    On October 27th, 2019, I had my home warranty American Home Shield send out Jacob's Plumbing and Heating to diagnose my Water Heater and to see why it wasn't producing enough Hot Water to bath in and to use to wash my dishes. Jacob came on October 31th, 2019 with his assistant and all they did was run their hands under the bathroom faucet and contradict everything I had to say concerning how the water heater was performing. I told Jacob that I had just bought the home a little over a year ago, and the water heater was almost 9 years old. I told him that we had hard water and that I had drained the water heater several times to get all the hard water white scale out of the tank and that we just got a water softener to help with that and he really didn't seem to care what I said. He just went on by saying that Orcutt, Ca has hard water and draining the tank doesn't help. He then went on to criticize how the water heater was installed and I stated that I can't help how it was installed, it was existing when I purchased my home. I also stated that the home inspector didn't see any problem with the Water Heater, he just warned me that the water heater was almost 9 years old and that they don't usually last more than ten years. But Jacob continued to be negative towards me by saying Home Inspectors are not trained. They usually only have taken a written test to get their certification to be a Home Inspector. I just ignored Jacobs comment and walked him out of my home. Jacob also told my home warranty that there wasn't anything wrong with the water heater, after I contacted the home warranty to see why there wasn't any word concerning when my water heater was going to be fixed. So, when I contacted American Home Shield, I told them how Jacob acted towards me and criticized everything I said, they went ahead and sent two Plumbing Contractors out to inspect why I wasn't getting any hot water. When they came out, they both totally disagreed with Jacob's plumbing and stated that my water heater needed to be replaced because it was too old and they're maybe a recall on the water heater! Overall, I wouldn't recommend Jacob's Plumbing and Heating, because of Jacob's negative attitude and he will possibly lie to you!!

    New handicap shower installed replacing the tub I had before,  Excellent job!

    Rude, lazy, complaining about he isn't paid enough to complete our job, he only spent 20 minutes. So disappointing

I called J R Barton Heating, Air Conditioning, Sheet Metal for sheetmetal work at my residence, they seemed interested and took down my contact information, telling me the job would be quoted time and material and I was placed on their "wait list." Three weeks go by and I called back to inquire about my position on the "wait list" only to be told my job was mis placed, and never placed on the schedule, but I would be added to the front of the "wait list." Serval more weeks go by and I call back only to be told this time they are swamped with work and are not able to provide a time line at this point. Reading other reviews this seems to be a common practice at JR Barto Heating possibly cherry picking the more desirable jobs and leaving the others hanging indefinitely.

They provided a quote to fix my gas wall heater for $1,141. That's nearly the cost of purchasing a new heater. The contractor I ultimately chose to do the job charged $400. 2. After declining their insanely high estimate I got a bill in the mail. I was not told there was a fee for a proposal nor did I agreed to pay anything prior to their tech visiting. After refusing to pay it they sent the "unpaid debt" to a collections agency. Since when can a business charge someone without their consent? 3. The contractor I chose to fix my heater said he had fixed work done by JR Barto numerous times. Save yourself the hassle and take your business elsewhere.

They then charged me to send a technician out who didn't know how to fix it after 1.5 hours of work. When I complained they offered to install a new thermostat for $320! When I persisted in complaining and asking for service, THEY BLOCKED MY PHONE! (Finally I found a solution myself by spending over an hour in several calls to Honeywell's service line.) NO HELP OR CONCERN FROM HOMEPATIBLE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Matthew's response is inaccurate! We did not ask for a new thermostat! They offered it. It was not functional because it was installed wrong, as I later learned through my own research with Honeywell. There was absolutely no need for the $320 upgrade David proposed, and his proposing that was a profound insult! Blocking my phone was utterly unprofessional! There was no need to charge me for a service call by someone who didn't even know the easy fix that the competent and helpful tech at Honeywell advised me to do over the phone. And Homepatible's intransigence continued even knowing this was a health-related problem due to severe allergies and wanting to filter the air in our home. If this were a reputable company, they would have fixed it right away. Now if they are reputable, they will admit their mistake and refund my $89 for the useless service call!
