In the winter, I updated my boring bra collection with the most beautiful, perfect pieces from Azaleas (a five star experience that I previously reviewed). This summer, I got a whole new bathing suit wardrobe - picked up nearly every Hunza G style they had in stock, a couple vitamina bikinis, and that amazing Haight red one piece. I love the selection and they made shopping convenient throughout the last few months. Free shipping and then I utilized the in-store pick ups from the coffee shop next door. Now that the shop reopened, I purchased even more bathing suits (whoops!) and Carly could not have been more patient with me as I tried on approximately 100 different suits (thank you!). A wide range of styles and price points but I also trust Cindy to pick really high quality, well-made pieces which makes it easier to justify paying more for the quality. The customer service I have received here is unparalleled and I feel so grateful to have Azaleas as a neighbor in the East Village. One quick warning: the shop may look small but you can spend a lot of time inside!

Jordan was patient and thorough and careful and kind. She made sure I was comfortable, sized me correctly, and gave me a ton of options to try on. They were all beautiful. I can't know what they were thinking, but that's genuinely how their behavior came across to me. I left feeling embarrassed, unwelcome, and unlikely to return. I hope the staff can be more mindful of how they greet and treat customers so everyone feels respected, regardless of how they look when they walk through the door. When I did leave they were very nice. But that might only be because they saw I could actually afford something.

I went upstairs and was greeted by a young woman on a phone and perused the various goods. I went with Doce de leite (dulce de leche) as well as some bananad cremosa. They also have cashew nut juice which you can't find in most other stores which I partook in. The prices were high but it's quite hard to find these things in NYC and their selection was excellent. She apologized for being on the phone while I was bringing the things over and asked what I was trying to find afterwards which was nice. This is a local business and I'll be back to support it again.
