less sweet wines, however, they do tend to fall on the sweeter side, which we loved! 10/10 we recommend this to all of our friends! read more

First of all, my last review was removed - and that was for stating the truth about how they RAISED THEIR PRICES HORRIFICALLY at Bottle Rock. They sold their wine all over the festival for a higher amount and a smaller pour - to take advantage of customers. When I wrote this in another review, they must have complained, and yelp took it down. For what reason? You literally had a stage named after you at Bottle rock - sponsored by you. You raised your prices at the festival to take advantage of the consumer, and I will never return to your cellar. read more
