I was told by Dr Eidem that I had 4-5 polyps he had to remove. Three years later I got up the courage to have another colonoscopy as requested by my new doctor. My new doctor informed me after the colonoscopy was over that he found no evidence of polyps ever in my colon. I thought I was going to die after my colonoscopy with Dr Eidem. It took over a year to recover. Please, if you value your health, do not use Dr Eidem. This app made me give him a star, otherwise I wouldn't have.

I had to make my first appointment with his physician's assistant as he is so popular, he's booked for months. So I saw his PA and she was great! She had already read my history and all about what was going on with me! It was so nice seeing someone that was on top of my medical concerns. She said I needed more tests and that Dr Eidem would be the one to perform any additional tests/scopes. So I scheduled an Endoscopy for the following Friday. When I arrived at the clinic everyone was very sweet. When I finally got to meet Dr. Eidem, he was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail about what he was going to do and how he was going to take care if it. He allowed me to ask questions and I didn't feel rushed at all, he's very patient and caring. When he performed the scope he was very thorough and took samples of anything he thought MAY be a problem, but thought everything was great. He's just that thorough that he sends in samples to be sure everything really is ok. So Dr Eidem is great! If you need a Gastroenterologist in the Plano area, he is your man!

**My username is an alias, for privacy reasons. I'm a legitimate patient**…read more Dr. Alvarez or her practice or both are either incompetent, insane, or badly run. I was recommended to Dr. Alvarez by a friend who is a patient of hers. My PCP sent over the referral. I was not allowed to make an appointment with Dr. Alvarez when I called them. First, I was told there had to be a "transfer of care" because I previously saw a doctor in their group (GI Alliance) two years ago. They said that the transfer was pending, a mere formality, and that I should hear back later that day. No one ever called me back so today, I drove over to their office. I spoke with the Office Manager, who flat out said Dr. Alvarez had looked over my chart and is refusing to see me. NO REASON WAS GIVEN. Huh?? That is a first for me. I've never been denied to see a doctor for non-insurance reasons. My PCP's office then called over to them and was again told about the "transfer of care". That's not what the Office Manager had stressed to me. Seems no one has any clue what's going on here and I still have no real idea why Dr. Alvarez is refusing to see me. I urge anyone wanting a referral for her to exercise caution...and consider looking elsewhere. Clearly, there is a lack of transparency here and no real evidence of a doctor who really cares...certainly not about future patients or their health.

Becoming a doctor granted me the art of being able to connect with people while treating their disease and/or ailments. I had been putting off a colonoscopy for about a decade. I didn't realize the age had been lowered…read moreto 45 for your first baseline procedure. I thought it was a rite of passage at 50 years old. Even then, I skipped the procedure because the Covid lockdown was in full effect and all anyone ever talks about is the horrible preparation for the procedure. I opted for the poop-in-a-box instead of the real deal. After the Covid lockdown was lifted, it became impossible to ignore this. Plus, since I wasn't working, I actually had time to deal with the preparation. The administrator that handled my case was very professional, empathetic, but also very persistent. She was not going to let me back out, and frankly I needed this dedicated individual to answer my questions and keep me on target to completion. She was available to answer my questions, no matter how ridiculous or improbable or mundane they might of seemed. Generally she didn't answer the phone, but she was always good about calling me back and giving me the time and attention I needed. The procedure only happens on Mondays and Thursdays. I had to book several weeks in advance. When I got Covid and wanted to cancel, she wouldn't let me. When I told her my fears about the preparation solution, she offered me tablets instead of the unusual tasting liquid. When I had trouble getting the prescription tablets filled at my pharmacy, she rerouted my prescription to a pharmacy that was able to fulfill my request and mail them to me. When I shared my fears about being on a low fiber diet in the days leading up to the procedure, she calmly offered suggestions and helped me come up with a working meal plan. I never did meet this woman, but she is the only reason I was able to get through this procedure successfully. The clinic staff are separate from the administrative people, so you will have to fill out forms again while you wait in the lobby. Once your name is called, the people in the procedure area are all old hats at this. They will go through everything at lightening speed. In fact, since I was without food, water, and sleep, I couldn't think clearly, and consequently, I had trouble understanding them when they spoke so quickly. If there was one thing I would change, it would be asking the staff to slow down just a little. Also, share the medical history from the administrative forms I previously filled out with the procedure staff so that I don't have to do it from memory in a tired and unfueled state. Other than that, everyone was very kind and professional. Despite my fears, they took good care of me. The final report was provided that answered all of my questions. The doctor and nurse did talk to me after the procedure to let me know how everything went, but when you are coming out of anesthesia, it is hard to remember the details. The report had colored pictures of my colon. It was well diagrammed so that you could identify the different internal parts. This report was also sent digitally through the secure portal with the final notes and biopsy results. Depending on your insurance, there may be separate costs for facility charges, anesthesia, and any special tasks that are performed during the procedure, like removing polyps. Because of this, it might be hard to get an exact cost up front. Afterwards, you might be receiving multiple bills from different entities. I hate this! It really should be coordinated and provided to the patient on one bill to rule them all, but such is the status of healthcare in America. Thankfully I don't have to return for a decade. Hopefully in that time, the medical profession will find new ways to screen for colorectal cancers that aren't so invasive or anxiety producing. If not, well, I would certainly trust this establishment with my care again.

They didn't inform me that they would be sending another payment for the same charge, they just call it a "service fee" Not only that, but after my procedure, DR trys to tell me what's wrong, doesn't give me much info..plus I'm already out of it due to being put under for the procedure. I feel they cant ever rememeber anything at all. They pretty much shove you out the door. NOT TO MENTION THEY PRESCRIBED ME MEDICINE THAT LITERALLY SAYS ON THE DOCUMENT THAT IM ALLERGIC TO. I had to call them twice to make them prescribe me something different. WHEN I went in for my followup appointment with DR Chung, he showed me pics and pretty much told me to take meds for a month and he wants to do ANOTHER ENDOSCOPY. Honestly this place just seems to be out for money. I tried to give them the benefit of a doubt but I'm now having to go somewhere else because this place just seems to be a waste of time and money.

This place doesn't listen to your wishes. I went to see a Dr. Kedika through the VA Community Care…read moreprogram, and even though I said I didn't want a colonoscopy in the consultation with him, just the Upper GI Endoscopy that was authorized by the VA, the provider and the clinic ignored my wishes and set up everything for both the endoscopy and colonoscopy. This resulted in me having to get a change in authorization from the VA as I was only authorized for the one procedure. But by the time I was able to get the change made, and the day I was scheduled for the procedures, my authorization had expired. Had the doctor just done what was authorized to begin with and not insisted on an unwanted colonoscopy, I would have had this procedure in the rear view mirror a long time ago. But now, I am dealing with the VA trying to get a new authorization and am having nothing but issues because although the VA has processed a new authorization for this clinic, it's with a different provider at the clinic. But the clinic will NOT allow me to see the new provider. They claim some bs policy about "the continuity of care", even though all I ever had done with this provider is a short 2 minute consultation. I don't like this provider as he went against my wishes and ordered a colonoscopy when I told him point blank I don't want one. So after a bit of back and forth over a few months with this authorization getting approved and what not, I just decided to go to another clinic entirely. Im done with this TDDC clinic. I do not recommend them. They seem to only be interested in money instead of the treatment and wishes of the patient.
