I had a very disappointing experience with Dr. Jacob Sedgh following a chin implant procedure. I chose him because I was told my implant would be customized during surgery. He arrived about 1.5 hours late on the day of surgery. The procedure was done under local anesthesia and I experienced significant pain. I could feel instruments contacting bone and no additional anesthesia was provided despite clear discomfort. After surgery, my chin was visibly uneven, with one side sitting much higher and bulkier (see photos). I developed pressure on my teeth, numbness in my lip and chin, and could feel the implant protruding inside my mouth. I repeatedly tried to speak with Dr. Sedgh but was told he does not take postoperative calls or video visits, which contradicted how responsive his practice claims to be. My follow-up was delayed, and I was told to wait two more months to reassess despite worsening symptoms. I ultimately needed revision surgery with another surgeon. The implant was found to be malpositioned and had to be surgically corrected. The original implant was removed intact and unmodified despite being told it would be customized (see photo). Ok, so honestly I feel bad about the initial review. DR Sedgh did a really great job. And while we didn't get the initial results we were looking for we were much happier having him play it safe then having been to aggressive. You can't regrow after it's been cut. We should have been better about bringing our disappointment to Dr Sedgh as when we finally did bring our concerns with the results he was really accommodating. Even though it's now been a few years since the surgery. He is going to be doing a revision and we are very excited about the prospects. "There's something wrong with your brain." That's what Dr. Sedgh told me when I shared feedback about the results of my nose. In my consultation, I asked Dr. Sedgh to address: 1.) hanging columella, 2.) rotation and 3.) some very minor scar tissue removal from one side of my tip. What I got instead was a nose that was even more over-rotated than before, an even more accentuated hanging columella, and a severely narrowed tip. My nose looks incredibly unnatural. I have since seen other doctors who agree that Dr. Sedgh's work is way overdone and unnatural looking, stating, "You have a very pointy LA nose." As an ethnic woman, I couldn't be more displeased and embarrassed by Dr. Sedgh's work and as expensive as this choice was, I would never recommend Dr. Sedgh. read more

I had a primary rhinoplasty done by Dr. Sedgh six months ago. Knowing that rhinoplasties are complex procedures, I tried to keep my expectations in check beforehand. However, the result ended up being about as perfect as a real-life nose can be. He didn't dramatically change the size, as with many other male rhinoplasty cases I have seen by other surgeons online; he improved each element--narrowing the ridge, defining the tip, and symmetrizing everything--so the end result wasn't just a "fix" but a legitimately good-looking nose. Dr. Sedgh is very personable, which is important to me because I am very sensitive to getting a certain type of "social anxiety" with many doctors if I do not get a "good vibe" or "professional vibe" from them, but it has all been positive vibes with Dr. Sedgh and his team! So, I ended up "adding on" some more cosmetic procedures (i.e. brow lift, lip lift, mid-face lift) to combine the required "recovery times" (For me personally, I have an extremely busy work schedule, and my role is extremely customer facing. I am "on video calls" almost all day usually, so I preferred to just "knock it all out" at once - in other words, I wanted to "get it over with" quickly in terms of my surgical recovery/scheduled "down time"). Dr. Sedgh and his team have put in extra time and effort before, during, and after my surgery and follow-up appointments. Dr. Sedgh has also has been treating my scars with CO2 Laser, since the surgeries, and we are seeing prompt results with the scars healing very well! They never rush me through things at all, and have taken the time to listen and answer all of my questions. I am now in the process of scheduling a full-face CO2 Laser, likely for this fall...I am working it into my busy work schedule :) This will provide the "cherry on top" since this procedure will provide additional "finishing touches" in terms of improvement for my skin texture, fine lines, etc...), which I am extremely excited for! I had finally decided to get some work done but after seeing shows like Botched I wanted to be sure to do a lot of research. I compiled a list of more than 2 dozen surgeons that I got from various "Top" lists in SoCal. I removed some pretty quickly as I felt the Dr's with tailored scrubs to show off their biceps or who were dressed in $10,000 suits might not be as patient focused than I was looking for. Others got taken off because the office staff seemed disconnected and/or their website didn't mention the procedure I wanted. After looking at education, experience and reviews I got the list down to six. This may not seem like a lot but keep in mind the office charges a fee for consultation that is deducted only if you have the procedure with them. Gets costly$$ Appointment day arrived and while other office staff reminded me of Regina George from Mean Girls the office staff here was kind and professional but NEVER hard sold me on anything. They gave options for enhancements but I was never pushed. The environment was clean, pleasant and very organized. All this put me at ease. Now on to Dr Sedgh.. The doctor is obviously experience, focused on the patient/procedure and is very capable. Not only is Dr. Sedgh a great plastic surgeon, but he and his team are also extremely professional and kind. Four months ago I had a rhinoplasty and earlobe reconstruction done by Dr. Sedgh, and I'm incredibly happy with the results! From the beginning, his staff was quick and responsive, scheduling me for a consultation less than two weeks from the first call. During the consult Dre. Sedgh was extremely kind and an attentive listener, as he asked what my concerns were, went over the entire process, and used photographs taken to digitally show what the rhinoplasty results could look like (with a 3D tool). The surgery itself was simple. I was asleep less than 90 seconds after entering the surgery room and just remember waking up in the recovery room. While the recovery process can be a bit tough for the first week, the results were definitely worth it! A week later, Dr. Sedgh removed the cast and while my nose was still quite swollen, I could already see a positive difference. Honestly, by day twelve or thirteen, I believed the swelling was basically gone, and felt more than comfortable going out and taking photos. I continued to follow up with Dr. Sedgh often for the first two months, and less frequently as time passed. I should mention, the consult does cost $200, and goes toward the total cost of the surgery if you choose to go ahead with the procedure. I was asked to put 30% down to book the surgery, and was offered CreditCare as an option with one year zero interest, if qualified, for the rest of the costs which I took advantage of. After doing research, I found the price of each procedure quite reasonable/competitive. Overall, I am extremely satisfied and impressed by the the results Dr. Sedgh achieved. Particularly from my experience, I find he is quite incredible at nose tip reconstruction, as well hump reduction. My main concern was reducing my hump, and my expectations were exceeded. I had my rhinoplasty surgery this august and wanted to wait before writing a review. Unfortunately I am not satisfied with my results nor is Dr himself. He suggested to do a revision surgery as soon as possible since my nasal bone did not heal well and is very wide and swollen looking. I also believe the tip of my nose is higher than I expected which makes my nostrils appear wider than before and feels very tight and uncomfortable. I am not sure if this was caused because his lack of care post surgery (due to not finding solutions to reduce my abnormally severe swollen), or it's the way he did the surgery. In 2008 I was in a very bad car accident where the left side of my head was de-gloved. My scar was fixed in the OR by a plastic surgeon, but it left me with underlying scar tissue which made my forehead and eyebrow look indented. My daughter had rhinoplasty by Dr Sedgh in December. The entire experience from start to finish has been awesome. The staff is so lovely and kind. Dr Sedgh is straight forward and knowledgeable and honest. The assisting staff during her surgery could not be better. They were so attentive and kept me informed all throughout. We though my daughter may need a skin graph but he ended up being able to do it without. My daughter is so pleased with the results and it's only been 5 months. I had surgery with Dr Sedge to fix functional and cosmetic issues that I had for years. I had two previous botched surgeries so I was extremely nervous. The last surgeon who botched my nose was located in Beverly Hills so I had lost faith in doctors. I did extensive research on Realself, yelp, Instagram, past patients and I made the best decision and chose Dr. Sedge. I paid to see several doctors in Beverly Hills and the OC. I was also praying to choose the best doctor, I knew revisions are very complicated surgeries and it takes a very skilled surgeon like Dr Sedge to fix cosmetic as well as functional issues. I also knew I needed an accomplished doctor who had good bedside manner and who is compassionate, empathetic, and supportive and takes pride in his work. I prayed so much and I chose Dr. Sedge. I had my surgery in December but I took long to post the review because I wanted to see how he treated me from beginning to end. Trust me, I was super anxious and he walked me through the entire process with the utmost respect and empathy. My mother who is more anxious than me is set to have a mini-lift very soon. Best Doctor ever, words can't describe how thankful I am to have found the one, the meant to be Doctor for me... after multiple consults and extended research I could not be happier... when every other surgeon made me feel bad for having an "ethnic difficult case" (there words) "with unrealistic result expectations" (again there words). He Took on my surgery, my difficult case without hesitation, making me feel comfortable during my consult, explaining in detail what my surgery would consist of, what I should expect... he asked me what my expectations where and with confidence said He would try his best to deliver, I must say he did not fail me. Let me not forget about the staff, wonderful team... they have been approachable til this day, they have made them selves available; answered every question, addressing every concerns & worry always making me feel welcomed during every visit. Indeed one for all & all for one! i've seen dr sedgh 3 different times and the first two times were great, got amazing results and was charged the amount i was told it would be when first making the appointments. My 3rd and last time was last August. Called and made an appointment for chin filler and was told on the phone it would be $800 for 1 syringe of Juvederm Voluma XC. the day of my appointment as we were walked to our room by the receptionist, she said we came at a great time because the filler i was going to get, Juvederm Voluma XC, was on sale for $800! and i even said to my mom, that i didn't know that was the sales price but i was happy because that's what i was expecting to pay going into the appointment. dr sedgh is great and friendly and the appointment goes great with amazing results that i'm happy with and he only used 1 syringe of Juvederm Voluma XC. then i'm told when checking out it'll be $1,200. i told them how i was told on the phone weeks ago and that same day it would be $800 and my mom was with me and she heard everything as well. the receptionist agreed i should only be charged $800 so that's what i paid... until i got in the car and am driving away and they call me back saying i owe them $400. at this point i still wanted to see dr. sedgh again because he delivers amazing results and is so kind, so after some back and forth and pushing back a little saying i don't feel it's right to charge me more, i reluctantly agreed and gave my card info for an additional $400 over the phone. i honestly feel really taken advantage of because i was told multiple times, even that same day as i'm walking into my appointment that it'll be one price, and then when its all done and the filler has already been injected they say it's $400 more. its not like i can take the filler out and return it. i think it was really wrong what they did. there's plenty of other great doctors in LA that unfortunately i will be going to instead read more

Holy moly, all I can say is thank god I found this MD! I had almost given up on botox helping my disheveled forehead. Every time I tried, I ended up with a heavy brow and droopy eyes. I have mostly gotten botox from RNs before, and though some might be great, I will never get botox from anyone again who isn't a board certified facial plastic surgeon. I am SO happy with the results and have newfound love for botox. I will never ever cheap out on botox; you certainly get what you pay for. That being said, Dr. Sedgh used less botox than other places have used, and I look a million times better; that is a win win for me! Of further note is that it was less painful than my prior experiences, and I had practically no bruising. Furthermore, the office staff is nice and personable, and so is Dr. Sedgh. Needless to say, I will keep coming here for my botox. read more
