Thank goodness for Career Transition for Dancers!…read more I never thought of reviewing them until Tuesday night after attending an event about "Keeping Dancers on Their Feet", hosted by the Cedar-Sinai/USC Dance Medicine Center! Such useful information! This is an amazing resource! They provide: *Career Counseling *Educational and Entrepreneurial Grants *On Line Career Resources *Computer literacy instructions .......and much more. ALL FREE OF CHARGE I had the great fortune to find CTFD when I had no clue what to do, after a serious injury made it almost impossible to continue my career as a professional dancer. I took full advantage of their free career counseling, workshops, and computer classes way back in 2001. When I first came to CTFD I was still baffled with the idea that I was soon going to be faced with a future that did not include dance as being my sole financial support and my identity. I had many people trying to convince me to go to culinary school or to go to school to be a sommelier, but it didn't seem to fit into my ideal picture of my future. I also had no desire to "sacrifice" to get the education for either of those careers. I decided to check out the career counseling that was available to dancers who were in transition. Thanks to the guidance of Paulette Fried, and the many programs offered at CTFD I was able to set my top 3 priorities in order. 1. I wanted to get paid to sweat and stay in shape. 2. I did not want to have to wear shoes to work. 3. I wanted to eat and drink with abandon while enjoying many adventures. Paulette was very supportive of my unusual priorities. Instead of applying for a grant "back in the day", I chose to set off to pursue a passionately active lifestyle and find my bliss with the support and encouragement of everyone at CTFD. I have come full circle with CTFD. At the going away party for Paulette Fried, I had realized that I was finally living my top 3 priorities. 1. I get paid to sweat while motivating others to embrace an active and healthy lifestyle. 2. "We Do it Barefoot" in all of my classes and most of my Personal Training Session...I sometimes forget to put shoes on in the morning! 3. My active, adventurous, and healthy lifestyle enables me to enjoy what I eat-guilt free. And 99% of my clients are "foodies" so I get many perks at fine restaurants along with receiving "wine bonuses" from some of my clients when they reach their goals. Here it is, 2009, I own my own business, and I was able to furnish my fitness studio with supplies from http://www.yelp.com/biz/yoga-accessories-dot-com-clifton#hrid:9WV_NNjUHkUUvTbCPmAAzg/src:self thanks to a grant from CTFD. CTFD was there to give me the guidance and support that I needed at a time where I had no direction. The support and guidance that I received from CTFD is priceless. Her input has been invaluable in ALL my auditions since and I've recommended the workshop to many friends who've also seen great results.

Why? 1) Every instructor has a 99th percentile score and 2 or more years of teaching experience before they start at Manhattan Prep. Not only will your instructor have a perfect (or near-perfect) score, but all of his or her colleagues have perfect scores. They're 2) The company invests over $5,000 training every teacher before they're allowed to teach in the classroom. I earned maybe 500 bucks training for my first test prep gig at one of the big companies. 3) They pay their teachers enough so they actually care about their students. I can pay my rent teaching 3 hours a week for this company, so I make sure that my students are happy. I am officially enrolled in the MBA program of my dreams at Yale and I can't tell you how critical…read moreit was for me to work with Chris Peckover at Manhattan Prep. 1 year ago, I decided to study for the GMAT on my own. I was very dedicated and studied EVERY day for a total of 125+ hours over the course of a few months. I practiced problems from the Official Guide. I completed the Verbal and Quant GMAT study guides front to back...twice. Then, I took the test. I scored nowhere near where I needed to be. I was completely devastated. I only had 1.5 months to get my quant score up and I was a severely sleep deprived new mom. Did I mention I was only interested in applying to one MBA program? No pressure, right? I decided to work with a private tutor and went with the best of the best: Chris at Manhattan GMAT. He worked around my schedule and within one session, he knew my study style and targeted my weaknesses. But most importantly, he was able to deliver custom-tailored strategies in a fun and memorable way. He created a proprietary system to zero in on my problem areas to help me improve your score in the most efficient manner. Long story short, I dramatically improved my score quickly and was accepted by my first and only choice school! I couldn't have done it alone and am forever grateful to Chris. The GMAT is not an IQ test. It's all about strategy so work with someone who knows them inside and out. Go with Chris!

I have a BA in Business Management so when i say she is an excellent teacher I mean it. She motivates students and she reminds me of the movie with James Olmos "Stand and Deliver". This is the kind of teacher we need in all schools. She always has a positive attitude and never in a bad mood. It's never boring in her class and everyone's is captivated by her teaching. Many students have passed their real estate license thanks to her. I also like that she always has a smile and has a welcoming demeanor. I also like that she never makes you feel stupid when you ask questions even though some of them might be lol. She's always well dress and well-groomed and never has messy hair or undo makeup. She really cares about her students and she never rushes to leave and will stay after class if you have any questions. I could truly say she goes beyond the Call of Duty. She seriously reminds me of Tony Robin's the famous motivational speaker. She encourages you and doesn't give up and that's why so many students have passed the exam. God bless her efforts . Feel free to send me a message if you have any questions I would be glad to answer them all..
