The bartender looked at us a few times and continued about her business - no verbal acknowledgment. Very rude.

We waited at the hostess stand like the signage said - we waited...and waited...and waited. The bartender looked in our direction and couldn't have cared less - where was the hostess? Ah yes after 15min of watching people eat and waiting on the hostess she finally showed up smelling of cigarette smoke. The young dirty blonde long haired hostess asked "table for 3?" to which we replied "no thank you" and we left. We are locals and have enjoyed this restaurant for the last 20+ years and today we decided we will take our business elsewhere. Awful, just awful.

    Pretzel sticks

Tried this restaurant for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We were greeted promptly and were offered to either sit in the bar or dining room. We chose the dining room which had a combination of tables and booths. Seating was very comfortable. Our drink orders were taken immediately and our drink refills were by way of a carafe filled with our beverage choice. The menu is very extensive offering plenty of choices for everyone. We ordered the French onion soup, wedge salad, and beef quesadilla and pretzel sticks. The onion soup and pretzel sticks came out together and both were piping hot. The pretzel sticks were soft and covered with plenty of salt. They came with a cheese dip which was a great touch. The French onion soup was covered with plenty of cheese and was nice and brown. Parting the cheese there was an incredible dark broth with amazing beef flavored, an incredible amount of onions and croutons. The flavor was one of the best broths we've had anywhere. The star of the meal hands down! The quesadilla was nicely browned and was loaded with plenty of ground beef and cheese. It was served on a very large platter fulling half of the plate it was so large. Beef had plenty of flavor and was very enjoyable. The wedge salad was a large wedge, one of the largest we've seen surrounded by blue cheese crumbles, tomatoes, bacon and chunks of cucumber. It was served with a large (requested) container of home made blue cheese. Lettuce was very fresh and crispy. The dressing was okay, could have been a little less runny and more flavorful as could the blue cheese crumbles. But still proved to be a large and filling salad. This is a place that has been around for a while. Don't let that deter you from walking in and sitting down and enjoying yourself. Given our experience there's no question we'll be back again to try other menu items. Service is warm and friendly and you'll be well taken care of.

Nice beer on tap and Sarah the bartender is so nice!

+ Sarah our bartender and server was excellent +Yummy Caesar Salad w Salmon +Good selection of beers on taps + nice live music (Sinatra singer) + good portion sizes and reasonable prices + hospitable, kind, and warm service + clean bathrooms + easy parking in the back Cons: -french fries were less cooked than would have liked- next time will ask for extra crispy or opt for a baked potato - was very busy so took a while to have waters refilled but they brought the pitcher when they did refill it! +you no longer have to ask for the special menu for the hot stone grill as of June 2022 they give it to you with the specials menu Get the caesar salad with salmon- it is always a generous portion and tasty

The chefs are true artists, imagining and executing haute cuisine with skill, precision, and personality. We opted for the optional caviar starter course, which was brilliant. The caviar, served with Pringles potato chips and tangy egg salad, was an exquisite introduction to the tasting menu. The house-made sourdough focaccia with homemade butter may have been the best bread we've eaten. The dayboat scallop was pan-seared and paired with ginger whey-poached pork belly, Anson Mills Carolina Gold lobster congee, and a sake-soy veil. It was incredible. The peas and carrots course of Thumbelina carrots, sweet peas, whipped coconut, and carrot-mint consommé was unlike anything we've experienced before. It was inspired. The fluke was sorrel brioche-crusted and accompanied by razor clam escabeche, sauce romesco, and sea beans, was magnificent. The chef spoke about harvesting the local sea beans himself, and the razor clam purveyor happened to be dining alongside us. It was a memorable and distinctly Cape Cod moment. The intermezzo was a cranberry membrane filled with a refreshing burst of vodka, and delightfully cleansed the palate. The optional foie gras bonbon, encased in milk chocolate, was another triumph. We agreed we would have missed out had we passed on it. It was one of the finest foie gras bites we've ever enjoyed. The tri-tip sirloin course featured American Wagyu with sweet onion soubise and toasted ramp-and-vinegar gnocchi. "Amazing" hardly begins to describe it. The Humboldt Fog cheese course was dramatically torched tableside and served with blueberry shallot jam, toasted milk bread, and smoked almonds. Sublime, artistic, and utterly delicious. The included dessert course featured caramelized white chocolate, lychee, pink guava sorbet, macadamia toffee, white chocolate gel, and olive oil sponge. It was unbelievably good. An optional dessert accompaniment, ordered by every diner, was a layered chocolate, shortbread, and banana tart topped with caviar was a playful and fitting finale. The charming atmosphere, attentive staff, and excellent music had diners on their feet dancing between courses. We finished with their homemade Mignardises and were given a lovely packet to take home which included a homemade scone. This restaurant is wildly civilized. Many courses were served on beautiful handcrafted pieces from Scargo Pottery in Dennis collaboratively designed by the chef and the talented Scargo artist Tina Holl. I offer only praise and gratitude for the extraordinary food, welcoming atmosphere, talented and artistic staff, and a dining experience that reminds us how exceptional Cape Cod dining can be. Clean Slate delivered one of the most memorable meals we've had anywhere on the Cape.

Saw the chef make accommodations on the fly for several guests with dietary restrictions not originally conveyed. Staff so very personable. One seating during the week currently. This is a really appealing, intimate, mom and pop (and summer help waitress) place. The hostess/ front of house boss, who was operating from the bar of this 10-12 table location, was gracious and endearing (in the way that an almost overbearing host can be- that meant as a compliment). The drinks took a minute, my fiancé's salad needed blue cheese brought out as it was left off (single most off-putting thing: the waitress, I suspect language mastery being the cause of this rather than malice or willful deceit, flat out told her that blue cheese did not come with the wedge salad...but when boss lady at the bar was asked, this was quickly corrected), there was a heavy does of reggae music. All of this less than optimal. The food was very good, though I can't remember off the top of my head what I had (it's been a month). Nor did I take pics: it seemed like it'd detract from the experience. There weren't any complaints about the food from others. (So I went back and looked at the menu: potstickers as an app- pretty good; baked local seafood as the main- good, but it is what it is in that not a ton of nuance added so as to let the seafood do the talking. The portion was decent for the price. I didn't leave stuffed, but for $38, very reasonable.) All in all, the first visit merits a second visit next year (as the website says they are temporarily closed to seek new management).
