Made a same-day reservation for brunch. The buttermilk fried chicken and sweet corn waffles were awesome - definitely recommend. Side of cheese grits were also solid. Great neighborhood spot, though it did feel a little expensive.
I've dined here a few times. I always get the Eggs Benedict dish and the first time it was amazing, anytime after that it was bleh. The vibe of the restaurant is nice, it was updated from the previous owner but kept some of the original art. The servers are attentive and kind. Just hope you go on a day when the good chef is in. The food is okay but I've tried it when it was great so I will keep going back until I can say it was great again.

Only giving this 3 stars because our food was pretty dry and our server took a while to come around with the bottles of water and see if we wanted more pitchers. I personally got the fried chicken with pancakes. Flavor was great, but the chicken was dry and the syrup just make my whole mouth feel very sticky. My dad got the burger and said it was very good Brother got the eggs Benny and said it was good Mom got a chicken breakfast sandwich and similarly said it was very dry Watermelon pitchers were great!

Super cute brunch place for a Sunday morning. We were craving southern comfort and wanted a place close to the Gantry State Park. The portions are on the smaller side but the food is delicious. We ordered the chicken and waffle, shrimp and grits, and a platter of fruits for the kids that are picky eaters. Ditch the strollers if you can help it cause there isn't a lot of space inside! Service was superb!
Was looking for a brunch spot in LIC and saw Jackson's with their southern food menu and decided to give it a go. Pretty good place for brunch with generous servings. Lots of proteins with both orders. Pulled pork yam hash was great with lots of meat. Eggs were runny. Nice Chicken and pancakes. Decent. Crisp. Fluffy pancakes. Overall decent brunch spot. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. Note that indoor seating is not dog friendly.
Neighborhood diner type of eatery. Owner/manager has handle bar mustache (think coolest man in the world character). Great wait staff , super friendly and prompt. Coffee excellent, carafe mimosas and bloody Mary's. Full bar. And food is amazing and hearty. You won't leave hungry or with anything left on your plate. Something for everyone even the annoying vegetarian cousin lol.
Ate here as a party of 3. The service was very on point, but then again, we were the only people there at 6pm on a Friday night. We first ordered appetizers: hush puppies and fried green tomatoes. I didn't love the fried green tomatoes- they could have been crispier. The breading was disjointed with the tomatoes itself. My uncle really liked his catfish entree, and my boyfriend liked his ribs. I got the fried chicken. The sides of the potato salad and the collard greens + bacon were decent. The fried chicken was super crispy, but it wasn't that flavorful. I wished there was some sauce served with the dish, or it had more salt. I added salt and asked for honey mustard - they had a hot honey sauce, but both didn't add much to the chicken. Overall it was good food, okay option for Southern cuisine. Very casual spot that had a mix of a sports bar feel in the front (there is a TV!) and general dining. There's also patio dining!
I came here for brunch on a weekend and there were still a lot of seating for my date and I to chose from! We picked a little area close to the window and sat down. It had a nice cozy feel while still being spacious enough. Every item on the menu looked and sounded incredibly amazing. I wish I had a big enough appetite to get at least 3 dishes to try. I did settle on a Fixin' to Feast which included 2 eggs of your style, biscuits and gravy and some yam hash. I must say that on presentation, very appetizing and inviting! Those biscuits and gravy were the star of the dish!!! The savory thick gravy atop a crumbly warm biscuit was so soul hugging- paired with a side of sweet yams! When I saw hash- I thought it would be crispy. Though it was slightly underwhelming, flavors were still very good. The sweetness of the yams helped balance the saltiness and heaviness of the gravy. Then the blanket of scramble eggs completely the brunch meal! Wait staff came by to check in on us a few times and made sure we enjoyed the food too! Overall, nice staff, service and great ambience on a weekend to start the day on! The location is great because it is just a few blocks away from the waterfront/pier where you could walk after the brunch and hang out!
Group of three enjoyed Caesar salad; Brunch burger with home fries; Southern Eggs Benedict. All were good, Fun diversion-Eggs Benedict served on two small pancakes with option of regular or jalapeño Hollandaise sauce. Staff were pleasant and not intrusive. Cocktails were very good! Room was on the cold side- Most patrons wore their hats and jackets while eating. Even sitting on the metal chairs was a little bit of a wake up! That being said- appreciate energy savings and once acclimated it was not a problem.
This was a brunch to remember! Especially if you love southern comfort food, you will definitely not be disappointed! Order the Mac and cheese, French toast, chicken and waffles and biscuits! Also got the shrimp and grits, which I didn't love b/c the tomato paste overpowered the pallet. This place has great service and a lovely open space with great ambiance! Recommended for a big gathering, you will not be disappointed!
My girlfriends and I went for brunch Saturday around 11:30 AM. We were lucky enough to get a table for three. The staff is very good. The vibe is awesome. And the food is yummy.
I remember coming here a few years ago and had a cool experience so I figured I try it again. I decided to have a short stack of pancakes scrambled eggs and their biscuits. The short stack is just 2 pancakes. They're pretty huge too. I honestly could just do one personally. I just can't eat huge portions. Good thing I had someone to share with. The pancakes were delicious though. I'd get them again. The syrup was super thick. Wasn't too crazy about it. It'd be great if they had a maple syrup option. Just an idea The scrambled eggs.. I thought they'd be fluffy. They were more like a flat omelet.. Not a huge fan of that style but what can I do. The biscuits.. I tried to order just 1 biscuit.. But you can't. You have to get the order of 3. They were good. My friend had the Jackson breakfast special which is French toast, 2 eggs, sausage, smoked applewood bacon, a green salad and cornbread. They enjoyed the French toast, sausage, bacon and salad. But they weren't too crazy about the scrambled eggs.. We sat outside as it was perfect weather with the sun shining. Their outdoor seating area is very nice, comfortable and clean and we had a pleasant experience. I'll definitely be back sometime soon.
Sunday brunch party of 4. Convenient location, a lot of tables, great service. There will probably be a wait for brunch but the food was worth it! We shared mac and cheese and ordered for our mains: Farmer's Omelette, French Toast, Avocado & Burrata toast, side of biscuits and apple butter. We each enjoyed our food! I had the Omelette with a side salad. Great portion and I love the cornbread croutons. The mac and cheese also had a cornbread crumble. The biscuits were buttery and flaky and the apple butter was the perfect accompaniment. I didn't try the other dishes but the French toast looks AMAZING. my friend said it's his go-to order. read more
Jackson's Eatery is a cute restaurant, serving a variety of classic American dishes. I had their fried chicken with seasonal blueberry waffles. The blueberry flavor was lacking in the waffles, and I wish there were actual blueberries baked into them. The whipped cream side and maple syrup solved any issues I had with flavor / dryness and served as a good starch to eat when I needed a break from all the chicken. The chicken was crispy on the outside and perfectly done on the inside. They have a wide variety of menu items which made it hard to decide what to order. I was eyeing the Mac and cheese and would definitely consider getting that my next time around! read more
Jackson's is a nice little slice of down home hospitality in the middle of NYC hustle and bustle. Staff were accommodating and thoughtful. The decor is nice, it's got that predominantly wooded vibe going on. For the food, we had: Chicken & Pancakes Pancakes with a berry compote Home fries Bacon Eggs over easy All food was good, the chicken was nicely seasoned and crispy. Mimosas & such are always a vibe!! Did not disappoint. The price was good and fair, it matched the experience which is always my biggest thing! read more

Came here on a Saturday for brunch with friends. The place was packed. We had a reservation so we got seated quickly. The food is solid. I got the eggs Benedict which came on pancakes instead of English muffin slices. The sauce was a bit strong in terms of flavor, but I couldn't tell what it was. The eggs were poached well though. We also shared the French toast. It was delicious. Came with drizzle of Nutella and caramelized bananas. There was a bit too much syrup but delicious overall. Definitely recommend the French toast over the eggs Benedict. Overall, a solid brunch spot in LIC. read more

Came here for brunch today and I'd say this place is a pretty solid 4! I got the avocado egg toast with burrata. It was really yummy, but I personally thought the ratio was off (4 pieces of toast and 1 egg). I would've preferred it to be 2 pieces of toast and 1 egg. We also got the brisket mac and cheese. The flavors and sauteed onions were good! I will say service is a little slow, though they were pretty busy today. I'd love to try their chicken and waffles next time as it looked super good and seems to be one of their most popular items. read more
One of the great restaurants on LIC for brunch! I was there with a party of 5 and we were immediately seated for our reservation. It was a beautiful day outside so the ambiance and vibes were great; people were all having a good time. We ordered the pancakes, avocado toast, and eggs benedict; they were all pretty good. I went for happy hour with a friend and the specials were great with each food item being $7 (we ordered burger sliders, tacos & deviled eggs). We also each got a Moscow mule that was $10 each. There's a lot of space and you can have HH anywhere at the restaurant. It wasn't too busy when we arrived so we had a lot of options to choose from. The service was pretty quick as well. We enjoyed the sliders and deviled eggs but the tacos weren't authentic as we would have hoped. I would still return for the HH deals! read more
Winner, winner chicken dinner! Met some friends for brunch last weekend and they suggested this place. At first I thought it was because they could walk there from their apartment, but after a delicious meal, I realized they wanted to go there because it's very, very good. I started with a delicious drink, Bourbon for Brunch, and then decided to go with the Chicken and Pancakes as opposed to the more traditional chicken and waffles. My pancakes were great...fluffy with bits of bacon sprinkled on top. Really delicious. However, the chicken was the story here. The meal came about half of a small fried chicken and I picked those bones clean. Really amazing...I haven't had chicken that good in NY in as long as I can remember. I'm still dreaming about that chicken. The place is buzzing for brunch on the weekends so make a reservation if you don't want to wait for a table. Service was terrific as well. Had a really fulfilling brunch here . The place was really busy but we were seated right away. We started with a side of house biscuits . The texture was just right and not greasy at all . They are served with a homemade Apple butter with actual pieces of apple . Delish ! I had the buttermilk fried chicken with pumpkin waffles. The chicken had one of the most flavorful coating I've had on fried chicken in quite some time . It had a slight kick to it. So good ! The waffles were nice and tasty served with pumpkin cream cheese - very tasty. My dining partner tried the Southern Eggs Benny, mini sour cream Cajun pancakes topped with poached eggs . The beer selection is good , I tried a nice 5 Borough Pilsner. Great good , great service , great time ! I look forward to returning for more comfort food. read more

Great option for a local American fare brunch in the LIC area. Convenient located near the Vernon 7 train station this restaurant has tons of natural lighting as well as lots of seating options. Friendly staff here too. If come with family or friends! read more
Think i found my new favorite spot for brunch! We got there on a rainy Saturday afternoon and there was a bit of a wait. We loved the atmosphere and the substantial, but not overwhelming menu. Can't wait to go back and try the other options! Service was also really great! We got: - fried chicken & pumpkin waffles 9/10: the pumpkin waffles were delightful!! And the pumpkin-y butter paired so nicely. The fried chicken was mostly white meat so it wasn't my favorite - mommas mac n cheese 9/10: a nice serving of mac n cheese that comed hot & stays hot thanks to the skillet. Could have used more bacon in my opinion - peach collins cocktail 9/10: delightful! A nice brunch place in Long Island City LOCATION A+: Frankly, I only come here because of the location. I like to stroll by the nearby LIC waterfront and is a brisk walk from where I live. Otherwise, the food is mediocre. With that said, I've been here at least 5 times. The location and its ambience make for a peaceful morning. STAFF: They don't rush you to leave in general. Staff is attentive and friendly. It gives off a mom-and-pop store/family-run business vibe. FOOD/DRINKS: We usually do the Big Breakfast which has a little bit of everything but is on the heavier side. Chicken and waffles is a solid option but really nothing to rave about. My partner and I usually over order and we get things to go. A special touch is that they serve drip coffee in a light bulb shape container which is unique. RESERVATIONS: Recommended if you want a seat by the window but not needed if you come in earlier. May get busy later on. Always outdoor seatings. My only other thing with this place? If you get seated in one of the tables NOT by the window, there's no where else to place your bags but on your lap. which is sometimes annoying for me depending on what I carry. Good place to go out with friends for dinner. I wasn't impressed by the food but I may have ordered the wrong dish. The jambalaya is not good, do not order it. It tasted like unseasoned rice. However these dishes were worth ordering: Caesar Salad - Your traditional Caesar salad with sweet croutons, it was a nice surprise and help balance the flavor well. Mac and cheese - best item we ordered, also topped with the sweeten breadcrumbs it was tasty and different. The service was good, the staff was friendly. read more
Didn't need a reservation for two people on a Saturday morning, as there was plenty of open seating in the front outdoor area. Had two dogs with us and one of the employees brought out water and bacon pieces immediately (which is a nice touch). Wasn't up for drinking, though the cocktails did look nice. Opted for the Bacon & Broccoli Mac and Cheese ($17). Cornbread crumb topped dish and creamy "Mac" underneath (not macaroni). Bacon is mixed well into the dish, cutting the rich cheese. Broccoli soaks up the sauce too, cut up into small enough pieces to fit into a bite. Pasta is cooked just right and the crumbs are evenly distributed. Despite the price tag, the meal is dense - so worth it overall if hungry. Again, very good service despite the big brunch crowd. Dinner options also look appetizing if brunch isn't your thing. read more

Great place for weekend brunch with friends! Came here with friends for brunch with a reservation - food and drinks were both awesome! The prices were also very decent for the food quality and portions. I ordered southern eggs benny + BBQ pulled pork with the Jalapeño hollandaise sauce + a side of salad. I love how they provide so many options to choose from - you can choose to add Canadian bacon, spinach, smoked salmon, or BBQ pulled pork onto your eggs benedict. You can also choose the type of hollandaise sauce (with or without Jalapeño), and the side that you want - a side of home fries or Jackson's salad. My salad was fantastic, the veggies were fresh and the sauce was amazingly refreshing - also makes me feel healthy! The iced coffees we ordered were also great, we also asked for a side of almond milk to add to the coffee. We also saw a lot of people ordering the chicken and waffle - which looked amazing as well. I am looking to come try that out next time! read more

Wait : 10 min without rsvp for Saturday brunch Service : nice, friendly Ambiance: nice decoration but the table r pretty tight to each other Sanitation: there is no hand sanitizer on the table we sit. The bathroom is clean and no smell. Food : it is good but nothing is spectacular. Their decorating for food and drink stands out more than taste. We got chicken and waffles and eggs Benedict. I definitely enjoyed my brunch today! Food and drinks were on point. Let's get into the food shrimp and grits good portion size and flavorful. The pancakes were good also. My hubby had the big breakfast which also looked really good and he shared that it was also good. Service was good as soon as we sat down our drink order was taken and then our food order shortly after. This was a nice tucked away location ambience was welcoming. I would definitely recommend to others!!!! read more
Galentine's Brunch! When the weather is unseasonably warm and it's the Saturday before Valentine's what do you do?? Gather your girls and go brunching!! I took the chance and ventured off to Queens to try this place I had book marked for a while. First things first, parking sucks around here. So either take the train or uber it. After circling for about 40 mins I finally found a spot and headed in. My friend was waiting at the bar already and we decided to sit there Jacksons has a great Brunch menu and brunch drinks. I was pleasantly surprised. It was overpriced as other places and drinks were actually boozy. I had a mimosa and a bourbon Brunch drink. I ordered the jacksons platter for breakfast and it was great. Tasted good and you get your money's worth. My friend got the shrimp and grits and she wasn't that impressed with it. Her words were the hot sauce helped the dish tremendously. Staff was great and I would definitely recommend it if you are up for the commute. read more
Food: 4/5 Stopped by for late brunch. We ordered the omelette and the big breakfast. Both dishes were loaded with goods! My omelette was packed with peas and some zucchini. The big breakfast is exactly what it sounds like. I'm not a big fan of French toast but it was super soft and sweet!! Service: 5/5 Incredibly nice and attentive staff. Pretty solid and decent brunch spot in LIC! The ambiance is great for brunch with a lot of natural lighting coming in. For food, we got the Jackson's Big Breakfast. All the items were really delicious and goes well together. I really like the French toast since it was fluffy and tasty. We also got the buttermilk fried chicken and waffles. It was overall good. While a couple of the fried chicken pieces were juicy, others were rough and dry... Would have been nice if there was consistency across the pieces where they all turn out juicy. Curious to come back here to try the drinks next time. It was cool seeing the cool designs of some of them being served in a can and I definitely want to try them next time! read more
Very solid brunch place. Came in with a group of 4 for brunch on a Sunday and was able to be seated immediately. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Service was great. For food we got chicken and waffles, pulled pork, chicken sandwich and French toast. Everything was really solid. Sauces for the chicken and waffles were really good. Portions were quite large. Jackson's eatery has been on my list for a while. Finally decided to check this place out yesterday. My friend and I came here for dinner around 7, We were seated promptly and were able to place our order. You have to asked the waiter/waitress for the cocktail menu, it doesn't show up when you scan the QR code. I ended up getting the peach John Collins, which was delicious! We decided to start off with the chicken sliders, they were a bit oily but it was good. The chicken was fresh out of the fryer , had a great crunch and taste. For the entrees, I ended up getting the burger and my friend went with the brisket sandwich. The burger was good, had a nice sauce which came together pretty well. Popped in here for a quick brunch bite & received great service from our waiter Rick. Cool spot, loved the 70/80s music, spacious bathrooms, and tasty food. The pumpkin waffles and buttermilk chicken was filling & the berry compote pancakes were fluffy & tasty. Drinks were generously portioned and strong. Worth a visit if you're in town. read more
