I am afraid to put a review here because this has to be my favorite clothing store. I am so…read moresurprised it has not been reviewed by NY Magazine, the NY Times, Citysearch, DailyCandy, and by yelpers yet. However, I want the store to be successful so please check it out and tell Rita (the owner and sweetest person) that Michelle sent you. I go here to buy sexy summer and evening dresses and Brazilian bikinis. They have the most beautiful, original designs straight from Rio. I promise you you won't see anyone else wearing what you purchase there. Everything is carefully selected that is being sold and she has quality not quantity. One Brazilian designer they carry here is Morena Rosa. Beautiful fabrics and cuts. I definitely recommend buying bikinis from here. I bought 3 of the same design but in different colors for when I went on vacation to Aruba. [Small beauty tip for those who don't want to look like a zebra with tan lines;)] This boutique looks like it belongs on West Broadway or on Mott Street not on Steinway Street in Astoria. Very chic, modern and clean design, and colorful.

Luckily I found this place not too far from where I work at! As soon as I walked in the store a very nice lady gave me a smile and said hello to me. I asked her if she was the owner but she said no. She was nice lady, gave me a recommendation. There was nice clothes at that store so will come by next time for sure to look at clothes. Since summer is over. I got my swimsuit for 55 dollar. Got 50% from $110. Love this place! See you next time!

In the past bra fittings have felt like being poked, prodded, and measured, but Dakota used her keen eye to help me find my perfect size within minutes. I really appreciated her patience as I tried on dozens of bras and her attentiveness to every little question or adjustment I needed. She also helped me find the perfect styles for my body (something I'd never even considered), expertly explaining all the jargon in an easily understandable way. She also wrote me a card to take home with my size & best styles - a detail that I really appreciated. I felt no pressure at all to tip, but even 15 minutes into the fitting, I felt compelled to due to the excellent level of care I was receiving. Furthermore, the shop was filled with a range of pieces - from basic nudes to vibrant colors. I would recommend the Rack Shack to anyone who is looking for a bra/underwear/lingerie. I will certainly be back!!

While the selection still seems great and most of the associates seemed friendly, the associate I ended up with did not seem interested in talking with me. We spoke briefly but in the end I didn't feel there was space to ask in depth about what I was looking for and I ended up leaving without buying anything. Still 3 stars because I do love this store and plan to give it another chance next time. I ended up going to the Manhattan location and had an excellent experience there.

I've heard many ppl waste money ordering too many bc as any undergarment : refunds or returns are mostly not options. Don't waste your money. Go to a shop that specializes in Fajas. There's hundreds of Fajas here. In all sizes and styles and brands. It seems all are authentic Columbian made brands. The best is your sales lady will pick the right one for you and teach you how to put it on. Trust me if you're new at this : it's not an easy feat. Putting on a faja is no joke. My sales lady was super nice and patient. And she didn't try sell me anything more than one. I will go back for my next stage faja but I see they do alterations so I'll just keep the one I have and have it altered when the times comes. But the bathing suit I tried on had a security tag with an exposed metal wire that attacked my arm. And then also an exposed / open safety pin that thankfully I avoided. Again, the girls were really nice (provided a wet paper towel and neosporin - no bandaids though) and apologetic but good service is not worth a potentially permanent 5in+ long scar.

In the winter, I updated my boring bra collection with the most beautiful, perfect pieces from Azaleas (a five star experience that I previously reviewed). This summer, I got a whole new bathing suit wardrobe - picked up nearly every Hunza G style they had in stock, a couple vitamina bikinis, and that amazing Haight red one piece. I love the selection and they made shopping convenient throughout the last few months. Free shipping and then I utilized the in-store pick ups from the coffee shop next door. Now that the shop reopened, I purchased even more bathing suits (whoops!) and Carly could not have been more patient with me as I tried on approximately 100 different suits (thank you!). A wide range of styles and price points but I also trust Cindy to pick really high quality, well-made pieces which makes it easier to justify paying more for the quality. The customer service I have received here is unparalleled and I feel so grateful to have Azaleas as a neighbor in the East Village. One quick warning: the shop may look small but you can spend a lot of time inside!

Long read but MUST READ ALL…read more This is by far the most unprofessional business I've ever encountered. We ended up walking out with two dresses, but we deeply regret our decision. We spent almost $2,000 on dresses that we won't even be able to wear for our event next week. About three months ago, my mom found a dress priced just over $1,000. I later found the same dress online for a lower price, and the store owner agreed to refund us the difference. When I returned to collect the difference, he told me he would give it to me next time. When we returned, my mom tried on her dress and loved it, but it needed some adjustments to fit her height and body type. The owner then suggested I try on a new dress, which I did. He told me it was $950, but when I looked at the tag, it was only $650. I confronted him about the price discrepancy, and he agreed to sell it to me for that price. He also told me the dress was made in Lebanon, although Portia and Scarlett dresses are made in Australia. I liked the dress but wanted to keep my options open since it was strapless. The owner repeatedly pressured me, asking why I didn't like it, insisting that it was beautiful. I told him I was hesitant because I wanted more coverage on top. He then claimed his "professional tailor" could add straps and hem the dress. Although I was still unsure, we moved on to my mom, who was being fitted for alterations. On our way out, the owner was extremely pushy about me paying in full and ordering the dress that day. I explained that I wanted to keep my options open and would call if I didn't find anything else. He insisted that wasn't an option and told me I was difficult to work with and indecisive. Eventually, I agreed to buy the dress, even though I wasn't entirely comfortable. Weeks went by, and when we followed up on the dress, the owner said it was still in Lebanon, although we later learned it was shipped from Germany. When I tried on the dress, I wasn't happy with how it looked on me. The owner began criticizing me, calling me difficult and saying I wouldn't like anything. He also told me that if I took the dress, he wouldn't tailor it for me. His behavior was incredibly rude. My mom tried on her dress, which we were supposed to take home that day, but it was falling apart. I pointed out the issues with the dress, and he responded dismissively with a rude "ok, ok, ok." Eventually, I took my dress, and my mom had to leave hers behind for further repairs. I took my dress to a local tailor, who informed me that it couldn't be altered to add straps. This contradicted what the store owner had told me, suggesting he only wanted to make a quick sale. The bottom line is: Do not waste your time here!

Tonight l had another great experience at Paragon thanks to the sensitivity and good nature of Mike R in the upstairs shoe and boot department. As a rule, my 88-year old husband doesn't like to buy himself new clothes. But after what feels like weeks in this polar vortex, with him stubbornly trudging and slipping through the snow in old rubber rain boots and a cane, l stopped hinting and put my foot down: we were going to buy him some warm, waterproof boots with cleats. Knowing that he might only put up with one outing, I decided to scout Paragon on my own, first. Mike R. advised me he had only one style of boot that fit what l was looking for and not many sizes left. When he came back with a size in the ballpark, l asked if he could hold it for me. Mike was blunt: he couldn't do any 24-hour holds with the stock so low, but he could hold it for two hours. I thanked him, explaining that if l bought these and presented them to my husband as a done deal he would never even try them on. But we'd be back, within the hour. When we arrived on the floor, Mike picked right up on the dynamic: this was not a customer for a hard sell. And so Mike was the soul of discretion. He kept a low profile, talking quietly and only to me and showed up just often enough to be helpful. He was patient, kind and l got the feeling he was enjoying the challenge of selling without ever even connecting with the guy trying on the boots. And Mike's strategy worked! We made the transition from my husband's original reaction to the only boots in his size ("l hate them!") to walking out with four pairs of socks and that same pair of warm, waterproof boots with cleats. I am deeply grateful to and frankly in awe of Mike R, Paragon boots department. Thank you!
