Lately we haven't been very happy with Jack's Urban Eats....HOWEVER, tonight everything was so good !!! We ordered to go (per our usual) all of our order was correct, the Urban Fries were the best they have been in a very long time. Both of our salads were perfect. This place is great. Fast, fresh food at an affordable price. I always order their BBQ tri-tip sandwich or Philly Cheesesteak. A LOT of people order their salads, but I'm not too big of a fan. I love a good salad, but it just doesn't do it here for me. It's not on their menu, but they do have a wheat bread option. I love whole grains, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Urban fries or garlic fries - can't go wrong. Their urban fries have blue cheese and chili oil - how could this not blow up into the next best thing here in the good ol' US of A?! Jack's is not as good as they used to be. The corkscrew mac n' cheese I have loved for a decade is now watered down. I never add salt to my food but I have to pour the salt and pepper to give it any flavor. I tried the seasonal salmon bowl yesterday. Super boring. I pretty much tossed $13+ in food right there. The college-age hipster staff here is just like every other Jack's. I used to get so excited to come here but I'm just bored now. Sorry Jack, it was nice knowing you. read more

We stopped by here on the way home from South Tahoe. The ordering here is a little funky. Stand in line and then order from the same person making your salad. Line passes by food prep and then to the cashier who takes your drink order. You then need to hunt down a place to sit before your food arrives. The Tri-tip sandwich was good as were the Urban Fries. A little pricey for what you get. All in all, glad we tried it. If we are ever in the area we'll give them a shot again. read more

Love Jack's! We hit the Folsom restaurant mostly, but midtown is always top of the list when we're in the area. It's good, fresh and fast. The Santa Fe Chicken Salad is a favorite when I want a "not-so-heavy" lunch...the tequila-lime dressing is very tasty. Great lunchtime spot, but also when a quick dinner is in order. I purchased a western bbq steak salad, chicken pesto salad, and chicken strips w/fries for the kids. This morning, everyone threw up or had diarrhea from the food we ate. Sorry for the graphics, but customers need to know..and so does the restaurant so no one else gets sick, right? I called the restaurant today but my multiple calls weren't answered. Well, I'm not going to chase down a restaurant that never picks up their phone calls plus I have a sick family to take care of thanks to Jacks. On my way to report this to the health authorities. Fresh Salads and Yummy Meat Cuts Jacks gets 4 stars for GREAT, FRESH, CRISP, and DELICIOUS salads. I know I know, you can get salads at plutos, at a restaurant, etc. You can customize your salads or order one on the menu. I like the salmon one, it's tasty, and not too fattening. Most days I like to make my own salads by telling the salad tosser what to put in the salads. Jack's also serves up some yummy sandwiches with fairly tender and juicy meat. Pretty tasty stuff. The place can get crowded at lunch time so be prepared to wait. The garlic fries are good. Also, you can get Thomas Kemper? (excuse the name if I get it wrong) rootbeers and cream sodas. Very tasty. Parking is fairly easy even on a busy day. They also have some wines and beer to help you wind down on a busy weeknight. Also it can get very noisy inside so it's not a good idea to bring your dates here for conversations and getting to know each other. If you sit outside then it's not a big problem. read more

I love all Jack's Urban Eats locations! Chinese chicken salad: 4 stars. Good dressing and I like the jicama. Sante fe chicken salad: 4 stars. Dressing is again really good. Classic tri tip: 5 stars! Carmelized onions, tender tri tip and honey mustard on that sweet little bun! PERFECT combo! Garlic fries: 5 stars. Get em! Stinky breath is worth it. Mac and cheese: 5 stars. It's not especially cheesy or anything but is so creamy and buttery and just hits the spot for me. Add fresh cracked black pepper! Sidenote: It's a bit pricey for such small portions but well worth it. read more

I am a sucker for salads, and this place tops my list. Cafeteria style sandwich/salad place, there are a few scattered among the greater Sacramento region. The salads are great, the sandwiches are great, the fried food (french fries/onion rings) are great, the sides (vegetables/mac'n'cheese/potatoes) are great. It's quick, semi-cheap food, and easily customizable by the patron. The half-salads are HUGE, I can't imagine how anyone can eat a full. The staff always seems busy, but they also always seem to be enjoying themselves.. well, as much as you can be slinging salads. The open atmosphere attracts families with noisy children. That's my biggest complaint, is that the noise travels, and I'm tired of hearing every little brats temper tantrum. But, on the other side, if I had a brat of my own, I'd bring it here, because its noisy enough that a temper tantrum won't be wildly out of place. read more

Jack's is a great local chain restaurant. It's our go-to casual dining option for meeting friends or bringing the whole family. There are indoor/outdoor seating options. This location was remodeled around 2018. Around that time, they changed over to an electronic ordering system where a person at the counter taps your order into a tablet. Checkout has been faster after this change and I usually go during the busy lunch hour. The menu includes Fresh salads, carved meats, and rustic sides. The Urban Fries are a local favorite. They have fountain sodas, beer, wine, and also make some innovative lemonade juice blends. read more

Great news in Folsom, Jacks Urban eats now allows dogs inside the restaurant. We are here now watching about 8 employees poor over a white dog that a gentleman is holding in his arms as he goes through the food line. I'm a big dog fan but I do not want this dogs fleas or whatever jumping into my dinner as it's being prepared, so I asked an employee if that was ok or should the dog be outside, the answer was "no, it shouldn't be inside but it's really cute. I had waited a while for my order then ended up having to go right back in because there was a mix up with my order. They fixed the problem and refunded me for most of the meal which was kind of big. Very delicious lunch place. We were trying to have a lunch date but remain on our low carb diet at the same time. This place worked out rather nicely. The salads were huge and pretty delicious. I got the Thai Salmon salad- the salmon was perfectly cooked and tasted wild, yum! I loved the sesame dressing. My fiance ordered the chinese chicken salad, which I sampled and it was delicious. It was very busy. The line was long when we got there but it moved rather quickly. I could smell those garlicky fries- I was salivating. We'll have to come back when we're not doing the low carb thing. The place looked "trendy" and very California but it was very low key. I enjoyed paying for my food then being left alone. Don't come here for conversation though, it's too loud unless you snag a seat outside. read more

I'm relatively new to the Folsom area so a friend of mine and myself were cruising around and we came upon Jack's Urban Eats. I remember visiting the Loehmann's Plaza location in Sacramento a few years ago and haven't had a chance to try it since. The place is amazing, great burgers (I had the Hawaiian Chicken), huge salads, and plenty of drinks to choose from. My friend ordered garlic fries since she's a big fan of them and it was VERY strong. But it was good in small portions. The one thing I was disappointed with was that they didn't have any club sodas when I visited and that they will not serve them again (I miss my orange cream soda) The place is a little overpriced but the food is worth it, I definitely recommend visiting any Jack's Urban Eats at least once in your life. read more

Being in Folsom for business wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. There are a few decent food places, I found out. This place, Jack's Urban Eats, was a pretty darn good place to eat. Definitely somewhere I would frequent if I lived closer. I got a Jack's Classic Chargrilled Tri-Tip Sandwich with Mayo and Lettuce. It was really good, hit the spot for sure. The meat was nice and tender and the bread was just the right softness. Plus, the meat wasn't so tough that it pulled straight out of the sandwich. I hate when that happens.. I ate the entire sandwich, which for me is quite a feat, and it wasn't just a small sandwich either. It was decent sized. My co-workers got the mac & cheese and man, it looked delicious. If only I hadn't had to order the fries, I would have gotten the mac & cheese as well. The fries were called something like Urban Fries. They had blue cheese and chili oil on them. Usually, I don't like spicy things of any sort, but it kind of evened out with the blue cheese and wasn't too bad. The night before, my friend Jon told me I had to try them, and they were indeed very delicious. I think if I hadn't stuffed myself with that yummy sandwich, I would have eaten more. Plus, if I liked spicy things more I definitely would have eaten more of them because there were a few bites that had a pretty good kick to them, but it wasn't so bad I had to stop eating them :) I wish they had this place closer to me, it had a fun vibe and pretty decent food. (I'm loving that area, it's close to home and I can find everything I need all in one place!) I got the first cuts of the turkey just brought out! Woo hoo! You just can't beat that for freshness and taste. I had the classic turkey with everything. Doesn't matter what you order, it's going to be delicious. Right down to the fries. I warn you, though. You may get a food coma. I wish Folsom had a Plutos because I much prefer it to Jack's. They seem a little overpriced here and while it always seems to be busy at lunch, it's nothing spectacular. My salad was pretty decent, but their selection of toppings isn't great. My husband got a tri-tip sandwich but it was basically just a roll with some meat slammed on. It also wasn't cut very well so he ended up getting big mouthfuls of meat and wasn't really able to enjoy it. I'll come here for a healthy salad, but that's about it. I must admit their fries and macaroni and cheese look pretty darn good though. read more

I ordered the half custom salad ($6.50) with mixed greens, tri tip (steak), sweet corn, pickled onions, marinated mushrooms, beets, candied walnuts, red bell peppers, and gorgonzola vinaigrette. If this was the half order, I'm afraid to see what the full order is. This was huge. I ate maybe half and all the steak and brought the rest home for my sister-in-law to eat. Also ordered the garlic fries, and do regret not getting the Urban Fries with the blue cheese sauce and hot chili oil. The garlic fries WERE good, but not nearly as interesting as the other looked. Will get that next time. We went around 4pm and there were only a couple of booths taken, though a few more were still dirty with plates, silverware, etc. But we were able to find a booth with no problem. All the tables were open. The wait to get food was nil, no one in front of us. It was kind of weird not knowing what to do when you walk in. There is no menu up top, you have to grab the paper menus and just order down the line like a cafeteria. They write it down on a slip of paper and give it to you to hand to the cashier at the end. P.S. If you order iced tea, it will not be regular iced tea. The one I got was out of a pitcher, like they made it, but it was mango flavored and they neglected to tell me when I ordered just plain "iced tea". This should be something that is cleared up prior to paying, because I would have just had water had I know it was flavored. I met a friend for lunch at Jack's on 8/23/17 because it was centrally located. They seemed to be pretty busy, which we thought was a good sign. As we went through the line, they put our side items on the plate. When we got to the end, the entree's weren't ready so the plates were set aside. They told us they were going to bring our plates out to our table when the entree's were ready. 10 minutes later, our food arrived. Of course, the sides were cold-yuck!! Neither of us felt like making an issue as we were famished, but they need to get a better system. I would not go back because who wants to eat cold food? read more

I love Jack's! I always get the BBQ tri tip sandwich (with no mayo) and it is the best I've had. Comes with onion rings, lovely sauce, cheese, fresh tomato and lettuce on a toasty bun. I went here with some of my girlfriends for a weekend lunch. I had been to the Loehmann's Plaza location and was not impressed with the quality and atmosphere. Yet, they wanted to eat here as one of my friend, loves the size of the salads. I had the Chinese Chicken Salad which had a large quantity of lettuce but not so much meat. The veggies were fresh and crisp, though. They had the mac and cheese along with the oven roasted turkey and the steak salad. My friend who had the steak salad ate it all, she was going to save some for her husband, but he lost out, I guess. We sat outside as it was nice day. We were not rushed to move nor did we have service beyond getting our food. It is an upgraded diner experience which has fresh food but is a bit over priced for the type of food they serve, in my humble opinion. read more

This place used to be good. Not anymore :-( First of all they were taking their sweet time serving people, and there weren't even that many people when I was there! As for the food, the sprouts I got in my salad tasted fermented and they really skimped on the chickpeas but loaded me up with shredded carrots.
