Thank you Mike. After driving my this shop almost daily for many years, I decided to stop. I bought a "new" to me car and needed an extra key. The key is pretty specialized but without transponder. Mike looked at it, knew exactly what kind of key and what to do. He is such a skilled locksmith....I used the key cutting machine and it did not cut the key correctly. He DID NOT give up! He literally manipulated the machine, and would not stop until the key worked! Had I gone to Walmart or somewhere else, I feel as though I would have out of luck! One star is too many for this guy. He has to be the worst. He has no social skills or customer service training. He should work behind closed doors, not dealing with the public. On the phone he was rude and told me he couldn't help me unless I took the car to him. In person he made me go around the block to park right on his face. He took forever to come to me and then without saying a word left me outside. When I went into his dog house establishment, he said he wasn't finding what I needed and it was going to take him a few minutes. I asked him to please call me and let me know if he found it, 4 days later, still nothing. I called and left a message saying I really needed my car cylinder door lock replaced and he never bother to call me back. Wrong attitude, impolite, rude. A complete a*%^@#hole. This was our first experience with having a "transponder key" duplicated, and of course, it's more expensive than a regular key. It has to be cut and programmed by an experienced locksmith who carries the specialized keys and equipment needed to program both key and car. The price runs around $300 at a dealer. I used Jack's because my Ford has some sort of issue with its original key (one I got with the purchase of the car). My mom's car was stuck at Macy's at the Chula Vista Center with a dead battery. We bought a new one and went back to Macys. The one thing I hate about the CV Center is the tight parking. It was packed and we were circling until a spot opened. Thought it would be easy peasy, from there, BUT then the dang car door wouldn't open! What is up with Honda CRVs?! The key would turn, but it wouldn't open and there's no other keyhole in the entire car! Insurance connected us to Jack the locksmith. He was in communication with me regularly while we waited and he arrived about 35 minutes later. By now it was dark. I held a flashlight for Jack on the driver's side, my husband held another one on the passenger side and helped direct Jack as he BLINDLY manuevered a long wire to pull the hood latch which was deep near the front left side. We went after the hood latch because even when he pulled the door handle from the inside, the door still wouldn't open. It took 20 minutes in this freezing weather and 3 attempts adjusting the wire each time, then bullseye, he got it! We felt like we won the lottery! I told Jack he should buy a ticket! He could have left after we got the hood opened, but he stayed to help my husband install the new battery, he even offered to bring out some tools and a rag and stayed until the car turned on.
