My family and I were seated today, 11/30/25, at 12:50. By 2:00, our food had not arrived. The service was very, very, very slow. I asked the server for a status and I was told "they were busy and I just had to wait..." after already patiently waiting a hour. That was not admirable customer service. Meanwhile, another party who was seated at the same time as us had ordered, food served, paid, and left the restaurant before we received anything other than chips. Mysteriously, my two-year old daughter's rice and beans arrived within five minutes of me asking the server for a status. I think the server forgot to put our order in with the kitchen. We were in town for a soccer tournament from California May 2025 and across from our hotel was this restaurant we decided to give it a try and for the next 3 days we made it our hang out the staff is amazing, Rosi and Jorge took care of us above and beyond and even on Sunday they stayed open late to let us watch the America soccer game , and let me tell you about the food we tried a lot of items from the menu but my favorite was the fajitas Toluca great portion and great prices, highly recommended!! Fajitas were great and a decent portion. I also got the guacamole which was a disappointment. Instead of fresh guacamole it was not fresh or made fresh. Could have possibly been mixed in with store bought or store bought all together. It tasted like chemicals and did not have any fresh tom/onion you would usually see inside a guacamole. It's Taco Tuesday and this place was packed...and HOT!!!! I love coming here because the staff always remembers their customers!!! Our food was on point!!! It came out quick, hot and the veggies on the quesadilla were yummy!!! It's was a little noisy but only because there was so many people here enjoying their food and company. This restaurant came highly recommended by a family member. We wanted to celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a good Mexican lunch. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The chips and salsa were delivered quickly and were flavorful. We ordered the taco and chili relleno, a meal by which we judge Mexican cuisine flavor and appearance. Our food was brought to us hot. My taco was soggy from sitting in the refried beans and didn't taste like it had typical beef filling. The chili rellenos had a similar filling and wasn't pleasant to taste, and it did not have the normal egg batter coating around it. Maybe that recipe was from a different part of Mexico than what we're used to eating. A "salad" of guacamole and one thin tomato wedge on a bed of iceberg lettuce accompanied the meal. The horchata was the best part of the meal! The restaurant was appropriately decorated with Mexican decor. Pleasant Mexican music was playing in the background. This is a cute little hole in the wall. The staff was very friendly and kind. This review pains me, but it's necessary, I hope they can improve their food. We've been eating at Jalapeños for 10 years now, living in Rivers Bend it's our go to for Mexican. Unfortunately, things have changed over the years for the worse. The food has progressively gotten worse and worse. There is almost zero seasoning on the meat, especially ground beef, it's so bland. The chips are not good, they are thin and oily. We started noticing a shift in quality back in 2017, I don't know if they had a cook change or what. I know management has stayed the same though. There are so many other Mexican restaurants around here that season their meat and food well, it's worth the additional drive. We miss the old Jalapeños. read more

Ate here on Monday 1/16/23 . The location looked nice. The inside was sparce, looked as if the room was for a dance instead of tables. The waitress was polite and our orders were quik. The food looked delish but was pretty bad. It had like NO TLC or taste or seasonings. I later attempted to ask another server if we could get more napkins and got shot down instantly by an attitude and a look of insanity, while shouting me down and then never relayed any needs to our waitress or our table.... I have never been treated or ever seen anything like this in any restaurants. Which the tude brought to my attention to look at the other staff and the other patrons. Which then became apparent no servers or tables were giving any attention to service. Our waitress never visited or returned until we waved for a chek. I mean like wow or is wtf more appropriate? I do leave reviews, but this watering hole or chain doesn't deserve any ratings over a one or two...I see fives but that isn't what we witnessed. I came to Jalapenos for a mid-week dinner and ordered the fish tacos and a cervesa. The fish tacos are tilapia and are grilled with a side of a salsa type salad to put on the tacos along with lettuce and a chipotle sauce. Rice is also served. The tacos were very good. Stayed at the Hyatt place across the parking lot. Ordered some dinner. Food was ready within 15 minutes and was quite delicious.

Steak fajitas were excellent only docking comes from bringing me flour tortillas when I asked for corn. The chicken in the enchiladas was also not that flavorful. Server was really nice but never came back after they dropped the food off so I never got my corn tortillas. Once we got the bill I was done with my food. read more
