On our last day in Boston, we walked early morning from our Airbnb by the ocean to visit this great hole-in-the-wall breakfast place and were pleasantly surprised. Here is the summary of our visit: Ambiance 5/5: The name outside is rustic and you can easily miss it so you might have to ask someone in case you walk past it but the inside decor and vibe is great and you feel like you are dining with the locals. Service 5/5: As the saying on the wall says, this is the place where locals gather. In our 5 minutes of waiting at the counter, we could see that everyone knew each other and the person at the counter knew them as well. The service was fast and friendly. The patiently listened to our customizations and suggested great alternates. Food 5/5: The breakfast and coffee were both great. We ordered a bunch of items and were not disappointed at all. I don't remember the names of the dishes but both the omelette dish and the coffee was great. Value for Money 5/5: This is where it shines. Even though everything is great and looking at the local crowd, seems to be this way for a long time, it does not burn a hole in your pocket. Everything was reasonably priced and we had a great experience overall. If you are ever around this area and want to visit a place where locals eat and have fun, this is the place to be! PS: the place gets crowded and the parking can be limited across the road

Store Front!

visited on a Saturday morning with my daughter.....upon arrival, the first thing I noticed is the great parking across the street! We pulled in and got a spot right out front! We walked in and it was a busy time. Lots of action...people waiting for food, people picking up and leaving and others eating at the 6 or so tables. Plenty of help behind the counter and clearly, it was a family-type setting. We were immediately helped and ordered our food at the register. After ordering, we paid and sat down to wait. As we were talking, again, we both noticed how much activity there was in and around the front door. Jac's is clearly a hub for the locals to meet, get something great to eat and to say "hello". I had a full order of French toast (see pic), which was 5 star! Too much for me to finish...that does not happen to me too often! The side bacon was cooked perfectly and the milk was nice and cold! My daughter ordered a breakfast sandwich (see pic), sausage, egg and cheese on a plain bagel. She said the bagel was fresh and tasty! We bussed our own table, when finished and off we went to start the day. If I could give 6-stars, I would.....great stop and Winthrop is lucky to have Jac's Cafe!

Jac's

I found Jac's on Yelp and the reviewers weren't wrong! My husband had the Mountain Muffin (which of course I tried) and I had Jac's burrito. So good, so much food, plus the good coffee and a muffin to go.. and all under $20. We've spent more on just coffee. And the people were darling. Just when you come, don't assume it's closed bc you can't see the sign very well. I'm adding a pic so you'll know..

Crispy hash

What a good breakfast and lunch spot. They have a great variety of sandwiches and awesome breakfast selections. It stinks that I could not eat in here but there is a parking lot across the street to enjoy your breakfast. I had the hash - which was hot, nicely crisp but a bit salty. I like salt so this was a plus for me. Then I had the Spanish Burrito. It was good size and tasty. The thing about this place is that the prices are incredible!! Definitely a great place to come again if I am in the area.

The cafe is a smaller locally owned establishment and very well clearly a fan favorite. On a Sunday morning, almost every booth and seat was occupied. The menu features many of the breakfast fan favorites like omelettes, pancakes, and more. Venturing from my usual eggs benedict, I decided to get their chorizo breakfast burrtio. The chorizo was salty and the eggs were cheesy but I think seeing everyone else's dishes, this is certainly not their house favorite. BUT, my family loved their Morning Star breakfast, Irish eggs benedict, bacon egg & cheese omelette, Hungry Man Special, and corn beef hash. Peep my pictures to truly appreciate that they taste like how they look! From enjoying my breakfast burrito to trying some of my family's dishes, we were all more than happy with our wholesome and authentically American breakfast. The staff were so kind and an honorable mention has to be made for their wall full of acknowledged Winthrop Veterans. Absolutely loved my experience here and already looking forward to the next time I can come back to this cozy environment.

They got our orders in quick and the food came out fast. Everything was good. The espresso martinis was thee best I eva had. I had to have two of them joints! And then... as I'm leaving the restaurant they slid me a small Mother's Day gift! Some cutesy lil earrings with the restaurant's logo. Great food, dope energy, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. I will be back.

As someone who eats out a little too frequently, Angela's is where I find myself most often. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, with family and/or friends or flying solo, Angela's always delivers and after every meal there, I'm already planning my next visit. Snagging a table for breakfast can sometimes be cutthroat, especially on the weekend, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Adela, Roxana, and the entire breakfast crew are always a delight. Whether you choose traditional Mexican or American, you're in for an outstanding meal. I can't recommend enough the deluxe rancheros with chorizo (and green sauce!). For something sweet, you can't go wrong with their pancakes and French toast. On the caffeine front, their coffee is always hot and never-ending, and sometimes I can't resist also having one of their tasty espresso martinis. For dinner, you'll typically find me at the bar which is usually manned by the lovely Marcella. My go-to meal is the poblano and chorizo burrito and a passion fruit margarita. Oh, and their homemade tortilla chips and green and red sauces, which are my hands down favorites out of any restaurant. I've ordered this combo so often I don't have to say a word as I saddle up to the bar. Aside from my combo, I love their guacamole, tacos, tamales, and enchiladas, but as with breakfast, you really can't go wrong with anything they offer. Angela's Cafe excels at what I consider the trifecta of dining out: mouthwatering food and cocktails, fast and friendly service, and a warm and inviting atmosphere. Props to owner Joel for maintaining this high standard all these years and frequently being on the premises to greet patrons. Dining options in this section of Orient Heights may be rapidly expanding but Angela's will always be my happy place. As it says right on the wall, "Mi Casa es tu Casa" and they mean it.
