They are always running on time, and everyone is friendly and pleasant. Its a very clean, bright office; its small but its very well planned. The office is only 2 blocks from the train station, or if you drive they have 2 spots in their lot , or are only 1 block from the municipal parking lot. On his website, it says Dr Rubin is all about giving you a beautiful smile - well I don't know how he is at restorative, because he's so good at preventative. I've been going to him at least annually, usually bi-annually for 24 years (I'm in my 30's) and honestly, I have a great smile, and I believe Dr Rubin is a big part of that. Having a dentist that I not only trust, but that is pleasant, with a great staff means I don't mind going to the dentist, which means I end up getting great dental care. I've had 4 cavities in my life - each were caught very early, and therefore it really wasn't a terrible process to get them filled. I ending up cracking one (my own fault), getting an infection and needed a root canal. Again, it wasn't a terrible process because I had a great dentist, who took care of it quickly. For big jobs he refers me out - he sent me to a surgeon to have my wisdom teeth out. And when I had to have the root canal tooth redone after a decade, and decided to just get an implant, he referred me to a specialist (who was also really great!) Dr Rubin did pull my tooth himself, and he fit and had the new "tooth" made for me. Seriously - the worst part of the whole process - having the tooth pulled, the implant placed, the fittings, etc - was not being able to drink hot coffee for 3 days. That's how painless the procedures were: that's a good dentist! Cleanings and x-rays are like that too, quick, painless and easy.

The bedside manner was great with funny jokes and banter which kept me at ease. The root canal was painless and very thorough. His skills and expertise were on point and my pain and toothache was gone. The molar was also kept in great shape for a crown. Dental insurance and payment was all seamless and explained. First, they opened my tooth knowing full well that I was going on vacation in less than a week. They knew there was a high probability I would need a root canal, yet after opening my tooth, they admitted they didn't have the ability to perform it and referred me out. I was forced to pay hundreds of out of pocket for a CT scan and an emergency pulpotomy, and now I am left with a temporary filling and forced to urgently find a specialist before my trip--a stressful situation that could have been handled much better. Second, they forced me to take and pay for a new CT scan, completely ignoring the fact that I had already provided a clear, up-to-date CT scan from another provider taken just two months ago. Third, their billing practices felt very deceptive. I was initially promised a very decent credit for a routine cleaning since I reached my insurance maximum. However, after the cleaning was completed, they went back on their word and demanded almost full payment. When I tried to speak up and address this, they turned around and increased the bill to around $250. I have been a loyal patient with this practice for years, and they have earned thousands of dollars from me over time. Yet despite this history, they completely refused to offer any fee adjustments or credits for their oversight, leaving me to spend thousands more out of pocket at a specialist. Poor communication, unfair billing, and terrible scheduling management. Save yourself the headache and go to a practice that respects your loyalty, health, and money.
