THESE DRS DONT CARE ABOUT YOU
MY work recommended me to come here after I had injured my lower back helping customers load heavy items onto their truck. I came in for a visit and they had me do an X-ray, and then I went into Patels office where he asked me what happened and then proceeded to "examine " me by making me bend forward, backwards, side to side. That was the whole exam, and he said he will put me on light duty and check on me the following week. I had stated that I was already attempting light duty at work and it was actually making my back worse. I asked if it was possible to take a week off to see if the rest would help and he proceeded to decline my request saying" it's state law that if your job offers light duty, you have to work and cannot get workers comp" I asked "even if I'm still in pain while on light duty" and he said there was nothing he can do. I had to use my own sick hours for a week so that I can get the rest I needed to help. I came back to work and I was still in a lot of pain so the next visit, he prescribed me medication and did the same 15 second examination as before. And told me the same thing and sent me away. The last time I came, he laughed when I told him I was too young to be feeling this way, when I was completely serious. I'm todays visit, he tried to increase the amount of weight I can carry and I told him that I don't think it's a good idea, and he told me "it has been 2 months and your still in pain. You shouldn't be in this much pain" and I was so sick of him not taking my pain seriously and I went off on him. I told him that it's not right that he isn't taking my pain levels seriously and if he actually cared about me I wouldn't still be in the pain I'm in. And he said " I guess we have to agree to disagree" and STILL increased the amount of weight I can lift. Since my first visit, not only have I felt worse, but the pain has spread from only being in my low back, to now being my entire back and shoulders.
