Love this place! We went for a friends birthday at 5 pm. We were able to make a reservation even at Happy Hour! $8 huge pour NZ sav.blanc. Yum. Then $14 for a very large portion delicious eggplant Parmesan. They even brought my friend a dessert for her birthday. I'll be back. It's the only place I've seen green lipped mussels on the menu besides New Zealand.

Server was great. It was a great choice for our Easter dinner this year. Highly recommended. Even is pet friendly.

We had such a wonderful flavorful dinner at Jack's sat right in front of the window on a gorgeous day. I had the rainbow trout with croquettes very fresh The service is magnificent ... This is a restaurant I can see myself coming back to again and again lots of street parking also parking on the side

We went with a friend's family for mother's Day, and there was a special mother's Day menu, so I don't know if any of these items are available on the regular menu. The restaurant decor was very nice, though or table for 6 was pretty cramped. The service was very good and the manager/owner (I don't know, but the guy seemed to act like an owner) personally came over and was very accommodating to special requests. The food overall was ok, but not great. I had the cioppino which had a generous amount of fish and clams, but the broth lacked flavor and the fish was definitely overcooked. My son had the seafood pasta and he had the same impression. My wife had the lobster ravioli and said it was bland. (But, in my opinion, lobster ravioli is just a bad idea -- lobster has a great but subtle flavor. Unless you dump a ton of sauce on it, stuffing it into pasta is going end with something bland.) My son's friend had the osso buco and he said it was very good. The shrimp scampi was also overcooked. Again, the service was very good. I would rate the food at 3 stars but I'll bump up to 4 because of the great service.

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday at Jack's Restaurant, and I couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. From the very beginning, coordinating with Jack was incredibly simple and stress-free. He provided sample menus that fit perfectly within my price range, which made planning effortless. Our guests absolutely loved their meals -- the portion sizes were generous, and everything was delicious. The service truly stood out. Our server was attentive from the moment we arrived and continued to circulate throughout the party, making sure everyone had what they needed without ever being intrusive. The space itself is fantastic. It offers the perfect indoor-outdoor feel -- a tented setting with cozy heaters that keeps everyone comfortable, but without that stuffy indoor atmosphere. It created such a warm, celebratory vibe. I also appreciated being able to bring in my own cakes. The staff did a beautiful job lighting them and serving them seamlessly to our guests, which made the celebration feel even more special. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would absolutely host another event there again. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

Fried Artichoke Hearts- a must order! They are delicious!

We stumbled across Jacks while waiting for our takeout order from another restaurant near by. We decided to go in and get a few drinks and maybe some appetizers. We sat at the bar and got some drinks. We didn't realize they had such a great happy hour menu! Monday through Sunday! That's amazing not many places have that. I ordered a Paloma which was not on the happy hour menu . My mistake which I had seen the menu first. My husband ordered a whiskey sour . We also got some appetizers, Fried artichoke hearts and the meatballs. Mario the bartender also got us some bread. The bread was nice and soft it was a delicious focaccia. I had never had fried artichoke hearts and they were delicious! The tangy sauce they are served on it amazing I was even putting it on my bread. Then we had the meatballs and those were delicious as well. Perfect size meatballs and the delicious sauce . We will have to come back to this little gem we stumbled across again. Great service at the bar by Mario! And the rest of the staff were very attentive too.

Ham and eggs comes with a side and my go to is Swedish pancakes with a home made butter. You can get on the waitlist through yelp app.

Restaurant is nice with some booth seating in the back and even some outdoor seating. Parking itself-there's a small lot next to it but it's almost always full so you can do some street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods. When I last came here, we ordered the red pepper hummus to share and I ordered the French dip! It was excellent as per usual and the service was good. One critique I would have though is that one of the people in my party was a vegetarian and had ordered a veggie burger. The people bringing out the food accidentally swapped the plates of someone else in the party who had ordered a chicken blt when placing the dishes in front of each person. Unfortunately the vegetarian did take a bite of the chicken blt before realizing it was not the veggie burger and spit it out. It is what it is and was an honest mistake. But, maybe confirming the dishes before placing it in front of the person would be good. First time it's happened but we hope it doesn't happen again because we love this place!

That said, as locals, we likely won't be returning -- and that's a shame, because it is in a nice location. The valet experience was a bit of a stumble right out of the gate -- my boyfriend was directed to navigate between two tight rows of parked cars with no guidance and wasn't given a valet ticket. He had to go back and ask for one. For a resort charging resort prices, that's not a great welcome. The restaurant was also under construction during our visit, which blocked all views of the ocean and pool -- the very thing that typically justifies resort-level pricing. No adjustment was made for this. Then came the bill. A bagel with salmon and a coffee came to $40 before anything extra. Add an automatic 20% gratuity (applied without disclosure to a party of two), $10 for parking, and what started as a simple breakfast crept up to nearly $70. We weren't given a choice about the gratuity -- at that point it's not a tip, it's a mandatory dining fee. Just call it what it is. Has everyone forgotten that gratuity is supposed to be a choice -- based on customer service and satisfaction? Apparently some have. When we brought it up on the way out, the woman at the front mentioned that auto-gratuity is now "the norm" and that tipped workers make below minimum wage. We're in California, where that's actually not legally permitted. Offering misinformation as justification for a policy that removes the customer's choice isn't a great look. We've dined at fancier hotels in the area and have never encountered a surprise mandatory gratuity. The restaurant was also nearly empty during our visit, with mostly hotel guests. If this restaurant wants to attract locals rather than just captive hotel guests, reconsidering these pricing and gratuity practices would be a genuine step in the right direction. What could have been a lovely morning out left a bad taste -- and not from the food.

I want to start this review off by saying THANK YOU to Blake, Kelly and all the Craft House staff…read morethat had a hand in our wedding reception!! It was truly such a beautiful night that went off without a hitch. Because of YOU GUYS. Beginning of Planning: My husband and I were on the hunt for the perfect "alternative" space to a traditional wedding venue due to time constraints of planning a wedding in 4 months and also budgetary constraints (not willing to sell our souls for a 40k wedding in South OC). I came across Craft House on Yelp (another beautiful couple held their wedding there) and knew the space would be perfect. I emailed for a week or two with Kelly before deciding to see the space in person. Late November/early December we met with Blake to show us the space. We knew it was the place for us when we were explaining to Blake our overall goal we were trying to accomplish: We wanted to throw a nice dinner and dance party for the people we love the most to celebrate the love we share. And we wanted to do it our way. Blake's response: We can do it all. No constraints. Basically no "rules", do it your way. We immediately put a hold on the space for our wedding date. December-March: Kelly was the perfect person to connect with and kindly answered all the questions that come along with planning a wedding. She was efficient with answering emails and following up with us (I'm type B, I love a follow up). We went to eat at Craft House a few times during these months and we able to figure out what we loved the best on the menu and each experience was fantastic. 10/10 drinks, food, and service. March: We started finalizing all the little details, food and drink menu, decorations, table arrangements, day of timeline. It was easy, efficient and there was a confidence from both Blake and Kelly that made us feel extremely confident and grateful to have our reception at Craft House. Wedding Week/Day of: Blake kindly allowed us to bring a load of decorations the day before the wedding to help the set up efforts on wedding day. We dropped off boxes of candles with a bartender (possibly a manager) the night before and he was extremely sweet and helpful by carrying boxes inside for us. The day of the wedding, our DJ and friend who was helping with set up were able to go in a few hours before. When we walked into the reception for the first time, we were blown away! I was in true awe at the space. It was exactly how we envisioned. The beautiful wood interior and 3/4 walls of windows with plants inside and outside made it feel like we were in a green house. I was met with a drink in my hand immediately from the bartenders and I was never without a drink (they would find me every time my drink was empty and give me a new one... THAT'S TOP TIER SERVICE). We ate, we drank and we partied with the people we love the most, exactly how we wanted. Things you should know: Particulars- We had about 90 guests, 4 vendor meals and had the private space from 12 PM (set up time) to 10:30PM. Price- THE BEST DEAL YOU CAN GET. Rental for the space, food and open bar(!!!) all bundled into a great price. Best bang for your buck. Price included gratuity and a small percentage for service fee. UNBEATABLE. Service- As someone who worked in the restaurant industry for many years (and close friends who are bartenders and servers)... we all agreed that the service was top tier. One of the biggest stand outs for me was the smiles on all of their faces during our reception. There is nothing better than seeing employees genuinely smile while they are working. It really makes the whole atmosphere a million times better. Some videos that we got at the end of the night, you can see the bartenders dancing while serving guests, it made my heart happy to know that there was some enjoyment while working their butts off for us. Thank you all so much!! We enjoyed ourselves and so did all of our guests. The next day people were stunned that we had been at a restaurant and not a wedding venue. This review is well deserved. *Pictures to come!

Quite a few regulars hanging around the bar, this looks like a Dana Point watering spot for many elderly locals. But the ambience was pretty quiet for a Friday night, not exactly reassuring. We started with the blackened baba ganoush, which I no longer see on the web menu, and it was the best dish of all. Truly delicious, with some nice breads and harissa, the combination was a delight to soak up with the bread provided. I had a blue crab and avocado salad, well done and tasty. Scallops were also well prepared, short rib was good but not spectacular, and the jumbo shrimp cocktail-well, it was a shrimp cocktail-hard to screw that up, but nothing remarkable either. The let-down here was definitely the dessert, which is really hard to mess up. The flourless chocolate cake tasted like a vegan cake made with aquafaba or some other not good flour substitute. Dense to the point of almost being chewy-why not go with a molten chocolate cake instead? Chef needs a new recipe for this one. Glad we did not order anything else because if it was on this level, it would have been double my disappointment. A few of the cocktails were good with a strong pour. For these kind of prices and food, there are better options out there. This is not a bad place, but not one I'd put on my bucket list.

I know this isn't Cracker Barrel but the portions were cartoonishly small. Another bad suggestion by that P/E minded consultant. 3. Hire another server or two.
