My only real gripe is that they don't have many gluten free options but our server was able to get me a burger with no bun with a side salad and I didn't get sick from it. It was actually really tasty and very good quality beef (if only a bit too much cheese - but again, most people whose stomachs can actually digest dairy would probably like that). Their cocktail and beer list is huge and they only charge $5 or $6 for mocktails! Most places make you pay booze prices for these. I also really liked the patio and we were able to bring our pup to hang out and enjoy the festivities. If this place was closer to us (and not 2.5 hrs away), we'd probably come here more often.

Review Visit: February 17th, 2015…read more Silver Bullet in name only. There are no werewolf threats here! In fact, they don't sell anything gun related. Just yum related. Silver Bullet is a nickname for Coors Light. Which, in talking to friends, used to be hard to come by in this area back in the day. So maybe this place is named as a tribute to that beer? The Silver Bullet has been in East Peoria for as long as I know. As a kid, I remember this place being here, because I would visit the Co-Op Store next door (music store) to pick up some cds and music memorabilia. It was called Silver Bullet, Too at one point, but I am unaware if there was a second location. Once my friends and I turned 21, we started to visit this place, so the Initial Date is a bit misleading. My friends and I have been here many times before and after the photo you see above. Each time has been a great memory filled with deliciously cheap food, great drinks and a friendly staff. My friend Maria and I actually spent NYE 2016 here, counting in 2017 and despite it being slow in the bar, we had a blast. So what does the Silver Bullet offer? Well it has really good bar food at bar prices. I would actually come here with an ex-girlfriend just to get a good meal and shoot the breeze for a few hours. It has slots, a pool table or two, slots and some golf gaming machine. I will say that what I expected was a dumpy/low key bar since it's in a strip of stores and the outside is kind of plain. But once you step in, it almost has a restaurant feel as it is more upscale and everything is in really great shape. There is even a Beer Garden/Patio that you can go out and enjoy your beers while smoking or taking in the great Illinois weather. Sorry, this blog post has been all over the place. To me, Silver Bullet is like a real life Cheers bar. Just a fun and friendly place to go for some food and libations. So if you need a good bite and are in East Peoria for some reason, check out Silver Cheers... I mean Silver Bullet for an enjoyable time... Unless you are a werewolf! Hoooowwwwllllll!

The first time I had the Italian Beef and it was amazing! Steaming hot and juicy, the flavor was superb. I had crispy fries with it and they were perfect (at least the way I like them)! I brought half home and when I warmed it up in the oven it was as good as the original in the restaurant. Today I asked about the tenderloin! It's hand made, and so huge it does not fit in the bun. The toppings I ordered were raw onions, pickle relish and mustard. I could only eat about half or less than half. The crispy fries were again outstanding, and brought half of them home. I cannot say enough about the wait staff and the food! I usually go around 1 p.m. and there are plenty of tables available. They also serve homemade pizza which I haven't tried yet. Whoever is leading the food and cooking should get a gold star. There are not too many bar/restaurants that serve quality food at this level. Kudos to all the staff!!!!!!!!

We ended up staying there talking for a couple of hours to catch up, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. While there are lots of great options on the menu, both of us chose the BPT - Breaded Pork Tenderloin. I've eaten a lot of breaded pork tenderloins in my time, but none like this one. The usual approach is super thin and huge, making the bun look tiny. While this one wasn't much larger than the bun, it was at least an inch thick, so it was more like eating a fried pork chop sandwich, but with the meat tenderized. The meat was well-seasoned and very flavorful, and the crust was extra-crispy and crunchy. The Honey-Lime sauce (one of three sauces brought to each table along with Ranch and Tyler's Sauce) is delicious and worked great with the pork. Fries were good, as was the cole slaw (which had a nice kick from some very freshly-ground black pepper). And I'm always happy when a place has Guinness on tap.

From the get go the atmosphere was great, there was a short queue (but it was a Friday night, so it's to be expected), but we were quickly shown to our table. Our server was Connor, who was great from the start and was very flexible with our large group who had a few dietary preferences/requirements. One of our favorite things about the menu is the focus on utilizing local businesses and serving their products. As most locals know Bill's Lemon Shake Ups are a staple in the region so when I saw that on the menu I had to go for that, and with multiple flavor choices I was excited to try. I ended up settling for the tenderloin sandwich, but I was certainly interested to try a lot of the menu. The amount of pork was HUGE and it was flavorful and paired with the honey lime sauce it was a 10/10! The bun alone was phenomenal, and I couldn't recommend this meal enough if you are a schnitzel or tenderloin fan! That sauce is definitely a star of the show, paired with the sweet heat seasoning available at the table next to the S&P the meal was the perfect combination of sweet, spice and tasty! Everyone else enjoyed their meals as well and there was little left by the end. The nachos were customized to account for a dietary preference so this is not the standard, however they were delicious and a huge portion. The pizza was thin crust and was excellent too, so no notes across the board. Thanks once again to Connor for accommodating us and being so patient with our party. You can also purchase any of the three major sauces that they have in house, so I proceeded to buy the honey lime which we'll be enjoying for the next few weeks, if it makes it that long!
