Great food. Great service. The food was delicious and just the right amount of flavor. The restaurant staff are friendly and welcoming. Their homemade iced tea is phenomenal; a bit on the sweet side but that's just because I'm not crazy about sweets. Definitely a refreshment after and during your dining experience. I recommend Jade house for their affordable dining experience and great flavor

Sigh. The food is good but why are they always sending Pepsi instead of asking what soda you want? EXTREMELY Annoying.

Fortunately, we discovered Yuan, located in the office area of Newport. We arrived shortly after 6pm on a Friday evening, effectively an early dinner for us and most. The bright side is that we were able to finish easily within an hour. I do enjoy their little booths. We sat in one and kinda felt private even if it wasn't. Just a nice little touch, we felt. To start, we ordered the Eggplant with Minced Pepper Sauce. This had a really nice kick to it. A pretty cool way to eat Eggplant. We enjoyed it. After that, we split Veggie Noodles & the Kung Pao Tofu. The noodles were great as I anticipated. The Kung Pao Tofu was cooked pretty well too. I was looking for something different from the Ma Po Tofu I'm used to eating as I'm getting a little sick of the after taste. This Kung Pao, like most others, has a combination of every flavor palette. Perhaps a little too much for me, but maybe if they could make a General Tso's Tofu, that'll bring me back to my memories of Chinese Takeout! Anyhow, this place is pretty good for dinner at a reasonable time. I highly recommend. My other half will be trying the non-vegetarian options in the future!

We opted for traditional beef broccoli as well and it was flavorful as the noodles. I was happy with every bite! I noticed 3 tables (all chinese folks) were served with the fish dish and as we passed by the dish looked so appetizing so felt we missed out even though the dishes we ordered were very good and flavorful. Definitely will try the fish next go round. Waitress was excellent and provided explanation of the dishes on the menu written both in chinese and english. She provided insider knowledge and created a nice and friendly atmosphere.Inside aesthetic was pleasant, clean & modern setting. We had best seat by the window on the corner just added to a great dining experience!

The dishes are very unique in cultural sourcing - it's not what you expect of a regular Chinese restaurant. The servings are HUGE and good for 2 servings. The ambiance is not that great even though there's a big space and there was a lot of junk sitting around the place like extra stock of drinks and boxes all over the place. I don't think people really eat-in here. When I did takeout, it was still not worth the price of other similar restaurants in the area. Also this place doesn't have combinations sold together -- you have to buy rice on the side for EVERY dish which is not a traditional way to serve each dish in general. The prices here are not worth trying it - way overpriced and overcharged! Should be more affordable since we do not get the rice with the combination plates.

Staff was good, they can speak in English and Mandarin. The inside was very quiet. I was surprised no one was dining inside considering the quality of the food was decent.

Pickled Cabbage & Chili, and Sichuan Spicy Cold Jelly. The Fish Fillet soup was definitely the standout. I absolutely love this dish and order it each time we go for Sichuan food. I really enjoyed the way 62 Secret Kitchen makes this soup. The broth was nice and tangy but the pickles still retained some of their kick. The fish was super tender and the soup was loaded with meat and vegetables. I also really loved the Black Truffle Fried Rice. The beef was really tender and the rice was so flavorful and comforting. I just wish the truffle flavor came through a little more! The Spicy Cold Jelly was just okay for me. It was brutally spicy without much other flavor. The Garlic Morning Glory were super yummy and not too greasy. The leaves were still perfectly crunchy. The inside of the restaurant is so nice and sunlit in the early evening. We sat by the window, which I found really romantic. I loved looking out to the sidewalk and watching people pass by. I also think the service was top notch. Overall we had an amazing experience at 62 Secret Kitchen and would definitely return.

They focus on sichuan and shanghainese dishes, but what really caught my attention was the FREE hanfu experience! It was pretty busy even on a rainy Monday, which says a lot about how popular it is in the neighborhood. It's located near Exchange Place/Grove St PATH! *Noodle w. Shredded Beef & Chili Pepper 小椒牛肉絲拌麵 $16 ** Their dry mix noodles totally exceeded my expectations! So saucy, perfectly bouncy noodles, and they didn't skimp on the bell peppers or beef at all. *Fried Bean Gluten 蘇式烤麩 $13 * My all-time favorite appetizer! The presentation was a little fancier than other spots, and the portion size matched the price as there were plenty of pieces of bean gluten. *Braised Abalone with pork Belly and Quail Egg 鮑魚元寶紅燒肉 $38 A "lucky dish" as abalone shaped like little gold ingots. The abalone was really tender, though I was hoping the pork belly would be melt-in-your-mouth. It came in a hot stone pot to keep it warm. The thick hongxiao sauce made me want a bowl of rice to soak it all up! *Tea-Infused Chicken with Mint 香茶薄荷葉香酥雞 $25 I could hardly taste the tea flavor in chicken, but the crispy mint really stole the show! The chicken stayed juicy and tender, and thankfully it wasn't too "yeet hay" after all lol. *Osmanthus Milk & Fermented Rice 桂花冰酥酪 $10 ** They've got many traditional, nourishing desserts, like pear soup, black sesame paste, and brown sugar fried sticky rice, but we went for floral and refreshing. The osmanthus and sweet fermented rice really popped in the milk pudding! Definitely save room for dessert.
