Hatch Beaker + Burr -- Spokane, WA…read more Midweek in Spokane and I was not expecting to walk into what felt like a warm hug disguised as a café. Wednesday morning. Doors open. Immediate vibe shift. Warm. Vibrant. Eclectic mix of humans scattered throughout -- laptops open, friends mid-laugh, someone clearly pretending to work. The energy felt alive without being chaotic. That's a sweet spot. The woman who served us? Absolute pro. Friendly with everyone. The kind of person who makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. Easy to talk to. Zero rush. Hospitality done right. We grabbed a solid-sized table for the group while one of the crew made a pastry run. Strong team execution. Now for the order: Iced latte. Almond milk. Honey. My control beverage. My combine drill. It was exactly what I expected -- smooth, balanced, no drama. And somehow... it tasted better because of the room. Setting matters. Coffee absorbs vibes. That's science.* (*Not verified.) This is one of those places you can: * Meet friends for breakfast * Post up and "work" for 4 hours * Or grab a quick coffee before pretending you're not late Would I come back? Absolutely. For the coffee, yes. For the vibes? Immediately. If you're visiting Spokane, this is a must-stop. No overthinking required. Rating 4.3 / 5 Açaí Berries Breakdown * Taste: 4.2/5 * Vibes: 4.7/5 * Service: 5/5 * Sit-All-Day Potential: High Current Status: Spokane Approved Lesson Learned: Coffee tastes better when the room feels right. Next Stop: Back to bowls. Always. -- The Açaí Guy

I wanted to get a latte with maybe a seasonal flavor. Was disappointed with their flavor selections. I asked if they have holidays flavors and they said no. They had pumpkin spice only. Ended up just getting a chai. It was fine tasting, pretty average sweet chai. Was also $7.50 for a 16 oz chai which is steep.

Atticus Coffee and Gifts combines two of my favorite things: a great gift shop and a great coffee…read moreshop. And out of all the new businesses I visited in 2025, this was my favorite. (Unfortunately I literally live on the other side of the country, so before my trip to Spokane ended I made it a point to stop by Atticus multiple times.) The gift shop portion of the store stocks what feels like a little bit of everything. Books, stickers, soaps, lotions, trinkets, home decor, t-shirts, art, books, cards, chocolates...and that's just what I remember! And then the coffee shop portion has a surprisingly large menu. I'm used to coffee shops in stores being more like small coffee stands; but nope, this operation feels like a fully stocked coffee shop. Plus they also serve tea, matcha, and smoothies...and breakfast sandwiches, AND pastries. As you might imagine: this all makes the store smell quite good! There aren't a ton of seats but when I visited with family, we managed to find a couple tables so we could enjoy our drinks and snacks sitting down. Their coffee is very, very tasty - I tried both hot and iced lattes during my multiple visits. I didn't have tea on-site but I did buy some of their blends to brew at home, and they are also very, very tasty. Unfortunately they don't do online sales, and since I was traveling I didn't have the space to pack up everything I wanted to take home with me. Maybe future me will have the chance to come back...in the meantime, I hope you lucky locals appreciate this place as much as I did!

When we arrived, the customer service at the bar for pickup was just as great--smooth, efficient, and genuinely pleasant. The food definitely delivered. The pretzel was excellent, paired with a crazy good mustard that took it to another level. I ordered the curry, and it was a fantastic dish--rich, flavorful, and downright delicious. My daughter had the kids spaghetti with chicken added, and she confidently declared it the best spaghetti she's ever had... so there! Overall, a great experience with standout service and tasty food. I'll definitely be back to try more from the menu before giving that fifth star.

This spot hit exactly what a real coffee shop should be…read more I had a cortado, and the espresso was dialed in beautifully--earthy, nutty, and balanced. You could tell right away the beans were quality and treated right. Nothing over-roasted or hidden behind milk. The flavor came through clean, and when paired with the milk, it was smooth, rich, and just right. But what really made it special was the atmosphere. This is one of those places where you don't just grab coffee--you stay. We sat, laughed, told stories, and just enjoyed the moment. That true coffee shop energy where time slows down and conversation takes over. I'm visiting from New York, but this is absolutely a go-to spot anytime I'm in the area.

You can tell…read morethe baristas here really care about making a good, fun and creative drink for their customers and the regular + seasonal menu reflects that---as well as the time they take in making your drink. Even though it's on the more expensive side, I think their attention in making even one drink that you order does make it feel worth it. Plus, my latte was so rich and creamy, which also makes it feel like a more high quality latte, unlike some more casual chains where a drink can be less reliable in taste. Also they play good music- it made for a very welcome change in atmosphere compared to other food/drink spots in spokane that are so white
