You got the sense that covid was very hard for this center, as it has been for all child care centers. The director William and Shannon really helped us feel comfortable sending our daughter there. After a couple weeks our daughter was running to get into the daycare. They would send us frequent updates including video and photos, so we knew what was going on throughout the day. I'd highly recommend this daycare because our kiddo loved it. The tuition is very steep and there are no outdoor spaces or access to the outdoors, so that is something to consider.

Bright horizons LIC is understaffed, under-trained, old dirty toys, not enough activities and resources, poor management, lack of space, no outdoor space, dirty rooms. My kid was sick all the time, they don't keep the place clean at all! I voiced my concerns to their regional manager, Christine Tarallo, several times and never got a response from her. I am so glad my child is no longer enrolled there There is a night and day difference between this place and my new daycare. My new daycare has plenty of staff , great toys, outdoor space, provides lunch, and costs less!! My child has been at new daycare for some time now, and hasn't gotten sick once!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELLHOLE CALLED BRIGHT HORIZONS OF LIC ! THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN BY THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT!!!

My 3 year old attended as a 3k student in which the love, warmth, and guidance he received from Ms. Michelle and Ms. Galilea was unparalleled. He was challenged with new letters, engaged in fun arts projects, and was frequently brought outside with his friends. My 6 month year old received above and beyond attention and care from Ms. Jo-ann, Ms. Ashley, Ms. Karina, and Ms. Esther. When he left they created a book to remember TLE by--and weeks later when we would say Ms. Esthers name he would smile and make noises! All the teachers knew both my boys personally and would communicate daily about their milestones. The admin team at the time of Ms. Erica and Mr. Richard were also phenomenal. They communicated effectively, and despite running a school with so many young people, knew my boys well! TLE felt like a home away from home. We had traveled to the daycare/3K site and only left to be closer to home and have less of a commute. If you are in the LIC area, I cannot recommend both the care and educational experience of the Learning Experience!

Parents, be warned-- The Learning Experience in Long Island City is NOT a safe environment for…read morechildren. My son was assaulted and punched in the face by another child in his 3-K class. This child has a known history of incidents in the classroom and has harassed other kids in the school. As written on the incident report, "Upon R---'s father dropping him off, another child stepped on R---'s shoes and hit him in the face without provocation." Despite this clear act of aggression, the school failed to take action to protect my child. The director covering at the time, Angelica, handled the situation in an unprofessional manner and I've seen her speak to other parents unprofessionally in the past as well. When I expressed my concerns, the school admitted they could not promise the child would stop hitting my son and had no solution to prevent further harm. Instead of taking responsibility, they made it clear that they had no control over student safety. To make matters worse, one of their regional managers, Jennifer, called me that evening and was completely unapologetic. She condescendingly stated, "I spent 15 minutes telling you there's nothing we could do to stop this." Her dismissive attitude and lack of concern for my child's well-being were shocking. On the very same day, another preventable incident occurred. My son scraped his back due to inadequate supervision from Ms. Michelle and Ms. Galilea. The incident report states, "R--- was trying to sit down, and the chair was far back, and he fell and scraped his back." The school provided no real explanation or assurance that they would prevent similar accidents in the future. Days earlier, my son came home with a scratch on his face which Ms. Michelle stated happened after nap time and she admitted she had no idea how it happened. How can a teacher be unaware of an injury that occurred under her supervision? This level of negligence, lack of accountability, and disregard for student safety is completely unacceptable. If you are a parent considering this school, I urge you to think twice. Their inability to provide a safe learning environment puts all children at risk. If an incident occurs, do not expect professionalism, responsibility, or real solutions--only excuses and dismissiveness. No child deserves to experience this and no parent should have to deal with these issues to ensure their child is safe at school.

Ilana's leadership, the excellent teachers, and the sense of camaraderie throughout the school created a happy, fun place for our kids to grow and learn. There is a very pleasant balance of structured, unstructured, outdoor, and rest time each day. Over 5 years, I've seen Ilana gracefully handle many tricky situations and I think she and the teachers generally do it just right. Lolly's has four classrooms, a 2's room, a little 3's, an older 3's, and a Universal Pre-K classroom, as well as a gym. The kids regularly visit neighborhood play areas when it's warm, and healthy lunches are provided. Lolly's seems to have somewhat more flexibility around day length and number of days than other schools in the area. Lolly's runs 12 four-week months during the year, and takes four week-long breaks, usually spring break, 4th of July, last week in August, and around the holidays. It's good to schedule vacations and grandparent visits around these times. Like many schools, Lolly's is a lot easier to get into in June and September (since that's generally when the UPK students leave and all the littler kids move up). Otherwise, get on Ilana's radar early, and try to be patient. We are very grateful for the wonderful experience our kids had at this school. Good luck finding the right school for your little ones.

I can tell my daughter is happy and loved, I see this with her interactions at drop off. They don't have a lot of kids at the moment which has been a great advantage because my daughter is getting a lot of attention. Since she started she's babbling even more, she started standing and taking her first steps, clapping, holding her bottle and much more. I toured a lot of other places before enrolling her here. To me it was the best option based on price, distance, cleanliness and I knew my daughter would be safe and loved there. My interactions with the providers have always been very positive, there's great communication, they inform me what my daughter has done throughout the day at pick up or the next morning at drop off In a few words we're extremely happy with this daycare and my daughter is happy and well cared for.
