We chose the patch method for the rips, as I didn't want to lose the texture of the paint on the trees by relining the whole canvas. I have a beautiful 3-foot Italian pot that was accidentally broken into nearly 50 pieces by my then-15-year-old daughter. In an attempt to repair it herself, she did her best -- but the pot was haphazardly put back together with mismatched glue. Needless to say, I thought my beautiful Italian piece was probably beyond saving. Then I met Marco. He completely disassembled the pot, carefully removed all of the old glue, meticulously cleaned every piece, matched the original paint to a tee, and painstakingly pieced the entire pot back together. The result was absolutely incredible. You would never know it had ever been broken. Every detail, every color, every seam was beautifully restored. But what makes Marco so special goes beyond his extraordinary talent as a restoration artist. He is a genuinely kind and caring person who takes the time to get to know you. I think Lana K's review is unfair; this operation is absolutely a labor of love and admittedly, the business end of it is a little haphazard (for instance, I didn't get the receipt that she demanded, but I didn't ask for one). I don't know what tone she used or how the transaction went down, but I can assure you that despite the paperwork, these guys are 150% honest and trustworthy and if you have to leave your work with them, you will absolutely get it back. They wouldn't be in business if they weren't so honest and good at what they do. Most of the restorers I've worked with (and I've been collecting for fifteen years) are much the same; they're knowledgeable about how to restore art, not run a business.
