I had 3 pictures framed here. My experience shopping for a frame was good, in fact the older gentlemen was very helpful with suggestions. So, I said frame that, and use non glare gallery quality glass. I paid for glass. When I picked up the framed art, they looked very nice. However, the no glare glass was NOT GLASS. I said the the younger guy working there, "There is no way this is glass." But he continues to gaslight me, to the point of saying, "You got problems lady, if you can't tell this is glass." So out of frustration I left and took my plastic or plexi whatever it is they used in the frames home. I tried calling several times to speak to a manager and usually got the younger guy on the phone who told me he couldn't find my work order and then I had to call back. That happened three times. Cut to three months later, I go to a different framing store to get something else framed. I decided to take one of the art pieces Jadite framed with me and ask. This was the guys response. "Glass? No this is no glass. Who did this to you? Who tell you this is glass?" Jadite, you disappoint me. What I paid for was not cheap, and that money is hard to come by. You ruined my experience of buying art for the first time and getting it professionally framed. It makes the knot in my stomach come back every time I see these hanging on my wall. read more

Seeing the great reviews on yelp, I decided to get a beautiful painting framed at Jadite. I had picked up this frame during my travels to Africa. The owner was pretty helpful and I was able to purchase the yelp deal as well. I decided to splurge and went ahead with the services suggested by the owner, paying over $200. I was told that it would take 2 weeks for the frame to be ready. "Occasional splurging/ Investment", I thought! I get a call today and went over to the shop only to be shocked! The owner was not around and the men working at the store helped me to find my framed painting. Even though the painting had a border, the frame went over my painting covering the top part of the painting! I was shocked! When I told the staff about the mistake, one of the guy started shouting at me saying that they did what was on the invoice. I tried explaining to him about the fact that I had consulted with the owner to select the frame and this was not agreed, he shouted even more! I called up the owner who spoke to his men and I was asked to wait for 2 more weeks for them to re-do the work. The guy in front of me was furious and kept speaking angrily in a foreign language. I certainly would not go back here and did not expect this service after spending over $200. I just keep my fingers crossed and hope I have a better update to provide here once I receive my painting back. read more

Very satisfied with the end product, very unsatisfied with the service. Bought a deal from groupon or living social. Used it to frame a print that has sentimental value that my dad gave me. Now at this point I was was happy with the service. The owner, I believe, is a true expert and through his help, we found an awesome mat and frame that wasn't too expensive. I paid for it and was told it would be ready in two weeks. Two weeks later, I receive a phone call saying that the frame was ready. Going to Hells Kitchen from Jersey can be a little bit of a trek, so I asked my fiancee, who works in Midtown, to pick it up. She went, and it was all wrong; there was no mat. We were told that it would be ready in another two weeks and the finished product would be delivered to my fiancee's office Midtown. Two weeks after that I received a phone call saying the frame was ready for pickup. I said that there was an agreement to deliver the frame to my fiancee Midtown. The guy on the other end of the line said he'd have to run it with the boss and hung up on me. Two weeks later, I was still waiting, I was also getting worried. I never got a call back about the delivery. Luckily, I had an interview in the City so afterwards I decided to pick up the frame. It was beautiful and made a 30-40 year old print look brand new. I was told that they were extremely busy and they probably would have delivered it to my fiancee in about a week or so because they had a big installation near her office. They could have called me and relayed that information. It would have brought me some peace of mind. 5 stars for the framing job, subtract two stars for the service. I get that you are busy, but a phone call with information couldn't have taken that much time out of your busy day. read more

Got the $45 for $75 Yelp deal in order to get some work done I'd been planning for a year - I had a great custom frame with museum glass that already had a photograph inside, and a thangka (Tibetan painting) that I wanted to mat and put in that frame. I called ahead and asked about the job over the phone, and the owner was very friendly and helpful. I went by to drop everything off and got advice and assistance on the mat colors from Roberto - he helped me select a double mat and the layering. The guys in the shop obviously like art and what they do, which is always nice to see! When I went to pick up the painting after a week or ten days (exactly the time frame I was given), they offered to unwrap the painting completely so I could examine the work, which was perfectly well done. They had also wrapped up the photo that had previously been in the frame and backed it on cardboard to keep it smooth - this was a large sized piece, so much appreciated. Charming customer service, great quality of work, and wound up costing less than $50 with the discount - I would come back and pay full price anytime for future framing projects. read more

I recently moved to the neighborhood and needed a print framed. I walked by Jadite - an unassuming little shop - and started talking with Roland about my print. He spent tons of time with me, looking through his vast selection of frame options to find the perfect one for me. So I was already happy with the service. But the cherry on top was that when I picked it up and decided I actually wanted a different frame (even though the first one was perfectly nice), he totally took care of me and re-framed it for a really great price. We needed a watercolor framed and had no idea where to go, so I checked Yelp and read the reviews for this shop. They were excellent, so I took a chance and bought the $40 coupon worth $75 off. I was a little worried because it committed us to using Jadite, but once we got there I stopped worrying. The staff member (owner?) who helped us was very knowledgeable and we found the perfect frame. He told us that the job might take a couple of weeks (we weren't in any hurry), but then called several days later to say it was done. We were very pleased with the results and especially with the price. I'd expected to pay $250 for a good frame and museum-quality glass. Including the $40 I paid for the coupon, the total came to less than half that amount. It's great to have a reliable framer like Jadite in our neighborhood. read more

Pretty good neighborhood frame shop. I had them frame two irregular sized items and both came out really nicely. I also ordered a mat by itself to add to a frame I've got at home (an unusual order, I guess), which they forgot to cut when I picked up my other two frames. The owner said he'd cut it and call me the next day, which didn't happen, and when I called back two days later it still wasn't done. The guy ended up cutting it on the spot, which was fine (especially since I live 3 blocks away), but overall not a great service experience. Their work is solid, though, so I'd go back and recommend this place to others. read more

They seemed to be a little backed up and so took a couple of weeks on my project, but that's understandable. As an artist, I found the director and staff very easy to work with in mounting my last painting exhibition. They framed everything quickly and professionally and helped me hang the show. Worst level of customer service I've ever experienced. I dropped off a frame to have them fix it and it took them 4 months of constant visits to complete the project. When I went to pick it up, I was horrified by what I saw. The level of quality and craftsmanship was sooo poor. When I questioned the quality, the owner acknowledged the poor job but refused to fix it. Stay away from here. Plenty of other reputable framers out there!!! read more

They were very helpful with suggesting what frames would look good based on the paintings I brought in and they even smartly steered me away from chosing a color frame that would detract from my painting. It was great they didn't just let me go with the color I wanted. His knowledge of what works well was appreciated. As for the quality, I really liked the result and the price I paid was great. Like many others, I got the groupon deal to use at Jadite. I had this cool map with a picture spray painted on top and was worried that because of the "wrinkly" nature of the art, that it would not look very good in a frame. The guys over here definitely proved me wrong. From the color of the frame to the process they would use, the staff here were helpful in guiding me to a finished product that I was and am still very pleased with. The total invoice seemed pricey, but in comparison to some other spots, it's reasonable. Overall, I would recommend their work. read more

The work itself is good but I paid for a mistake made by the owner and he was not at all accomodating. He framed my picture lopsided (more matting on the bottom then the top) and tried to convince me that most people like it that way and i was suppossed to request it be centered. Very upset he did not admit his error and fix it. Would never recommend him or go again. read more
