They don't have a lot of kids at the moment which has been a great advantage because my daughter is getting a lot of attention. Since she started she's babbling even more, she started standing and taking her first steps, clapping, holding her bottle and much more. I toured a lot of other places before enrolling her here. To me it was the best option based on price, distance, cleanliness and I knew my daughter would be safe and loved there. My interactions with the providers have always been very positive, there's great communication, they inform me what my daughter has done throughout the day at pick up or the next morning at drop off In a few words we're extremely happy with this daycare and my daughter is happy and well cared for.

Mrs Roohi, Mr. Sam, and their staff are warm and friendly - although he goes there 3 days a week he absolutely enjoys going there. But IBEAR truly makes an effort and works together to ensure a safe, respectful, learning environment. The facility also provides breakfast and lunch, which is helpful. There is even bus service! As for the teachers, my little one looks forward to seeing her teachers. She gets up every morning looking forward to school so I know she is having a good experience. (She is 3 and very vocal, she would have said otherwise). She is happy to share what she learned and talks about her friends and teachers. Watching her behavior I know that she is in the right environment. I did read a review that the place is dirty. I would like to address since I toured without an appointment. I literally had popped in one day to check out the Daycare before enrolling my daughter. The place was clean. In fact, it was much cleaner than other places I have seen. I've had to take a number of unexpected days off because of their inability to communicate in a timely matter or organize themselves. It's expensive, the teachers are severely underpaid, and the school runs on chaos daily. The turnover with admin staff and teachers is remarkable, and while I know that's the case for most daycares in the city, they can't seem to keep staff around. It's a shame because most of the teachers are wonderful. They deserve better. And as parents paying a premium for childcare, we deserve better too.

Her main teachers, Ms. Amy and Ms. Simmons, have treated her like part of the family and we really consider them part of our 'village'. We also love seeing them at drop off and pick up and they are always ready to give us the report of the day and share in our excitement for any milestones that she meets or new skills she uses. Our daughter is always so happy to see them in the morning. Everyone else who works there and who has taken care of her is also wonderful and we know that she's in good hands no matter who is helping out that day. We get updates throughout the day on what she's eating, when she naps, diaper changes and also cute photos showing us what she's been up to which has been so nice while she is so young. We are moving out of the area next month and the only thing that we are worried about is switching daycares since we can't imagine her with anyone else! If we could, we would keep her at TLE Astoria until she aged out into regular school.

The teachers are kind and caring and very quick to communicate throughout the day. During my recent maternity leave, I embarked on a plan to make life better for LIC parents by…read moretouring and reviewing all of the childcare centers in the neighborhood on Yelp. My maternity leave ended a couple months ago, and after writing this review I'm declaring success. Yes, new mamas, it is possible to write up to 10 paragraphs after having a baby, as long as you're realistic and give yourself several months to accomplish the task!! I toured Little Ones, both the original facility on 48th Avenue and the new-in-2013 Pre-K facility on 5th Street, during my maternity leave, and I was impressed. Both facilities are outstanding. I spoke with three teachers and the owner, Karen, over the course of my tour, and all impressed me as being accomplished educators and good communicators. Little Ones offers full-day care for children ages 2 to Pre-K. The original facility has 3 loosely-defined classroom areas and a gym, all with natural light. The whole space is open to the children during open play periods, so instead of a bunch of little classrooms each with a little blocks area (or art area etc.), each area is BIG and has a lot of space and materials. For circle time in the original facility, kids are split into 3 multi-age classes of 15 kids each, each with a head teacher and two assistant teachers. The new Pre-K space, serving a class of 24 kids with 3 teachers, is even cooler, since it has its own private outdoor space with a climbing area, and a two-storey / two-classroom building behind the outdoor space. At Little Ones, kids bring their lunch every day, and parents take care of snacks for the school one week a year. The cost is somewhat higher than other options at about $12/hour of care, and there's no Pre-K discount. Tuition is due far in advance on a "school year" basis, and refunds for unused time if you move are not guaranteed. Someone once warned me that Karen is wonderful with kids, but can sometimes come off as a little high-handed with adults: "it was like she was interviewing me, not the other way around." I do think that Karen is interested in the "fit" of families in her school. She asked me a few questions about my family and why we might be interested in Little Ones, which I thought was perfectly appropriate. My girls currently attend Lolly's/Brighter Babies and we've found our community there. That said, the parents I know who send their kids here are really happy. It is great to have this wonderful option in the neighborhood. Good luck finding the right school for your family!!

Have an arrogant / monopolistic attitude since they were the first/bigges provider in the area. Although now there is LIC Kids, Carolyn's Playhouse, and now Lolly's has just opened up as competition, it will take a while until this has an affect. Be a well informed parent/consumer and shop around and negotiate. Good Luck!.
