Ever since my daughter was 3 years old, we have been trying to get her to chew with her mouth closed, not realizing she didn't have the adequate muscles to do it. Right from the first phone call with Ellen, I could tell she knew what she was doing, and she takes the time to talk and explain everything. You never feel rushed with her at all. My daughter's bite is perfect now, she can chew with her lips together, and her tongue won't push on her teeth anymore, so now that her braces are off her teeth will stay straight. We drove from Shrewsbury to Brookline for our appointments with Ellen, and I would only drive that far and deal with the rush hour traffic getting home because I thought the therapy my daughter got from Ellen Role was top notch. I do not think I could have found as good of a therapist closer to home. She is very patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend her.

My son was…read morediagnosed with an incorrect resting posture of the tongue, tongue thrusting during swallowing and speech, and with speech articulation errors. It was obvious right from the start that E.Role understands what she is doing. After a thorough evaluation of my son's tongue habits she assigned specific tongue exercises to change wrong habits. She checked the results periodically and adjusted the exercises immediately if the expected changes would not show. She would always discuss the exercises with me and my son together and make sure that we both understood how to do them correctly and their purpose. The therapy was a commitment for my son. But Ellen Role is not just an excellent therapist. She pairs her professional skills with a wonderful ability to motivate. She also has such a positive personality that we always left her office in good spirits. And I honestly can say I don't think there are many therapist out there who would have been able to keep my son committed over the period of time that was needed for him like she did. And last but not least: The therapy was a great success for my son and will stay with him for the rest of his life. His speech has improved a lot and his previous tongue and resting posture have been corrected. It was all worth it! We would absolutely recommend Ellen Role to anyone!

I hired Generations to assist me in finding an assisted living for my mother who lived out of town…read more They helped me in all aspects of this move; from identifying the right placement, to helping find doctors, including specialists to duplicate who she had in her own state, working with me to complete all the forms, including insurances, and even lending a hand preparing my mother's apartment for the actual move. They continue to be my eyes and ears in MA. I couldn't have asked for a smoother move and adjustment. When my mother was no longer able to live on her own in Florida due to cognitive decline from Alzheimers/dementia, Sue Lewin worked with me to find placement in a wonderful long term care facility specializing in memory care here in Massachusetts. Sue Lewin, her business partner Esther Rothkopf, and the rest of the Generations team did a wonderful job for my mother. As care managers, they partnered with me in advocacy, as well as providing great emotional support for both my mother and me during many difficult times (and believe me, in the beginning, tears were not unusual!). I could rely on them to attend (either with me or in my place) the quarterly Care Plan Meetings at the facility, keeping detailed records and asking many of the important questions regarding day-to-day care and medications that I didn't think to ask. Since I work full time, Sue and her team also made regular visits when I could not, and would send updates and observations regarding my mother's health and wellbeing. They also served as an invaluable liaison, with the ability during the day to approach nursing staff, the nurse practitioner, the social worker, etc... to ask questions or voice any concerns that I might have. In addition, they would purchase and bring over things that my mother might need when I could not. Whether days or evenings, weekdays or weekends, Sue and Esther were just a phone call, text or email away. My mother recently passed away at the end of November at the age of 88, and in her final 4 1/2 years she was able to maintain a much better quality of life, living closer to family in a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment, and for that I am deeply grateful to Generations: All About Elders.

Lisa has been my occupational therapist for hand issues resulting from a stroke. During my…read morerecovery, I suffered a bad fall and she redirected my therapy to include the orthopaedic issues: fracture and dislocation of my elbow (same side as the stroke damage). Lisa has been marvelous at addressing all the functional issues I have: * As a technical writer, my professional life centers around my ability to get concepts down via keyboard * As a devotee of couture sewing, my relaxation centers on my ability to hand sew * As a sailing enthusiast, I need strength in both hands (and arms and back) to do my part on board * As a wife, mother and homeowner, I need dexterity and strength to perform everyday functions (driving, cooking, styling my hair, using power equipment) Lisa has helped me meet these needs with temporary workarounds while we address the long-term solutions. I have already achieved a greater range of motion than my orthopaedic surgeon expected for me. My keyboarding skills have returned to their pre-stroke level. We are currently working on regaining strength in my arm/hand and I have utmost confidence that Lisa will help me succeed in this area, too. I know Lisa usually works with children, but I find her to be a skillful and empathetic clinician for the adult patient as well. I recommend Lisa without qualification to any adult or child who is faced with functional issues arising from stroke, fracture, and other medical conditions. She is an ethical and caring therapist who is knowledgeable and creative in her approach to her patient's total wellbeing. N.L. She first came for an evaluation to meet my daughter and see what we would like to focus on. Parents are included every step of the way! Our biggest priority is feeding because our little love eats like 4 things reliably. Everything else is hit or miss. Even in the virtual sessions (due to pandemic case spike) my daughter and me and my husband have gotten real strategies that help out of the sessions. For example, the virtual session this week, Wendy had us building a snowman with food and I was in awe as my daughter ate veggie straws for the first time. Oh! And I forgot the most convenient part! The therapist comes to you, in your own home. It's wonderful because my daughter is much more comfortable in her space and we can get right to work. My daughter looks forward to the sessions too. For her, it feels like play.

The turnover rate of therapists is low which means they are truly able to build relationships with our family. LTH goes above and beyond any other service provider we've worked with in terms of taking part in their communities. We love that we can see our therapists out and about at activities we go to.

I came to her feeling like a shell of myself, not knowing what to do. From the beginning of working with her, she immediately made me feel safe, heard, and at peace. At times, I felt like my issues were too much, too much for her to even take in, but that anxiety completely went away with her comfort and understanding. Through her healing using brain integration, I have not only been able to cope with the recent traumatic events in my life, but also navigate through major depression and helplessness. Additionally, her healing sessions have had positive physical effects on my body - I no longer suffer from acid reflux and stomach ulcers, which I have had for over 25 years. I am currently in menopause and my joint pain symptoms have improved, and my insomnia has decreased. There aren't words that can express how thankful I am for her healing and care.
