On April 25, 2025, in the afternoon, a friend who had been helping me work on my yard finished working and left to go home. A few minutes later he knocked on my door and told me he couldn't get his car started because the key wouldn't turn on the ignition. We both attempted everything we could to get the key to turn but nothing worked. We sprayed WD-40 in the lock, we tried turning the steering wheel, made sure the gear was in park and used both sides of the key, all to no avail. My friend contacted his employer to let him know he would be late for work and his boss told him to call Hector the locksmith. My friend called Hector and explained the problem to him. Hector was on an other job and said he could be at our location in 30 minutes. Sure enough, Hector arrived 30 minutes later. After examining the dilemma, Hector said he knew what the problem was and that he could repair it. It was not a quick fix as the switch mechanism located inside the steering column had to be repaired or replaced. Hector told my friend a new switch for the car would be expensive and if installed, new keys would have to be purchased and programmed. Hector said he was going to try to repair the switch. After dismantling the steering column and removing the switch, Hector began to repair the switch. I could tell Hector was very experienced and confident in what he was doing. He was very efficient and told us what he was doing and why he was doing it. I could tell that Hector loves his work as a locksmith. At one point he had to create a notch in a screw so it would fit the switch! It was fascinating watching him work. Hector reinstalled the switch into the steering column, turned the key and the car started! The steering wheel was unlocked and moving freely. He then put the steering column back together, made sure everything was functioning properly, cleaned the work area and the job was done. Hector was a lifesaver today because had he not been able to repair the ignition switch, my friend would have had to have the car towed to the dealer or to a locksmith shop at a great cost in time and money. Hector was very professional, friendly, with an air of levity but a seriousness of purpose. An excellent locksmith and a kind human being. I locked my car keys in the trunk. Again. In less than a week. FML. Hector came to rescue and got me on my way again in less than an hour. There were a couple communication issues though: -I thought he quoted me a lower price over the phone, so I was surprised when he wanted to charge me nearly twice the price. But to be fair, his price was still on the lower end of the three places I called. -He said he'd be there in 15-20 minutes, but it took him 40 minutes. Maybe I misheard that part too. But again, even though it took longer than expected, it was still faster than the first time I had to wait. At the end of the day, Hector is a very nice man who can break into your car. A border patrol officer broke my motorcycle key trying to open a compartment on my bike while I was crossing the border from Mexico. They made me push my motorcycle about 1/4 mile north and out of the security area, so I was stuck on the side of the 5 freeway at 8pm on a Saturday night. I live 4 hours away close to Santa Barbara, CA, so I had nowhere to go and no one to call for help. I called no less than 20 locksmiths, and they either said they didn't work on motorcycles, or said they would come and didn't show up. After almost 4 hours passed, I was about to give up when I called and spoke to Hector at A Key Force. He said he was just getting in bed, and didn't know if he had my rare motorcycle key or not; but that he would drive to pick me up and take me to his shop to see if he could make the key. Like the other locksmiths I called, I didn't think he would show up either. But after a few minutes, he picked me up just before midnight on the 5 fwy, and we drove to his shop and found a key that appeared to match my broken one. I didn't have much hope, but Hector remained positive the entire time. We drove back to the motorcycle, and both keys he made from my broken key worked! I was able to start my bike and drive home to Ojai. Hector took a chance late at night and gave his time - knowing that he couldn't find my key listed in the books and that he might not have the specific key to fit my bike. He spent 1 1/2 hours to drive to pick me up, take me to his shop, make the keys, and drive me back to my motorcycle. I hope that someone reads this and calls Hector if they ever need any locksmith services. He deserves your business, and certainly earned mine. And the price he charged me was very reasonable, and less than I thought it would cost. He's a good man and next time I go to San Diego, I hope to call him up and buy him dinner to thank him. So this is my exact experience I called they answered promptly, I asked him about how much it would be he gave me a price that was the exact same price that I paid, I was given the time frame for his arrival and the locksmith showed up in the designated time frame he gave what more can you ask for. Oh he called when he was two blocks out great service and provided a fast fix to an fortunate problem without charging an arm and a leg. I called in an emergency situation where my keys got locked into a vehicle when I needed to be somewhere within an hour don't you hate when this happens and i was willing to do whatever it took to get the keys out. The locksmith showed up and within 20 seconds had the door unlocked amazing I can't believe it was so quick. The price was amazingly fair considering he had to drive to where I was & unlock the door and drive back to his office or next job. After locking myself out of my apartment I quickly googled a locksmith and found another company who claimed to have a $10 service fee and who could get me into the apartment within 30 minutes.
