Dr. Brody was so good with my little scared 9 year old. He was super friendly to my daughter and was extra careful to minimize her yelling and screaming. I never thought I would hear my daughter say "Daddy, the dentist is fun". After my experience, I can truly say he is masterful at what he does and that he is especially careful with young children. Dr Brody and his staff were very willing to make an emergency appointment for me when I was suffering with severe mouth pain. Apparently not visiting the dentist for a number of years can cause all sorts of issues :) but he was very understanding & accommodating, assessed my needs, and formulated a plan of action to help immediately relieve my pain, and address my teeth issues in a timely and cost effective manner. It helps (to me, anyway) that he's a music fan, & allows you to bring your own cd's into the office to play while he's working on his patients. *Caution: Don't challenge him in a music-trivia head to head unless you're very good! * I'm extremely sensitive to pain, I mean E X T R E E M L Y sensitive!, and he took the time and had the patients to ensure when he began extracting two teeth that were at the root (a little dental humor there(g) of my trouble, to make sure (*as he promised he would) that I wouldn't feel a thing. Dr. Brody accommodated my time frames for visiting him, and he and his staff are quite friendly, caring, & understanding. I really can't thank him enough for working with me, and within my budget to help undo the voo-doo which I did to my mouth. Now, If I could just get him to lay off the "smoking is no good for me" guilt trip! (hey, he's a former smoker, so I guess he's one of "those types" (g) But seriously- I know he's only telling me what I need to hear, and providing realistic expectations for the time it'll take for my gums to heal, etc.. I will (eventually) give up the ciggy's doc! Seriously, I just have to do it when I'm ready to do it, & not because I'm being preached to. If you're in the Great Neck area, & looking for a very decent, reasonably priced dentist who knows his stuff, I can't more highly recommend Dr. Stewart C. Brody!.. My family and several close friends have been going to Dr. Brody regularly since 1987, when he took over for our former dentist, Dr. Ira Saren, who sadly passed from cancer. From the get-go, Dr. Brody was very cheerful, compassionate and made the transition pleasant for all of us. We've enjoyed his bad jokes, entertaining banter and occasional singing through the years. Most importantly, he's been a great dentist. Dr. Brody has gone out of his way to accommodate my hectic investment banking schedule - even coming in at short notice on weekends for emergency treatment. He is always mindful of my dental sensitivities and I have had no major dental problems under his care in 31 years, beyond regular cavities and a few root canals. I trust his recommendations and I adhere to his gentle nudging to floss nightly and wear my night guard. I would say his approach to dentistry is old school and conservative - opting to install an inlay, rather than a crown, whenever possible. He is detail oriented and stands behind his work. And, he will, like a concerned uncle, call you if have been negligent in your regular dental checkups (which some of us need!) His office staff is terrific. Paulie, who has been with him forever, is very competent and pleasant, as is his dental assistant Jeff. The office itself, which is now shared by another dentist, is not fancy or very high tech (crowns are not made on premises), but Dr. Brody, who is an avid computer enthusiast, recently installed digital x-ray equipment, which provides instant imaging. The only negative I can report (which loses a star) is the office building itself. The absentee landlord has let the common areas deteriorate in recent years (bathrooms, stairway and hall). This is unfortunate, but should improve with the arrival of the new owner who just bought the property. However, I have never questioned the cleanliness or organization of Dr. Brody's practice. Parking is a breeze, too, with a municipal lot right behind the office. Overall, I know I can count on Dr. Brody whenever a dental problem arises. After 31 years, I consider him not just my dentist, but a trusted friend. read more

My grandpa told me to go to Dr. Brody when my past dentist switched locations, and boy am I happy I listened. I was in and out in 30 minutes tops after a fresh cleaning and there was even a problem with my insurance that Pauly at the front desk took care of and told me not to worry about. Thanks to Obama care, this place was the only place I could go for dental care for my children, but after my first experience, I've decided to pay cash for another place of my choice. First of all, I'm always cautious when chaging a dentist for my little children as dentist visits can be daunting. The office staffs were extremely nice and polite. However, all went down hill as soon as we went into the exam room. Every single equipment was filthy dirty that I felt like I was in a developing country. He didn't even use a suction so I had to ask him for one for my child. She was gagging and he didn't even care or notice. It seemed almost as if he was trying to save cost by saving his tools. He kept oiling his tools which I found disgusting, and he used his gloved hands to open the window and other things. Instead of changing the gloves, he would wipe them with tissue paper. He used a q-tip to apply flouride. All he did was cleaning but didn't even examine their teeth properly. I had to ask whether he noticed any problems and he reluctantly said no. As soon as my child reluctantly sat down on the chair, he said "are you ready to get tortured" as a joke which freaked my already nervous child out. Who does that??? I wish I can report this office to the New York State Dental Association. If restaurants get letter reviews and inspected, I strongly believe that medical or dental offices should too. This place is so dirty, even my little child told me as soon as walked in that she wanted to leave. The entire building is smelly and dirty too with strong cigarette smell. And there isn't even a sign of the office location once walk into the building. A toy box in the waiting room was so dirty that I asked my children not to touch it. No wonder the office had no waiting customers. If you care about yourself or your family, please stay away from this place. Again the front desk lady and gentleman are very nice so it's unfortunate that the doctor maintains his business this way. read more

The first thing I noticed about Dr. Brody was the calm and cool demeanor he had. Some dentists I had in the past were finicky, and in turn made me feel nervous. He was as calm as could be, told me exactly what to expect and did just that. His staff was nice and professional as well. I will definitely be returning and recommending my family to him. read more

I was a patient of Dr. Brody for a few years, I deeply regret that. Like most people, I researched him online and saw all the glowing reviews. Initially he seemed like a nice guy with a bad sense of humor, but after several visits his true colors came out. In my opinion he is not a good dentist, actually far from it. Two of my teeth are ruined because of him. He puts up a smile, but he is very deceiving and in my opinion, very incompetent. I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy. After all the problems, I went back and started looking closely at all the glowing reviews. Turns out the majority are self written, that's extremely dishonest and unethical. If I could give a zero for this doctor, I definitely would. Where do I start....very poor service from staff and extremely unorganized. His office is dirty and nasty. His bedside manner is awful, I took my young daughters there and they were very uncomfortable. He made me leave the room to do an exam???? Who does that?? He would leave in the middle of the exam and go to another room who he had another patient he was working on. Who knows if he changed his gloves in between patients?! To top off the horrible experience he not only charged my insurance but sent me a bill to pay as well. He had charged for unnecessary things that he did not even perform and insurance wouldn't cover. I am absolutely appalled by this "Doctor's" service. Stewart Brody is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever encountered. He was extremely insulting and would would speak to me like a child; he would threaten me with shots if I made a noise due to pain (the pain wasn't even from the work being done, but from the way he was aggressively grabbing and pinching my face). He would actually yell "You want me to give you a shot? Because I will if you won't hold still!" while I was struggling under his Kung Fu grip. Other times, he would make comments such as "Don't be such a baby, it's just a brush." And yes, I did tell him multiple times that his grip was the problem, not the tools. It seemed as though everything I said would just go through one ear and out the other. I was disgusted by how unhygienic he was with everything. I have witnessed him drop tools on the ground and simply pick them back up and continue to use use them in my mouth. He would work with his bare hands, because apparently "gloves made things difficult", and I felt the hair on his fingers and hands as he put them in my mouth. Absolutely repulsive! He would also touch the crown with his fingers, and even dropped it on his lap numerous times - catching it between his legs. Disgusting. He would've definitely gotten an earful from me if I hadn't been stuck in the chair with tools in mouth, unable to speak. He didn't wear his face mask correctly either. It was always on but was always around his neck, not his face. He kept breathing into my mouth while he worked on me. He doesn't care about the work he does, and isn't the least bit attentive to detail. When the crown came in from the lab, I asked him what kind of information they left about it, he said he didn't know because he "didn't bother to read the note". Additionally, he couldn't read his own x-ray that he took of me - he claimed that I didn't have a post when I was sure that I did, I even took it upon myself to confirm with my primary dentist. He replied with "Oh, ok. I still don't think it's there, but let's just say that it is". Incredibly unprofessional. It took him an inconceivably long time to get the first molding for the crown done correctly. The appointment I had with him for the impression molding took over 3 hours! All of the temporary crowns he would give me kept breaking the next day, even though they are supposed to last for over a week. I had to (unfortunately) go back to his office several times to constantly replace the temporary crowns until the real crown came from the lab. It also baffles me how a dentist (an older one at that, who has supposedly had some years of experience) does not know that suction is necessary if an impression is being taken for 3+ minutes. But no, he kept me laying in the chair, chocking on a pool of my own saliva. He always had his back turned while he had me hold the impression tool in my mouth, and when I tried to get his attention, he told me not to dare move because impression wasn't finished. I've never felt so disrespected by a doctor before. I found him through Zocdoc.com - which I've now realized is a scam website (no bad reviews for ANY of the doctors on that site...really?). I've researched and found that the glowing reviews are actually all written by employees of Zocdoc, and apparently the more money a doctor pays their company, the higher up on the list the doctor appears on their search engine. I wouldn't recommend this doctor to ANYONE! Not even someone I hated. I certainly won't be using Zocdoc again either. I'd imagine that the only doctors that are okay with paying for fake reviews are bad and dishonorable ones. read more

Dr. Brody is a great dentist. Had a cleaning with him and it was clean and quick. Pleasant experience.

As a first time patient at Dr. Brody's I was very impressed with his cordial and knowledgeable staff. I recently switched dentists to be closer to my location. The Dr. explained the procedures before he performed any work, and what was to be expected. As promised the results were wonderful and I am so happy that I made the switch to Dr. Brody. I will definitely continue being his patient as I was treated with the utmost respect. I would definitely recommend his office to anyone looking for a new dentist. read more

All these nasty reviews? Dr. Brody has been my, and my families dentist since we lived in bayside queens in the early 90's. Dr. Brody has helped me keep my teeth in tip top shape, and always recommended the right specialist for the right reasons since day 1. Whether it had been his dental school former classmates for my braces, or referring me to a fellow Great Neck colleague for when I needed my wisdom teeth taken out just before I left for basic training. When I was in Afghanistan, I managed to break my 2 front teeth, in a convoy, I banged them on the rear sight of a weapon, and skipped Army dentists, to come home and see Dr. Brody and his staff and get the job done right. When I arrived to the office I was in and out in under 30 mins. I really hate it when doctors give you the go around and a lot of technical terms that catch you by surprise, Dr. Brody was very straight forward and answered all of my questions. They maintain the office cool, clean, and organized unlike some other offices I have seen. It was a very good clinic and I plan on revisiting for any future needs. Thumbs up! read more

Dr. Brody is the best dentist I had ever met. He is very dedicated to what he does and truly cares about his clients. I was always afraid of dentists and therefore I haven't seen a dentist for quite a while. Dr. Brody's friendly and caring manner had made all my fears gone.
