Went here with a buddy of mine to eat and overall the food was great and tasty, the service was great and fast. The drinks were good as well, the chips and salsa were also good too. Everything here was good but I couldn't help notice how much was for serving guacamole, $7.50, I guess it's standard pricing for some guacamole? I don't know but I'll definitely not get guacamole next time. Place is great overall. read more

Server came up to us asking if we'd ordered a taco salad and we had been waiting to order for awhile. Came back and said something we couldn't understand and we said "what?" And she rolled her eyes and walked away. Now we have a different server. Food is mid and it took us almost half an hour to get our check. read more

Mr Pepe delivered exactly what you'd expect from a solid Mexican restaurant. The service was friendly and on point, and the food hit the mark. Nothing fancy, just well-made dishes with good flavor and generous portions. The margaritas were strong too, which didn't hurt. It's a dependable spot if you're in the mood for a laid-back meal with classic favorites. I'd come back. The ambiance was welcoming and had that Mexican flair that really put you in the mood for some pretty good/solid food. read more

Wanted to try a new restaurant and I'm glad I picked here! We were seated immediately. We received chips, salsa and white sauce for free... like the good ol days! Waiter came by and took drink orders quickly. My mojito was yummy! Food came out hot and fast. They have good lunch prices. This place is everything I need in a Mexican restaurant. Tables are a little wobbly, seating uncomfortably and the service wasn't 5 star friendly so I'd rate them a solid 4. read more

Great food and employees are great!! I highly recommend it. You get a great amount of food for the money.

Mr. Pepe - Hull St. Review I ordered takeout from Mr. Pepe, and while there was a mix-up at first (they gave me someone else's order), they corrected it quickly. Mistakes happen, so I appreciated the fix. The food itself was decent. I had a chimichanga and queso, and even after taking it home, I still enjoyed it. Nothing mind-blowing, but solid, satisfying Mexican food. Would order again! read more

Service ok, food stale and just yucky. My margarita was weak and tasteless. We will not return. Used to be great, I think they changed owners? read more

We stopped by last Thursday for an impromptu dinner. This was our second visit here (the first was pre covid and for national margarita day). The restaurant had a decent amount of patrons but it wasn't overly crowded due to social distancing requirements. We were seated between 2 other parties but they booths went up high above our heads. We did notice that our booth did not have a QR code on the wall in order to view the menu so we had to use the one at the booth across from us. We enjoyed the special for the patron margarita and our food was good and arrived quickly. At one point in the evening we felt a bit rushed by our server because she came back to ask for our check payment (we were still drinking & they didn't close for at least another hour. read more

Went this afternoon around 1pm, after almost an hour with no food, we decided to just leave. Server never acknowledged the delay or apologized. There's too much competition in the area for such poor service. This used to be our go to place since it's so close, but we won't be going back. read more

I read some prior reviews and idk what went on when people were here, but this restaurant is like the ultimate rainy day comfort Mexican food spot near woodlake. Also the wait staff and owner is super polite and professional. The portions here are huge you'll definitely have leftovers. Also the chips are super warm and crispy and the white sauce is that little bit of sweet white sauce that I always like. Some restaurants make it salty. The chori Pollo was delicious. Love this place. The waitress also made sure we were comfortable in the smaller booth when we were sat because my boyfriend is basically the size of a linebacker lol. Yum yum yum read more

Just left the woodlake location. It's not on yelp, so this will do. Service was slow. We were seated and waited approximately ten minutes before the bus boy came and asked if anyone took out drink order. Our waitress came and took our order and we didn't see her again until it was time to leave. I tried ordering a tree leche, which comes with ice cream, and she brought it in a to go bag without ice cream. I complained at the register and they said it's not served with ice cream, despite the menu saying it is. They also charge more per item if you are paying with a card versus cash. This isn't listed on the menu and the prices on your check will be more than what the menu lists them as. Poor service and bad practice. Avoid. read more

Really enjoyed coming here for dinner one Friday. Didn't have to wait for a table (that have a lot of tables close together). The food was very good! My husband got horchata which wasn't the best we've ever tried, but we have had a lot. I'm surprised at the low reviews overall because we had a perfectly fine experience here. read more

It's nice to not wait for a table. Of course, there's a good reason for that. The people are nice but, the food really isn't. The presentation is fair. I had the torta special, a bland little piece of chopped chicken breast on a huge roll, with very little else. Oh and droopy, undercooked fries. But again, no wait for the table. read more

Great deals during social distancing / quarantine-land madness, we ordered a 12 pack of tacos (half soft half hard all ground beef but there is an option for shredded chicken) that comes with chips, salsa, queso blanco (awesome), rice (large plate) and refried beans (large plate) all for $30. Should note by default the tacos have lettuce, cheese and meat and are already put together so they may get soggy... We also ordered family meal of steak fajitas - they said it's enough I think for 2-3 but more like 3-4 people, and came I believe 4 packs of soft tortillas (each had 3 tortillas in the pack), another plate of rice, refried beans, and also a container of lettuce, tomatoes, some guacamole and some sour cream and of course more chips, salsa and queso blanco this time for $35. Something like $70 ... And we have quite the leftovers!! Should note they also had a quesadilla meal and I think at least one more special meal deal but can't recall. I am not sure since I didn't order but I but believe they are taking regular menu orders as well as drinks - at least today beer was on sale for $2 each. An important note at least when I went (Tuesday at 6pm), they are really trying to keep people in a line but it's hard to tell so just unless someone says otherwise, go inside and wait in line and they will get to you and leave earlier because it took awhile to get thru the line! Don't just wait outside but do try and follow the 6 ft rule even though it's hard inside and still fit 10 people in there. Took over half an hour to get our food. read more

Ate here for dinner with my wife around 6pm. Not too busy and adequate staff to manage business. Associates were all polite and attentive. Restaurant was clean for the time of day and business. We were brought chips, Salsa as we were being seated. Our waiter soon arrived and took our drink order, which one drink was incorrect...no big deal, he immediately corrected. We ordered the Chicken Bowl and one taco and split the order. Everything was fresh, hot and quick. We will return. read more

Yaayy for white sauce! First time going here, and we went for lunch. My burrito was ginormous, about bigger than my plate. The carnitas filling was delicious. My husband enjoyed his tacos, and kudos for the fresh avocado on top. Definitely gave us plenty for leftovers, which reheated beautifully the next day. Only draw back was our server disappeared for 20 minutes when we had already been ready to pay & leave. read more

Not worth the price, I'm sure I was overcharged. My 9 year old and I stopped by for lunch since we were in the area. We had one water and one coke, one Texas fajitas, one side of rice and beans and one order of 3 hard shell tacos with ground beef. This was lunch and my fajitas were supposed to be less than $11. The 3 taco dish with steak was listed at $10 on the menu. But our bill was $37. The service was lacking, we had to reorder my child's meal 3 times because he wanted everything on the side and they kept giving it to him put together. I specifically asked for everything on the side each time I ordered. When all was said and done the bill was difficult to read and I was just ready to leave but as soon as we left I realized that I must have been overcharged, that bill was way too high. It doesn't help me now, but watch out! read more

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Midlothian. It just recently changed name to Mr. Pepe's. Same great food, same great staff, just a different owner. The Nachos Supreme is great. Generous proportions. The burritos were delicious as well. We have tried the pollo loco and enchiladas. The salsa is zippy and the cask sauce is delicious. This is a great place with a family friendly atmosphere. They also do carry out. read more

This time the food was a bit better still needs quality control. The server he was awesome, but it was lunch time and slower. The ambiance honestly I love it and the pictures hung. Now what makes me angry, they had strawberry tres leches which was outstanding! Now it's on the menu but they don't serve the strawberry anymore and the regular my daughter make's better. So the tres leches is just alright So unless the strawberry comes back don't bother. read more

This place is a botulism factory. Still sick the next day. Enchiladas are to be avoided at all costs.

this is very good food, the customer service is exeptional. And the overall ambiance of the place is wonderful.

I'm not ordering much from anything these days, but we were craving Mexican. When I ordered on a Saturday night, around 5:57pm, I expected a tasty dish. Instead I received phone call after phone call if I wanted rice or beans. Seriously? Because I was on the other line and could not take the calls, I tried to call back and could not reply to the phone calls as they were not taking incoming calls, so they cancelled my order!! Seriously? OVER WHETHER I WANTED RICE OR BEANS?? In a time when restaurants are begging to stay afloat, give me 1/2 of both!!! So I went back on the delivery website and after 40 min of already waiting for food that did not come, I tried my order again, only to find the restaurant closed. I will never try this restaurant again. We have options, and this will never be an option again. Seriously, they cancelled my order over whether I wanted Rice or Beans???? read more

This review is for the Woodlake location but isn't listed. This restaurant is our absolute favorite for Mexican food. Always delicious, always quick, always great service! My kids love when we order to go from here, everyone loves it! Definitely the best Mexican food in town. I've ordered every taco and burrito on the menu and all are fantastic. Margaritas are great too! read more

Dang Mr Pepe! Why are y'all so P E T T Y?!?!? So you mean to tell me that 6 full meals only deserve 1 order of chips and salsa? I asked the waitress/hostess/girl at the register for more chips explaining that the single order would not split well amongst the 6 meals and she relayed that it is Mr Pepe's policy to provide a single order of chips and salsa for each order and our 6 MEALS count as a single order. The lady behind me thought that was funny too. And my steak was cold while the foil is hot. How do you do that? FYI. This was at the Woodlake Commons location. And the food was honestly not bad, once I heated it up read more

My wife brought home Mr Pepe for dinner tonight. I had chimichanga. It was very good. The way they packaged the food was well laid out. Decided to stop here right after church for a Cinco De Mayo lunch. This place is usually not open on Sunday but they had all hands on deck and was open today. All of the staff was so friendly. From the time we were greeted when we walked in and all during our dining experience we had staff following up and checking on us. The place did not have a wait when we arrived but as we left around 1:30 the place was busy. The atmosphere was lively because of birthday songs and celebrating which added to the enjoyable dining bag experience. I had the lunch portion of chicken fajitas and my friend had the dinner portion on Steak Fajitas and both came out fast and hot. We had chips on the table with two different types of salsa. I recommend trying this restaurant if you're in the area. We will return. read more

I used to bring my family to Don Pepe every Thursday. Something changed after they sold Don Pepe. Some of the staff that we have come to know over the years have left. That says something to me. I have been to Mr Pepe a few times. The menu is the same and some of the Don Pepe crew remained. From what I can tell, the food is still the same. I have no complaints there. I am sure I will return to enjoy another meal at Mr Pepe's someday. read more

Favorite Mexican restaurant in the area and there is A LOT of competition! Chorizo and chicken fan? Get the burrito macho.

White sauce without having to ask? Oh, yes! The sound of that second shiny dish hitting the table is literally music to my ears! Here, my dance continued through fresh, crunchy chips & a huuuge lunch portion of burrito fajita. Not (ever) ashamed to say I ate every bite! I typically am hit in the stomach with regret after my Mexican binges, but after leaving here, I felt great! Maybe fresher ingredients than I'm used to? Anyway, for that reason I'd recommend stopping regardless of the time as your day can still go on afterward! Our service was fast but not rushed and attentive but not annoying. They've also got a specials board outside with some food & marg options that I'll definitely be back for! read more
