It's down-home, chicken centered, priced just right, and it's frying up chicken in a way that will make you question everything you thought you knew about this noble bird. Look, words aren't gonna convey it but I'll try...it's like this...fried chicken in all its crispy and savory glory, but with the tenderness of braised, fall-off-the-bone chicken somehow. I don't know how they're doing it, but that's what they're doing. So tender, so fried. Just amazing. I've been here enough times to say that it is consistent, and that if you go, you'll love it. Aside from all that, the people are super friendly, (Luverne is, in fact, the friendliest city in the south according to a sign I saw). The place is clean and unpretentious. The prices are a breath of fresh air. And the chicken...the chicken is on a level all it's own. Don't live out your life without going here. You don't want to be old and looking back on your years and wondering why you never ate at The Chicken Shack. Get down there. Order the chicken. You owe it to yourself.
