If the cat isn't entertainment enough while you wait, don't go here. However, if you want your car fixed at a reasonable cost, Jack's is the place. I've been a regular customer for a number of years and am quite pleased with the service. I am an older woman who drives a car and needs to trust the mechanic. I have never been disappointed here. I have recommended them to friends and they were happy with the service. Now, if a customer is not satisfied, he/she got up on the wrong side of the bed, is impatient, did not provide sufficient information or another issue was discovered during the initial repair. That last one cost me a tad but could have been a major expense if not fixed. Tim and I are of the same generation. He has maintained a fine business reputation. Jack's does quality work and has a no-fault clause if an error occurs due to something they've done. They have reasonable prices and skilled mechanics. A couple of the current techs they have in particular are very easy to work with and talk to about your vehicle. My only real complaint is the parking situation and back lot. read more

I used to go here a lot and I've spent thousands of dollars on my used cars getting repairs, but since the owner retired, it seems like it's gone downhill recently took my car in because the AC was not working. They put Freon in, told me to come pick it up that it was working, but it was not working. had to drive it back so they could recheck it. Next They told me it was the condenser was fine. Had them replace it but they didn't even apologize for the extra trip I had to make ti bring back a car that wasn't working that I paid them $200. Shouldn't the mechanic really take the car around the block to see that it's not blowing cold air and make a call at that time that a condenser maybe needed since it wasn't holding the Freon ?? So next, I paid them another 500 for the condenser work, which seemed to do the trick. It was blowing cold on the way home. I'll be keeping a close eye out on it because I've definitely lost trust in their abilities and the fact that they can't apologize to a customer when they're wrong I asked the lady at the front desk to give me a call so I could talk to him personally but I never got that call so that's why I'm posting it here, just be careful if you go to them they used to work but not so much anymore. read more

Got a alignment for 100$ not too bad of a price but Dennis is definitely not a people person. When calling to schedule an appointment I was confused on the day I was asking for. Sound stupid but I work overnight so I always have to translate my schedule to everyone else's. After that but of confusion we got it set. I came in and the owner told Dennis I had arrived. He acknowledged the owner at the counter and the owner told me Dennis would be right with me. I sat there for 20 min. Granted the owner just had a death in his family and was talking to a customer on the phone about their car and that. I can't blame him for that. But Dennis seriously can you at least come get my keys so I don't have to sit in your crap chairs on uneven ground... came back to pick up my car Dennis was working on another car already. I Hollered "thanks Dennis" because I thought he was having a bad day and wanted to be nice. There is no way he didn't hear me and just IGNORED ME. Like BRO do you hate your life that much to just not give a shit about anyone. Kinda sad I hope he finds some happiness because after reading other reviews seems like one of the only negative things about many's experience is Dennis. I took my vehicle there after getting a quote for $200 to replace wheel bearing in my Kia. I received a phone call and was told it would be $500 plus tax to fix (approx $550). I told Dennis don't do the work and put it back together. I was still charged $80. I will not go back. read more

So this place is a complicated one to rate, but I'll give it a shot: I've used them on multiple occasions over the years after moving to Belton and found the man who works on my car "Jason" to be helpful and knowledgeable. Easily the best attribute of this shop is the pricing is always more competitive than the same jobs I've quoted at any of the national shops located in town for repairs such as brakes and alignments. On a few occasions they've even attempted to find the causes of problems in my cars, test drove them, and not charged me anything. Those are the positives. The negatives is that this isn't the most warm and friendly group. Interpersonal skills seem to be a perpetual struggle for all but one auto-repair person I've interacted with in my 22 years of driving, so "caring" isn't a quality I expect when I walk into any mechanic's shop. That being said, I won't make apologies for the group, as certainly at times (both in person and the phone) the men working can come across as busy and borderline perturbed and it would certainly be more pleasant if that weren't the case, but behind the gruff exteriors I still say "thank you" and walk away confident that the money I spent was fair and "Jason" does know what he's doing. For me, those two things are all that really matters, as I'd take that over someone smiling and pretending to care while at the same time inflating prices and/or gouging for repairs not needed - which occurred to me multiple times before I came here. Last note that doesn't affect my rating is that when I asked, this shop doesn't log the work done in any national database so if you want a detailed maintenance record for reselling your vehicle you'll need to stick with a Midas or some national chain (be sure to ask though to make sure they haven't changed anything) - but if you're ok without that, I'd recommend giving them a shot as I'm always content - just don't expect a smile. read more

I came in without an appointment because I had missed an appointment for a car inspection in lees summit earlier that morning because I had to take my grandmother to the emergency room. Once they got my grandma admitted and settled, I ran out to get a bite to eat and try to find some place to get a car inspection. Jacks was the first place I went and after explaining my situation, they got my car right in for an inspection. Everyone was so pleasant and kind. My daughter took her Ford explorer there and they changed the intake manifold and did some rear end work 2 days after she picked it up it blew a plug and and cracked the coil pack now it's leaking rear differential fluid she has had to take it back 3 times now and pay extra money because it blew a plug this place is a freaking joke do not waste your money you will be very disappointed read more

I had a great experience at Jack's. I had an estimate of $1,500 and 3 to 4 days from a well-known national chain shop in Raymore area. Jack's did only the work that was needed for less than $300. They got me going in a few hours and my car is still running great! The owner was super nice to me. Yeah, the mechanics maybe don't have the best social skills and I'm totally fine with that. They are great at what they do, which is fix my car and get me back on the road. My husband had a similar great experience as well. They only fixed what was wrong, quickly and for a very reasonable price. This shop will not up-sale you or take advantage of people like me who don't know anything about cars. read more

none helpful. I should have know better when my car was repaired. picked up. stranded 45 minutes later up north. I had to pay my own tow because the facility closes at 5pm and not open on the weekend. I told the owner about the repair- he didn't even bother to offer to pay for the tow. Then they attempted again to repair my car for the first mistake that went wrong. -I picked it up a week later. This time an hour later I was stranded on the highway. - I was so furious. I was almost in a car wreck due to driving 65miles an hour and then the car literally froze. -Car was towed again. FAcility wasn't opened again. The owner swore he was going to look at review the car personally since the first event, even test drive the car this time so that no mistakes and clearly didn't. So when I went to pick up my car the last time- this time they said that the valves were bent and the car was not going to be able to be fixed unless I invested more money. Personally they are con artist. I even reviewed a lawyer for support and the lawyer says I have a case however at the end the lawyer said it wouldn't be worth the effort because I'd pay more to the courts than to get the car fixed. Then after finally so disappointed and irritated of my loss of money ($1,790) and now two times towed (140 and 200) - The owner is just old school- I should have known when my work order for my car was being written into a notebook - I should have not even bothered with the company let alone they never call you when the car is finished or if they have questions- I had to call them. I give them horrible ratings for service to customers, a lack of car, a bubble gum repair shop that even their lot is dirty and I'm sure a hazwaste fine needing to be reviewed. Just overall poor quality. Even my family after this car incident- we're resident for over 15years in belton- horrible service and I would call channel 4 news to see what other scams they pull or victims. read more

I have never been disappointed in the numerous times I have been there for regular maintenance and occasional repairs. The guys I have worked with are professional, skilled and provide great customer service at a reasonable price. They have had opportunities to take advantage of me, but have not. Not sure how this place stays in business?... I took a vehicle in to get fixed and it took almost 3 weeks for a 2 day job, and the problem didn't completely go away. They have never overcharged me and while it is not the fanciest place, who cares? I recently took a new vehicle to a dealership for factory recall service and they had it for a week. Asked for front brake pads. I come from many generations of certified auto mechanics, so I have a pretty good idea what repairs I need made. I got front shoes, rotors turned and "cleaning" done to my back brakes. I didn't argue...just paid the outrageous bill. I didn't want to take chances on bad brakes. Gradually my car started shaking. Took me two months of juggling schedules to get a time they could fit me in.I was told rudely that rotors jsutwarp amand was accused or riding my brakes. This is a 12-year-old import. I have owned several...never needed rotirs turned. Never hadmy rotorswarp oory car shake like it was coming apart. So I am ending up paying for more rotors and brake pads. I will talk to the manager Monday about a refund. I will never come back. They are unprofessional and treat customers like we are all idiots. I witnessed one mechanic peel out of the garage in somebody's truck. One man waited so long to speak to management that he finally left when no one would acknowledge his presence.
